I had high hopes going into this season. A manager in place extremely early and targets set for promotion. We did largely no business until the end of August (partly financially I get), and we have been set up horrifically ever since. Constant managerial changes. Coaching teams put together having not worked together. The phrase “throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks” rings a bell.

The cheap appointments in staff and managers scream they want to keep all control from the managers and their coaching team. Maybe that’s why we haven’t got stand out candidates. They’ve had one discussion about how the SR organisation/ the club wishes to operate and they’ve gone “Naa fuck that”. (Which is similar to what I’ve heard).

Many options: Don’t go. Don’t spend money on tickets. Stop buying merchandise, food, drinks etc outside the ground. Tennis balls on the pitch. Gets media attention - and SR don’t like that. Stickers with SR out planted on every door, rail, seat around the ground. Boycott the start of the game, maybe four minutes to mark four shambolic years under SR. Chants from home fans not calling out the group, but individuals, “Fuck off Rasmus” for example. Large protests outside the main entrance of St Mary’s on a match day. Constant booing from the stands.

Russell Martin I don’t think was helped by the poor recruitment in the summer after promotion. I would’ve hoped his naivety and ego would’ve clocked some of these failings but Rangers showed he hasn’t learnt. That said I’d have him over Tonda anyday. Someone mentioned Martin Semmens, actually he and Ralph Hassenhutl worked extremely close together and kept the team ticking over for years on a shoe string - and that should be commendable. He was let go by Sport Republic six months into their tenure.

I don’t think it makes a blind bit of difference. As long as we have the same GK, the same formation - the incompetencies in defence, the non existence of midfield meaning a lack of attacking threat, and the majority of dross continuing to start (Manning, Stephens etc) things won’t change. Good results have to stem from the top down. The hierarchy is a shitshow. I do know because I know of someone close to the club. It’s a mess. It’s not a surprise.

I can also see the pros of having Sports Republic. Five at the back! The multi-club model! Two relegations in four years! Stable Premier League to mid table Championship! So many benefits.

Why do they have to be left footed? They could start with just being competent, that would be an immediate upgrade. Anyone remember Jaidi, Lovren, van Dijk, Yoshida. All right footed and predominantly played on the left side.

If Dragan Solak wants to come out of this with any credit he needs to sack off the lot of them. He’s the investor, but the ones pissing about with it are all absolute chancers.

I mean this as politely as possible and I say this with no tone of anger in my voice but: Sport Republic, for all the money you have invested, you have been horrific owners. You are not football people, you’re looking at the cheap option and trying to recreate something out of nothing. You have rushed from decision to decision in terms of managers, transfers, styles of play. Enough is enough. Just sell up and fuck off. Group of fucking chancers.

Shameful. Waits until we are 4-0 down before changing to a back four. Has constantly rotated and rested players ahead of “the next game”. We’ve taken two points from fifteen in this winter period. An absolute clown, well out of his depth. But the real finger pointing needs to be at those above him.

This is where journos need to do their bit and start asking difficult questions. I’m full expecting Tonda to be totally blind to conceding the four goals and go “there were times we played well”.

Agreed. A couple of years back he bugged me but he says it as it is. You buy players for certain positions to play in those same positions. We haven’t done that.
