The only other I can think of is Alan Blayney, who made a similar amount of appearances but did have that impressive game against Newcastle. Those who have left, Cody Cropper had a reasonable career back in the US & James Shea is at Luton still. But other than that, nobody of note..

Memories of the Kevin Miller signing, who was working in an office before getting the gig for us. In terms of the set up, I noted that Alfie House explained it. McCarthy is out for a few weeks, Dylan Moody has some sort of illness which has kept him away for the last month and the U21 keeper is only 17. It seems Jones has been signed as chief tea maker until Moody returns to take up the role.

Wasn't there rumours the club didn't want to move him on to an English club? I can only assume there is a fitness issue which hasn't been published and it's holding off any move.

Yep - still not over that cup match back in 2004.

Had similar from my friend in Holland. Reckons Feyenoord have been trying to terminate the loan early and they are buzzing that we've taken him.

They are in trouble with the EFL at the moment though..

It's not always the case with the manager. I'm friends with a recently retired ex pro who had a pretty solid career, he mentioned in the past he moved clubs simply because he wanted to live in a certain area, or that the move would put him in the shop window more than the current club he played for. I think the influence of the manager is less so than it was 10, 20 or 30 years ago, especially as most barely last a couple of seasons.

Didn't we sign Madsen then too? Remember everyone getting a little excited after the clips of him scoring for fun in Denmark, then first game against Reading he really looked a pile of turd.

2-0 Stoke.

I don't feel hopeful about Scienza staying, I can certainly see someone in the bottom half of the Premier League taking a punt on him. I fear this summer more than any, it's going to be a threadbare squad once we've been stripped of any talent we have and we won't be in a position to attract that of a similar standard.

PSR rules change between the Championship and League One, it's actually benefitted both them & Birmingham. It means they have a bit more freedom to have larger losses.

It was down to money, Leeds were able to offer a lot more at the time.

Receding faster than a Ferrari in reverse. Even Turkey hasn't saved it..

If you read between the lines what Baz said to the Stoke press, there is no unity in the dressing room anyway...

I don't think we'll be signing anyone, even though we're crying out for someone at the back who can take a bit of control. This window will be more to do with getting rid of the players the board don't want, I wouldn't be surprised if they let those around the first team like Downes or THB go if a decent bid comes in.
-
Not really bothered anymore, but I assume we'll lose 2 or 3 nil and dominate the stats by passing sideways for most of the match.
-
Going to this game, which means it'll be an easy win for Hull 0-3

My dad was a season ticket holder but I didn't really get into football until I was about 7. I had been asking him to go to a game for a bit, so Boxing Day 1995 he took me down to Saints vs Spurs at the Dell. 0-0, bore draw! But I was hooked from then.

Regular starter for Derby.

My concern would be if we stay down and one of the 'bigger' sides get relegated. I could imagine someone like West Ham chucking a huge bid to bring him in.
-
We'll see with Cov. I've watched them the past few games and they seem to be a bit of a bomb scare at the back, just they know how to put the ball in the net to save them!

Noises from Norwich suggest they move for Craig Fleming, who worked under Ralph at us and even coached the U18's. So potentially another club moving for someone who hasn't managed before..

Regarding managerial appointments. I was listening to the 'no tippy tappy football' podcast that Sam Allardyce runs, he was speaking to the league managers association chairman Richard Bevan who says they often offer advice to clubs in terms of making the right choice with appointments, even offering experienced managers like Allardyce, David Pleat, Ferguson to sit in on interviews. It does make me wonder why our club hasn't bothered taking up the offer, surely with the high turnover of managers it suggests they don't..
