Funnily enough Jay has tweeted this morning "Love the new kit, what do you guys think? #thestripesareback" so, is he just spouting pr guff in your opinion? LOL
-
I can understand the club playing hardball on the fee negotiations, but someone there must realise that they are losing valuable PR by not being in a position to announce new signings in the wake of the 2 departures over the last week. Six weeks and counting to our visit to Anfield.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m

Quote: "I think a lot of the vitriol is because we are genuinely gutted to lose him. He is a good player and we'd be a better team if he stayed. Things change quickly in football and if he doesn't want to fulfil his destiny as club legend that's fine. Let's show a bit of class ourselves and not act like dumped teenagers. Having met him I don't think he is up his own arse, I'd actually say he is quite shy and insular if anything, doesn't enjoy the limelight ala Scholes. So good luck Adam, thanks for the memories and I hope we pass Liverpool on the way down on our way to the Champions League. I also note TheVMAN has been viewing the forum, if you feel owe this man anything for all the ITK snippets we have had in recent years, it would be nice to respect the fact that he is someone probably very close to Adam and can't be pleasant reading." Quote Just LOL -
Y'see, I don't get this "stuck by us during the dark days" bulls hit that I keep seeing on this thread. Surely you could say the same for the club sticking by the player through his "dark days". If the VMan is that close to the player you would have hoped he would have advised him to act with a bit more CLASS on his way out the door. I believe that is the root cause of the ill feeling towards the player. He has demonstrated that he just has no CLASS. I will be very interested to see if he has the b alls to write a goodbye letter of the same class as Lambert.

Have to say this is dragging on a bit now - just want it finished. Wouldn't be surprised if Fenway are having a fit about the insurance required after the medical lol.

Has the Judas left for his 30 pieces of silver yet?

Probably even the Journos realise how WRONG Adam was in signing a Liverpool shirt before and transfer is concluded.
-
And I think everyone on the board here would agree with you Derry. So disappointing to think the team captain is behaving this way after the journey we have been on. OK, so the 5 year plan has been achieved; I would like to think he would hang around to hear what the next 5 year plan aspires to deliver.

Look, I appreciate your point of view. However, it is not the CLUB that is stopping him from concentrating on matters in hand is it? Or are you saying that they should update Adam hourly on their communictions with LFC? That comes across as just being a little NEEDY if you don't mind me saying it. If he can't concentrate, it sounds to me its because the Club are not yielding to the pressure being put on them by LFC to conclude a deal pre- World Cup. And he soooo wants this move sorted..... doesn't that really sound pathetic when you read it? He can sort this out TODAY and put his mind at rest for the World Cup by handing in a transfer request. It's really that simple. Perhaps his agent should advise him to do that - then there is no ambiguity.
-
I thought the Chairman of the Club made an unequivocal statement on transfers last week, did he not? So are you saying that Adam didn't accept that? Or that believes he should be getting preferential treatment on this matter? How much clarification of his "future" does he want? Either he puts in a transfer request, or we notify him when an offer comes in that matches our valuation of him. End of. Get on with starring on the world's stage and stop coming across as a prize W anker.
-
Oh dear, such a shame to see a post like this from someone on this forum that I respect. What bit of Ralph Kreuger's statement last week did Adam not understand? And what future does he want to discuss? He signed a new contract last year and stated he was happy to seeout his career in the Prem with Saints. All Adam's statements now start to ring a little hollow now, don't they? As others have said, he can stick in a transfer request now if he wants out, or wait until a team come in with an offer that matches our valuation of him. If I was him I would be keeping my mouth shut and start focussing on the biggest tournament of his career. Otherwise he is just coming over as yet another whiny prem prima donna. As you're posting Weston, perhaps you can tell us at what point last season the lad had his head turned? Did LFC tap him up after Christmas? Had he started making plans to go before the end of the season? Your insight would be appreciated, given your contacts.

Steven Davis on Southampton's future

One of our players of the year IMO. Agree he is in the frame for the captaincy should Adam leave us. -
How about Thomas Tuchel from Mainz 05? He is used to working with the youth set up, and has done well with the first team since taking over there, getting them to 7th this season and qualifying for the Europa league.

This. He looked perfect for our set up.

Post-Match Reaction: Swansea 0-1 SAINTS
No 2 to Maybush replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I too was sat with the home fans. I can't understand all this talk of dull, boring, tedious, etc. I thought the team were great, against a good footballing side, Swansea. The only disappointment was Gallagher, but you have to give him some leeway as it is a rapid learning curve. He did come close with that header though. The lad just needs a bit more self belief. OUr midfield maestros weren't quite on it today. I t strikes me that Lallana is carrying his groin injury, Davis made some basic errors I haven't seen in his game recently, Morgan looked a bit rusty with one or two touches, Jack was his usual excellent self and Big Vic was a rock! No question he has made a big impact coming back. Bony is as big as him, mind. Overall it was great to snatch it in the death. The scarf waving looked absolutely AWESOME from where I was sat. I hope it came over on TV! Now on to spanking those Mancs! COYS! -

The second paragraph could do with some work; although capturing the essence of the timeline, it doesn't read very well. Otherwise, a good effort. -
I make that 13 teams watching him lol

This. Working in Swansea, I heard this has been festering since the summer and has had something to do with Laudrup's agent and transfers. Heard at the weekend Laudrup was not even coaching the first team anymore, telling them " you're professional footballers, you know what to do". Source - connected Swan fan.

I could have sworn Man Utd splashed the cash on a Spanish midfielder this window, or did I just imagine it? #peoplemakeupbull****tofitanagenda

I believe you are thinking of the 03 season and our final v Arsenal at the Millenium?

I went to the game in Swansea last week. Newcastle didn't really offer a lot. Dyer was the game changer when he came on in the 1st half. They couldn't deal with Swansea's passing game and Dyer's pace, and even though they didn't have a recognised striker, still slotted 3 past them. I don't think we have anything to fear, as long as we play our game and dictate the style of play.
