  1. It's doubtful, the charge against Leicester has been brought on by the Premier League so if there are any point deductions it'll be this season. The EFL could jump to life once the 24/25 accounts are released but even then it'll probably be a fine. (I didn't realise until recently the EFL fined Leicester for some rather suspect sponsorship dealings back in 2014).
  2. Napoli wasn't it? Certainly it was one of the bigger sides from Italy. I have a Dutch mate who is a big AZ fan, he was pretty surprised we bought Sagawara as he thought he was a bit iffy in the Dutch top flight...let alone the Premier League.
  3. His other half is well on the mend and she was on the pitch with him at the weekend, she certainly isn't couped up in hospital. I think it's more of a smokescreen him stating he wants to be in the UK with her, it's likely Lens will be selling heavily again this summer which is something Still mentioned a few months ago and it's whether he would be able to get a tune out of what's left.
  4. There is an interview out there where he talks about the issues in the training room, particularly in Belgium when they weren't getting paid and comes across well. It must of worked too, because they managed to win some games after that!
  5. Great start to the day 🙄
  6. He took Birmingham from the playoffs to struggling to stay in the division (I know relegation was completed under another manager). He's a poor choice and whilst i'm pretty open in terms of who we appoint, he's proven that he's not quite got it to be a manager in this division.
  7. Considering they lost Wahi, Samba, Danso & Khusanov and he's had limited money to spend. I think it's a pretty decent job..
  8. Yep - certainly could see him in Italy. Pretty sure there was some talk of Roma in the past wanting him.
  9. Looking at what's being reported it seems the first target is Rohl with Still in a close second. Personally, I think we'll up with with Still as I think Rohl wants a gig back in Germany over another year in the Championship.
  10. Draper sponsoring the training kit is a step. I thought Dimplex had gone years ago, but they are still operating over in Hedge End..
  11. Doubt it - only applies to the Premier League, the EFL can carry on with gambling brands...
  12. Makes sense, can't see them breaking the bank for top talent so will look for some deals.
  13. Notts starting to steady themselves now. I had hope before lunch...
  14. Seems like we're limiting Notts at the moment, need to get the breakthrough soon though..
  15. Really interesting article on the football economy website - certainly sets out where we would be financially next season.... https://footballeconomyv2.blogspot.com/2025/05/can-saints-bounce-back.html#google_vignette
  16. That is an article from 2023 though? 777 aren't the greatest, but Sevilla and Vasco both stayed up and Hertha was a different problem all together, they were in the shit during the Windhorst era and would of gone down no matter what..
  17. Looks like he could be Rohl's replacement at Wednesday.
  18. Possible - McKenna was asked recently about his future and wasn't overly convincing..
  19. Not sure on Murphy, few of the blue few I'm friends with seem to think he goes missing in games. Didn't we try to sign Rak-Sakyi last summer?
  20. Lamptey is Everton bound, looks like that one is pretty much signed. Ings is interesting though, I can't imagine many taking a punt unless someone like Brentford fancy having him on the bench.
  21. He's been quoted before saying he'd love to run the club (see link) but he won't throwaway his own money....
  22. Just jumping on a couple of points. Firstly I work quite closely with farms and currently they are being offered quite hefty sums to build solar on farmland, money which really does smash the equivalent returns if it was used for rape, livestock etc. Secondly, climate change is very much real and it's causing us to change the way we farm. One particular family farm has recorded the weather every day going back to the 1800's, looking through the books you can see that whilst the yearly amount of rain we receive is pretty similar to 150 years ago we have less rainy days and when it does rain, we seem to get more than we used to. The daily temperatures certainly have ticked up and you can really notice the difference in the winter months compared to the turn of the last century. There is one bit of good news! I worked with a couple of large French Champagne companies who are buying up farmland within Hampshire, West Sussex, Kent etc because they believe on the current trend that the UK will be able to produce sparkling wines which really will be world class in the next 10-20 years.
  23. Seems like St Mary's is quite a confusing place at the moment. We, for the first time in a while have a sporting director but we are currently managerless, with the club potentially up for sale too. I just have a rather horrible feeling it's going to be Rusk & Lallana as I can't see anyone like Rohl or Still wanting to join a club with so much uncertainty around it. Equally I'm going to mentally prepare for what is likely to be a very disappointing season in the Championship..
  24. I've had a shocker there...
  25. I tend to agree, I think Still would overall be a better fit for us and I have a feeling Rohl is Leipzig bound anyway..
