  1. I know it's paper talk but are West Ham really going to offer him 120k+ a week? Shocking if true! Everton seem to get top dollar when they sell people.
  2. Like I said we obviously move in very different circles as I have not heard that, and if I did I would challenge it. There is little point discussing reasons wih you as you are so blinkered to your own agenda, you don't even acknowledge there is another view and resort to the old tactic of trying to label everyone with a different opinion as a racist.
  3. Wish he played like him.
  4. I don't get how you knowing a few people who dislike the French make it "area defining"? 99% of the people I know couldn't care less if their neighbour is English, French, Dutch or Martian... I guess you must move in some strange circles to know so many who do....which is why I asked if you are in the BNP?
  5. Or people can have their own opinions? Or do we all have to share yours Adolf?
  6. Now it's a "defining characteristic of the area" .you really are offensive. Are you a member of the BNP by any chance?
  7. Quantify it then? Is it 95% don't like the French or 1%....you are as bad as any prejudiced person using stereotypes with no quantification of the sample size or supporting evidence other than "your perception". .pretty poor IMO.
  8. Did I read we had the second youngest average age behind Spurs (I think it was)? I still think we have a really talented squad of players.
  9. I am surprised at the Birmingham fans...didn't their manager win them a cup and get them relegated in the same season? They must know that getting to Wembley doesn't necessarily mean you have a great manager!
  10. Lol how can you make such a statement which labels everyone who doesn't love Puel the same..basically stereotyping them all and then get on your high horse about people not liking him because of his differences them? Hypocrite!
  11. What do you consider Clasie? What about Austin then? Or are we saying he wasn't Pelle's replacement?
  12. 8 months between cork leaving and oriel arriving. If he was his replacement we should expect Fontes replacement in August and VVD's next January if he is sold in June. Considering we have a team of people allegedly working on the next recruits, its pretty poor IMO if true.
  13. Didn't we do that with Wanyama?
  14. And yet, history shows, we sell our players at the opening of the window. How can selling VVD (for example) to Liverpool in June be maximising what we get for him? Surely waiting for other clubs to get a bit desperate will start a bidding war?
  15. I am not sure it's the tactic. The slow build up allows the other team to get their defence set so the only option is to go out wide for space. Players like Tadic and Boufal struggle to create, again IMO, due to that slow build up, which means they either go wide or are crowded out just outside the box. According to the premier league stats we didn't score one counter attack goal in the league all season.
  16. Like Holloway at Blackpool, they wouldn't get a cut if we sold for less than we bought for, would they?
  17. How does he know your opinion?
  18. Lol this is what divides us..the happy clappers are so over the top with dreams of top 4 when it's not a realistic goal and the unhappy clappers think we are going down.
  19. That would be a great way to go down...people would take about the team that scored 200 goals in a season and went down... We would have the three or four top scorers in the league and could probably sell them for a few hundred million... I am in!
  20. We do all our sales early on so Les can have his quiet summer!
  21. Hey we, as a club (and a lot of our fans), have accepted our place in the world order. Don't go dreaming about champions league, or even bloodying the nose of the big boys from time to time. Getting 4 points from 12 games against the top 6 is the very top of our game you know. You should be grateful for that. And If Liverpool want one of our players we will drive him there before the transfer window to ensure he is there safe and sound so we don't disrupt any of their pre season. Meanwhile we scrabble around until the end of August trying to get deals done for players who don't really want to be here, who miss pre season and even the first few games sometimes. so whilst Liverpool get off to a flyer having had their squad together since June we have a slow start whilst the unfortunate manager tries to get some cohesion into the new set of players he has been presented with. Just Relax, let the players go and watch the good times roll! It's the Southampton way!
  22. Sell quick before they get to three years, otherwise it's nearly two, which we learned from Wanyama quickly becomes one and you get a ****e price.
  23. I hope, if he stays, we have a good start to the season. If we don't it could become pretty toxic, pretty quickly and I don't think we will recover from that. As long as we get Spurs away early on,Will he also be the first manager since Lawrie to take us to Wembley in two consequetive seasons?
  24. Ok if that's what you think, however my opinion is that Spurs were rubbish in Europe and they didn't even play anyone good. The same goes for Man City. Despite being poor in Europe they still dominated our league. That again illustrates how poor the league is this year. How did arsenal do against Bayern? The big boys got to the cup semi finals without having to play full strength teams in the other rounds.. Man Utd have played a weakened team the league for the last two months and still don't get beat often..it's not because they are brilliant, as we saw, it's because they can put in half effort against the lower half and still get a nil nil draw etc...United were really pretty poor yet still comfortably finished top 6. Despite all their limitations in defence Liverpool finished top 4 and had the best record against the top 6. Yes the top 6 got their act together but by no means we're they really that good this year. The rest of the league was just cannon fodder shown by the drab games between them. I guess it's another agree to disagree moment!
  25. I think that's policy rather than Puels fault. We will turn over a number of players, like we do every summer whether he stays or goes.
