That's fair enough, I've never lived in social housing but the issue only came up cos my colleague was banging on about selling his as soon as possible and moving to a bigger place. Maybe that's just our generation.

I thought you'd be dead against handouts, surely its best to knuckle down and work your way out of poverty? Council house rent is subsidised already so if you are both working you can save up over a few years.
