I think we have won two games from 15 against the top 8.
-
Yeah I get that but as well as he semi final we saw the same commitment against Liverpool last week.. But I would say Most teams can put a team together to play "park the bus" and be reasonably ok at it...even boro were good defensively in the first half of the season. Who do you think hasn't tried? (Not looking for an argument, I just don't see it) even when Long has been shocking, he still puts a shift in, IMO. Oooh just thought of one, I said to the bloke next to me three or four games before Fonte left that he wasn't trying..so I will give you him!
-
I have not been clambering for the Hull manager? I don't think Puel is that good...the Hull manager has done a good job in impossible circumstances but personally I have not been clammering for him..
-
See that's where our views must differ.. I don't see a lack of effort.. I don't see them doing what they want... I see players playing to quite a rigid tactical formation. Some don't fit that formation or style of play, but that's not through a lack of effort. I think that's why certain players are not playing so great, they are not in their best positions. One thing we probably do agree on is that if Puel stays we need to get rid of all the players who look out of position and buy players which fit his style.
-
Lol name calling? Are you still at school?
-
If Puel gets sacked..how many of those below us do you really believe would have him as their manager?
-
It's the managers job to motivate them surely? If not why do managers get the sack?
-
We will find out in the next two years for sure won't we? Will he stay like he says or head off into the Spanish sunset..
-
"That"s it were done....." Gotta be "we're" or "we are" mate.... Using "Were" which has a totally different meaning undid all your good work there!
-
I am happy..enjoyed winning again and getting some goals is always good!
-
No, they would have won one of the two by beating palace?
-
Lol...good times...we beat a side that are absolutely ****e and have been dropping down the league like a stone until they were relegated officially last week.... We are definitely going to be top 4 next season based upon this! #wemarchon
-
Did you think we looked good today then?
-
lol really? You need that explained? You really have got those red and white spectacles firmly on haven't you? Jose took arguably the most talented squad in the league (demonstrated this year) to what mid table...and he got sacked.... So yes last year he was ****e...why do you think he was sacked and yes it impacted of hazards form last season!
-
Lol Hazard was pants last year..did that make him **** or because he had a poor manager?
-
A club employee told me this too...he had every intention of staying and seeing out his contract ..but made it clear he would not have extended his contract.
-
We have a strange view in this country about contracts. I get it with players as their value drops but managers don't stay long so really having a long contract means nothing. I believe RK when he says he will stay at Everton for the length of his contract but I don't think he will sign an extension. Will Everton pull the trigger or let him see his contract out? It will be interesting how that plays out.
-
We would be planning for his departure right now but I am sure the feeling round the club would be more positive.. We would also have had a full season to plan his replacement etc.. If Puel goes how much will we be paying him to go?
-
His biggest error was not letting RK see out the last year of his contract. He thought he was being clever forcing RKs hand but who is laughing now?
-
It definitely is but this season the premier league is really poor...everyone below Everton has a negative goal difference... West Brom haven't won for an age..that middle section is probably the worst set of teams I have seen finish around there... Even the commentators are often talking about how poor games are this season.
-
Yes but Hull are above us! Lol
-
It frustrates me when people say too many games.. Spurs haven't got the biggest squad yet they played in the champions league and the Europa league and got to the cup semi final...yet they still maintained some sort of form. United are making sacrifices to their team now when they have got to the end, having won one cup, got to a quarter final and a cup final.....we made ours changes before we even started often weakening the team when the players were fighting fit.. The big injuries we got this season were not to do with the number of games.
-
true..Leicester also had a catagoric decline at the same time..however at least they could use the excuse they actually tried in Europe.
-
the regression of the team has been obvious all season.. Compare the annual table against the same towards the end of RK's reign when we were second only to Leicester and it's a remarkable fall. Obviously the happy clappers will point to Mane leaving and that we have loads of shots etc but the facts support the likelihood that Puel is more likely to take us down than keep us mid table.
-
Where was Koeman season two then? Was he not in charge when they were purchased? How can you just exclude all his other signings? I would argue RK's signings will make us more money than those signed this year. Puel wasn't here when we signed Remond was he? Do you think he had anything to do with Hojbjerg signing? The system only makes money if the players are performing well enough to increase in value significantly... And if the manager needs years to get them to do that it won't work. And top 6? No chance on a regular basis.. The model can't work that way. You cannot sell your best players to teams above you to get money to buy a team to finish above them? Especially when you have to rebuild your first eleven every year.
