Last season 5 teams in the league scored less goals than us. This year only 3 have scored less than us.(although a number have the same as us) Perversely in both seasons we have been top half for shots..7th last year and 6th so far this year. This season..same as the last..

Let's deal with the myth about Puel having to deal with all these injuries...so as MP has had 7 games is it? Let's compare like for like... MP has only had a not match fit VVD for all 7 games, without him being available at all for the first four was it? In the first 7 league games last season which player did Puel not have avaiable to him? We can't yet compare for "half a season" as MP hasn't had half a season? i am pretty sure Puel had VVD and Austin during that time so actually MP is at a disadvantage surely? (TBH I think that injuries and sulking players is tough..they are paid millions of pounds a year to get round that sort of thing not use it as an excuse but it seems like some people don't think that way!)

Sorry the two aren't linked. Puel wasn't good so he was sacked. MP had nothing to do with that. You can never prove Puel would have been better this season in the same way I can't prove he would be ****e. MP was appointed and he may also not be good, we don't know yet. Puel has nothing to do with that. Even if we are rubbish it doesn't mean we should have kept Puel.

No **** Shurlock......sorry couldn't resist!

Do you know how many managers we have had in the last twenty five years? Or how many during that time have been in charge for, say, 100 games? Managers are transient these days.. I think you might need therapy..Do you think you will ever be over Puel?

Yes but they need someone to play don't they? The global audience won't want to see Man U play Arsenal in a six team league every other week. I hope they **** of to a European league...it will be funny watching some European Giants play in a league where they have no chance of achieving anything ever whilst the top 6 then say "we want a bigger share of the pot as no one wants to watch the relegation clash of Liverpool V Dortmond."

Ranked! Premier PL fans by their annoyingness

Even if we were arseholes we wouldn't get in the top four..so why not be "nice" -
Apparently anyone without a purchase history from league 1 should be banned..so much for Ralph growing our commercial income!

It's part of the fourth official and one of the linesmans responsibilities as I understand it. The final decision is with the ref but the fourth official notes down any stoppages. As I understand it the ref doesn't stop his watch so I assume the fourth official keeps tabs of the total the ref tells him then that contributes to the final time added on..I assume the ref doesn't try to remember them all!

Can t agree with much of that..other grounds get a decent atmosphere going without any of that. We need more songs to sing and then people to join in...

The 6 second rule for keepers was never really implemented for any length of time so we have no hope for a 10 second rule to take a kick or throw in. I think the game needs less rules rather than more.. Imagine reversing a free kick because a team took too long..you'd then have a twenty to thirty second delay whilst the teams set up the other way (eg everyone had gone into one box for a kick and then had to head back to their own half of the pitch as the kick was reversed)..it would be chaos!
-
And you would be right to...

If it's that simple..why do premier league officials struggle to get the timing right now despite having a team of officials, headsets, 2 watches and an independent time keeper? Perhaps to keep the game real they should only let modern stadiums have three stands and the fourth side must be covered in nettles with a ditch. There would be no ball boys on that side...lets see Mane and aguero wading through that to get the ball back!
-
And yet, its still the same few top 6 clubs who win the league cup pretty much year after year. Granted it's occasional punctuated by a Swansea or Birmingham but, on the whole, the clubs who "disrespect" the competition still win it.

I do wonder sometimes about how far they are taking the game away from the grass roots...there is no way at a local level they could police a 30 minutes in play rule accurately, let alone goal line technology, video refs, goal line linesmen etc... The game played on a Sunday morning at some point in the future is likely not even to resemble the professional game..
-
Isn't that one of the proposals to take football forward currently being considered? 30 minutes each half of actual in play time.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40311889

I think he is a good manager but I wouldn't want him back. His teams often have this Jekyll and Hyde quality were they play great one half and poor the next or vice versa. Not that, that's the reason I wouldn't want him back, I just think it rarely works if a manager does go back..so no thanks.
-
Lol are you watching it? Man City are different class!
-
True and Conte is a rubbish manager as take away Kante, Cahill, Matic, Courtois, Hazard, etc etc he wouldn't have won the league. RK bought Mane and Pelle to the club... Face it RK is a good manager. He has his limitations and it's good to see Everton struggle. It doesn't mean what he did for us was luck or the "system" completely. I agree the set up must help but it helps Puel the same and it helps MP exactly he same...if they aren't forceful enough to get the players they want then that is a weakness on their behalf. If the policy means managers don't get input in purchases could explain why Tuchel and perhaps Marco decided against joining us.
-
Crikey if the set up makes managers performance better, think how bad Puel really was! Lol

It would create some good material for tattoo fixers.

There might be something to be said for the black box system rather than randomly chucking money around then! I suppose given the inflation in transfers (given sigurdson was a 10/15 million pound player when RK was with us and now his price has tripled) I suppose you could argue that he spent more when with us in real terms? £370 million though in,what, four years is it ? he really can't say he hasn't been backed whilst in English football can he?
-
He must have spent a considerable sum when our manager too..

Perhaps Watford are just a good side? They made Bmth look ordinary and Bmth gave City a game at home. They drew with champions elect and every bodies favourite team, 3-3 and only had 10 men against Brighton but still drew..maybe at the end of the season it may not seem as bad a result?

Weren't we right at the start of Klopps reign? Maybe not first but first few i thought? I might be recalling incorrectly just rings a bell.
