Christ when you look at the glairing chances that went begging in the Arsenal game ...should have won 3-4 --1.imo and the misses in the Watford game that we held on for ,those chances missed puts us under enormous pressure and we dont see out games very well at all atm . So when are fans going to get over ,he runs around alot?...........lol or JWP hes good on set ball deliveries... how many assists has he got?.......Give adams a chance to play with a now inform Ings.

Love it this is the sort of thinking to myself that i go through watching Saints week in week out and its arecourring nightmare atm and has been for some seasons far far back ,we always always seem to find away of shooting ourselves in the foot.

Here here well said ,your right we had some really great players who could play the game well back in those days,non of,but this namby pamby dire shyte we have got at this club right now,but proper players, and it was a harder game back then, players were actually encouraged to tackle and not to swarm around and try and nick the ball only to see the oposition rolling around the floor because thier sock got a grass stain on it. Anyone remember that tackle in the 80s Razer Ruddock and Stuart Pearce?...right in front of the dug out 50/50 no questions asked ....now adays var would have intervened and one or both would have been sent off im sure ,anyways i digress getting old just putting some thoughts down for prosperity whatever.

Felt the need not to even pick him ...........a goal against one of the supposed top 6 teams today would have been a great pick me up and a boost to all i think wed all agree.Cedric to Obafemi ...like what the F maybe Adams might have throwm himself at it at least Just seen thier equaliser didnt Mccarthy do a similar thing in the Man city game ?...........gutted right now, but there are positives my fellow Saints fans there are positives.....we didnt loose thats one of the top of my head.

As the title suggests have any of you major posters ever met up with each other?....would be interesting to know if you have and how did you find each others company? Theres an awfull lot of strong personalites on here that seem obsessed with only thier opinion as the one that really matters, just wondering how face to face meetings would go?.

He was woefully out of position for the 2nd goal ...........because now heres the ****ing thing...hes no left back or indeed a defender.who in the first place shouldnt have been on the pitch playing that position.

Totally agree Jwp every time hes on a set piece the commentators rave about the delivery.............well how many goals has his dead ball situations got us over the course of 2-3 seasons?.........at best was a sometimes used sub with Koeman, but it seems as the squad became more and more depleated over the seasons somehow hes remained at the club through good scouting from opposition squads, who realise what a limited type player he really is. As for an alternative surley we can use Slattery?....

Wow yes didnt see that at this stage of the season..........i think their mentality is one of lets be strong and battle for the team. They dont seem to have any thing different to the model of squad they had in the championship. I remember when we got promoted we just tinkered about abit but it wasnt until i think the following season we started to try and establish bigger named players. I still think Les Reid and the other idiots we had, that were on a good whack on the gravey train got lucky early on with Koeman ,but thereafter its all gone terribly wrong throughout the whole of the club and not just players. Uncle Les as some call him was and should have been accountable for over seeing the bigger picture of whats in the future and not offered such ludicrous contracts just to make a splash headline for himself and unwanted claims that were doing it the Southampton way. What way? .What we are left with now is the legacy of inept miss management and lack of ambition ,and HEART. Theres no more passion or atmosphere at St Marys on home games anymore .Theres nothing inspiring to want the fans to cheer about.Dreary side to side pass back, side to side pass back side to side oppps been intercepted tackle panic foul hoof ball. Its just dreeadful to contemplate right now and there seems very little in the way of getting excited by or about,sad really, still angry and passionate but ,maybe its an age thing im 59 been a Saints fan since my uncles took me to home games from Basingstoke in the 60s ,cried when we got relegated alongside Manchester United and cried again when we won the cup in 76.Been through tough times supporting the Saints but im now finding myself numb to these sort of results ,not sure what season ticket holders must be thinking. Whats the solution?....is there one? or are we just going through the inevitable this season?.........rant over,seems Chelsea do have some talented players who can be trusted afterall good to see,where are ours?

Its going to be the same result saturday.just depends on whether or not Man city want to score for fun,we are still bang awful no spirit at all. City put out some reserve players for sure and we still couldnt get anywhere near them. Tbh not looking forward to the next home game against an inconsistant everton,who unlike us on thier day could be very difficult to beat because we lack confidence. And we were at home thats all i keep thinking on today ,our home form over the last few seasons is well,absolutly appauling. How do you season ticket holders put up with it ,watching millionaire footballers of our club turn in at best average performances hoping to intise the crowd to participate in come on you Saints etc....but how do you motivate yourself to beat your chest and try to motivate the players likewise when they dont seem to enjoy themselves making a living chassing a leather object around the park. We as fans should not have to endure such rubbish churned out week in week out for the last 3-4 managers is there any wonder why theres no bloody atmosphere? whats to get excited about................... on the positive side of things.................................................................................................................................there arnt non sadly.

Just hope all your thoughts about the forthcoming season are true and we servive,but get back to sensible team selections and ditch Gunn.
