Erm, soz not an expert, how about putting in the windows disk and selecting re-install, I think it does a basic format by itself when you do that, windows xp does anyway.

If you have the Windows install disk and your driver disks, I used a prog back in the day called Wipe Disk, you insert it and it securely wipes the whole drive, then you install windows again. Takes a while though.
