Without being funny... so ****ing what? The UK PLC (I detest that term) dont own any Banks, they have simply bought into them. Many private companies have large loans from Banks or investors; do they not pay hard working staff bonuses? No, of course they pay them, otherwise you risk losing your best staff and ****ing your business up.
-
Exactly. You cut Bankers bonuses too much (and Im talking proper Bankers here; not counter staff, IT, Admin, HR et al) the UK will simply lose this and the business they generate. It's a fine fine line between proper governance and accountability, and over tightening and suffocation. Which is why I'm bloody glad I don't have to make those decisions and the Government (who-ever they are at the time) do. Im pretty sure, despite what is banded about on here from the far reaches of the left or right, that both major political parties would (and will) deal with Banks in relatively the same way. Both WILL make mistakes, and both will also make well judged decisions.
-
You do realise that (a) the OP talked about Investment Banking and (b) the cost to the UK of a major Retail banking failing would dwarf the outlay form the Government in keeping them afloat.
-
Amazingly, you will find that 90% of staff at a well known large retail Bank are capped at less than that (6%). Amazingly, it is these 90% of the staff that are the ones that havent taken risks, lost money, performed badly etc... they are the ones that have worked like ****ers to make sure they keep their jobs when the Bank are binning thousands of staff. The other 10%, lets not go there.
-
Interesting, but not for me. Why should Doris on the Counter, who has performed above her role not be given a nice 5% bonus? Or Tim in IT, who worked weekends for 3/4 of a year on major projects that have saved the Bank millions not be given some cash for his work? Or Steve the HR rep, he had to deal with a load of **** but still got 100% positive feedback in his reviews... why no bonus for him?

Deep Dish recorded a cover a few years back with Nicks on vocals, Im guessing this is an (un-authorised) remix from then, judging from the vinyl hiss at the start of the mp3.

No it's not. You copied the truncated text of the link, to copy the fill link you need to grab the full text from the address bar. Source: Falling foul of it every 2 weeks myself back in the day.

Said the same thing on Twitter, Crofty would be the perfect replacement. DC is, as we all know, rather proRed Bull and putting him and MB together could end up as a bit of an "old boys club" feeling. I'll give him a chance to prove himself though.
-
Yep, confirmed. Looks like DC to take his place. Party time.

Lets hope so, only hearing rumour at the mo; plus this tweet from Legard: "Life moves on. Ask Nick Heidfeld or @narainracing. You never know what's next. To the critical and the complimentary, thanks for the company" Could end up being a really really good day today.

Ha, just read the same article and came on to post that! useless BBC. Alas, they have now changed it.

Eh? Im aware of his celebration and thakn him for it; just like Im thankful for the time he spent as a Saints player... but that doesnt make me feel sorry for the way his career has gone after he started to chase the cash rather than play the game.

Is Eddie Murphy as good as he was in the first one?

Got a BB 9700 last year instead of an iPhone for various reasons. Its a good phone, easy to use and the "real" keys are top; music player is nice, semi-decent camera. Browser, screen and lack of touch are ****e though. Im jacking the contract and getting an iPhone.
