  1. Yeah I agree ‘kind of’ but it’s just where we draw the line isn’t it. When you watch a game and get a spanking you go home disappointed, but you know that you have to draw a line and move on to the next game. I can understand why people are upset about Nigel, I am too, he’s a top bloke and done a great job. But I understand why Cortese wants to change things and regardless of if I agree with the decision or not I respect the man enough overall to accept what he’s doing without the need to know all the details. If this new guy is rubbish and we don’t progress than we’ll have a right to be upset, but at the moment we simply just don’t know if this change is good? I agree the timing is poor, but if Cortese made a decision several weeks/a couple of months ago that it was time for change, he could have then spent some time getting things ready and finding the right person. Things may have improved slightly recently results wise, but I guess by that point the wheels of change where in motion I feel Adkins should have had more time so of course I don’t feel MP should only have a couple of months. As per my comments above, I’d have stuck with Adkins, but I’m not in charge and I’m just saying I’m happy enough with the progress SFC has made over the last couple of years as a whole to trust what NC is doing, even if it goes against some of my personal feelings.
  2. Sorry but I still don't really understand what Cortese needs to 'face up' to? He's made a business decision and acted. He's even made a simple comment on why. We are yet to find out how the decision goes, but it 'could' be a masterstroke, or it may not. IF Adkins found out what was going on via the telly, that is something I don't respect, but other than that Cortese has made a business decision despite knowing it may upset an irrational section of his customer base, but he's done it because he has a plan to improve the club and its performance long term, for that I currently have a great deal of respect.
  3. Whatever we think, he clearly thinks Adkins was underperforming, so he’s made a change. Turkish you are usually pretty objective and don’t normally buy into all this sentimental nonsense so much, so I’m not sure if you are serious or just playing devil’s advocate? But let’s assume you are serious, what else would you want him to say in a press conference?
  4. ok so then what is your product? If your product is football, then what goes on behind the scenes is not relevant to you is it? When you buy a meal you don't need to know about who cooks it, just that it tastes good!
  5. This is the one area I do agree with, IF what we are hearing in the media is true and Adkins found out via the TV that is awful. I don't disagree that this event has been handled badly in some areas. But I ask again WHY do people feel they NEED to hear a press conference on the subject if he’s already said why he’s made the decision? What more is there to say? Also where you use the word "conspiring" others would use the word 'planning’. In many organisations management should (and do) have succession plans in place.
  6. Amended slightly for you as I think even people who are behind him would agree he's already made a few clangers!
  7. You are easy to persuade Milts!
  8. In an ideal world it would be great to get a bit more information from Nicola Cortese generally and I have told him that in person, his secretary took a note and I assume filed it under recycling! But he’s been our chairman for long enough now for us to know he doesn’t like talking to the media or the fans on a regular basis (remember how we all criticised Lowe for talking too much). Despite what everyone says about his ego, he’s actually relatively shy, although clearly that doesn’t mean he’s not assertive and ruthless when required. He’s told us in a very short sentence why he’s made the decision, we all know why he’s made the decisions. Clearly a lot of people don’t agree with it, but people that are saying that don’t know why he made it are lying, stupid or just in denial. What more do people need him to do, or more to the point WHY do people seem to NEED him to do more? People these days are so soft. As for him fronting up at the press conference Friday, as has already been highlighted, that would have totally detracted from focusing on the new man, so I actually feel Cortese was right to stay away.
  9. But don't forget some people on here feel Nicola should have sent all fans an individually hand written letter detailing his deepest thoughts and feelings!
  10. YYYAAAWWWWWNNNN Man up Milts, there will be very little in the way of protests and do people under the age of 55 still use hankies? I would guess that before the game there will be some Adkins songs and then the majority of fans will get right behind the team once it kicks off! Come on mate, this is the start of a new era and it's a night game. Whilst it could all go wrong if we go a goal or two down, this could be an absolutely electric atmosphere!
  11. Is it too soon to say this isn't saints related?
  12. cowabunga dude!!!!!!
  13. Indeed, Cortese will kick himself Monday evening when he realises he's not ensured there is someone in place to act as a translator!
  14. And this differs from Neil Allen's usual stuff in what why?
  15. Curses to that Spanish forum for being written in Spanish!
  16. o i c ur itch pie too man
  17. ...............oh
  18. Sadly you'll never get to see this controversial tweet now Turkish, unless of course some scallywag is able to view it still on their mobile and get a screenshot, but that would never happen would it?..............................
  19. Very much agree with this and only time will tell us if this latest gamble was utter stupidity or stroke of genius!
  20. Which is all the more reason to believe that Cortese hasn't taken this decision lightly!
  21.
