What's his excuse today?
-
But surely the crux of it is whether Sergio did it naturally, as that's what he does, or if someone "coached" it into him because of knowledge of XG..Surely if he is coached to get in a more likely position to score every time he gets the ball, he will never shoot from outside the area, for example?
-
You talk about more difficult fixtures so whats your logic that we double our points? None of it makes much sense TBH
-
I am not sure that is what The9 said?
-
How come we can only double our points but 7 rivals below us will get more than double their current total to get above us in the second half of the season? Very one dimensional analysis IMO.
-
Perhaps we only finished higher than West Ham and Swansea because they were a mess not because Puel was great? Puel has just recorded Leicesters highest ever recorded number of passes in a game or something recently hasn't he? Sort of helps your view point...and I sort of get your point but Shakespeare lost the team because of the hoof ball he was asking them to play surely? So that emphasises my point more? That Leicester team was not put together for peanuts, even the players that were bought cheap , like Mahrez who is now a 50m pound rated players, were quality prior to Puels arrival. The team still has the majority of the title winning squad. I don't think they will continue like they are but I also don't think they will finish any lower than top 8/9. Puel is OK as a manager I never thought anything different. My point about the big jobs is not about a manager of ours getting them, it's that if we were talking about a world class coach, in all likelihood he would never have been our manager anyway. ( well not at the stage of his career Puel is at..maybe a younger coach working his way up!)
-
Sorry in one word are you saying Aguero took extra touches because of his understanding of XG?
-
You live in a different world to me... Puels hand wasn't that bad..he should have tried managing West Ham if he wanted difficult off field issues, or Swansea for selling your best players you can name loads of clubs with the same issues we face. Yes it was difficult....did he produce? No he didn't whether our players suited his style or not..it wasn't happening. Leicester have never played hoof ball..they may play a long ball over the top but that's not necessarily hoof ball. Those same players also bought into Craig Shakespeares vision last season didn't they? I hope Puel does well.( I hoped he didn't last night of course) ..especially on Saturday when I hope they hammer Palace. He never seemed a bad bloke, definitely not a **** like Jose or Klopp. However if he was sooooooo good then he would currently be Liverpool or Man Utd manager but he isn't, is he? Or maybe the French national team manager? Or PSG.. You get my drift.... He is gone ( I hope he does get top four though as some on here will probably explode which would be funny! ) and there's no point worrying about him now!
-
If he is in the top 4 can we extend that please to 50 games?
-
Come off it..he was shocking...we were the wrong fit..the players couldn't play his system he was asking them to play. If he tried playing long ball at Leicester he would get the same result..asking players to play a way they can't is just asking to lose the dressing room... I hope he does well at Leicester they are a better fit, but you cannot say with any certainty how this season would have worked out for him here. He will get the sack there too..it's inevitable, they all do...how many times has BFS been sacked (the now saviour of Everton or Pardew or Hodgson or Ranieri etc etc...does that make them better or worse than the next guy? No sometimes it works for them, sometimes it doesn't..depends on a load of factors and the timing. Look at Adkins... Fell right for him here, what's he done since?
-
Obviously Benteke didn't read his own XG factor then...lol
-
Seeing as you can see what would have happened with such certainty can you tell me what would have happened if Cortese had stayed?
-
I think we may well wait it out until the summer but if Man City called in January I would let him go... I suppose the question is where is the money going? We know Kat let it be invested in the team not sure what will happen now.
-
Puel is still gone though thank god.
-
How many managers are you going back as we moved forward with each one until 18 months ago? We may well go down...haven't you realised baring the top 7 it happens to everyone... 3 years ago we were the team in fourth (where Burnley are now) and everyone wanted our model...guess what others copy it, do it better and pass you....unless you progress you go backwards... Oh and Everton took four points from the two games prior to playing us...they have some good players, let that sink in.....
-
Yes it poses more questions and never says Puel has improved him? It even says Puel had to relent from him playing in the middle as Mahrez didn't like it? Puel has done well to release the shackles but don't kid yourself this is proof of his super coaching... Don't forget he still has some way to go just to get back to the level he was already at two years ago... We aren't talking about a rubbish player who he has turned into a world beater you know.
-
But that's the same everywhere..look at Chelsea? Managers at short term now anyway and most of them on a cycle managing half the premier league clubs in their time. Maybe we should go old school kick ass with some one like Warnock! Lol
-
Way to put words in someone's mouth! Clever!!! if XG matters so much that you really believe changing the person on the end of the chance will turn chances into goals, then You are ignoring the fact that changing that individual will change any build up of the play they are involved in ( it's a team game after all) and therefore change the XG and the chances created.
-
Did you even read the article?
-
What a crock of ****. XG ignores the fact that part of the game is actually putting the ball in the net. How many chances or how good they were is irrelevant, The Kelvin game against Leeds would have been one of the most one sided XG's in history...however who cares..we got the three poinrs and that's all that matters.
-
Is that Adkins you are talking about? I am sure MP and Pardew weren't in a job when we hired them?
-
This made me smile! I hope you enjoy supporting Puel...you do know in abut eighteen months he will be sacked again don't you? No manager lasts much more than that these days...are you supporting just him or the club he is at during that time? (It's cheaper to support just him, it saves you having to buy new scarfs every time he changes club)
-
Lol did you get out of position or just not track back?
-
City took 16 games to get as many points as we did in the whole of last season! TBF they are quite a side!
