  1. This is great advice, Turks - but I suspect the problem here is one of attitude. See, she clearly knew nothing about the link between Sesame Street and the Muppets, yet was prepared to waffle on as if they were competitors anyway. To me, this demonstrates overt hostility towards management policy ( e.g. that the Muppets movie might be quite funny ) from the outset. How do you train for this stuff anyway?
  2. Last night I suggested that we put the new Muppets movie on. The missus, on hearing this, immediately voiced her dislike of the Muppets, saying she was "more of a Sesame Street girl". Now if our relationship were one of an employer-employee nature, I'd consider this immediate grounds for dismissal. After all, saying that you are "more of a Sesame Street girl" is a bit like saying "Nah, Lego is sh*t. Duplo is where it's at". However, given the length of service and children, etc - I thought I'd throw her crimes onto the mercy of SaintsWeb. P45 material? Put your crap partner stories here too.
  3. Yeah, but as your example with games so ably points out, your Lamborghini isn't able to travel on all the roads. It is unable to play contemporary games because the graphics hardware is 3 years behind contemporary standards. This is why you see Mac fans get so excited about 3 year old PC games finally turning up on their platform.
  4. The boys on the UI would disagree. thedelldays is their top man here.
  5. Look mate. Your knob is used all over the world, limply turning up in the respective vernaculars of our colonial English-speaking cousins. My nob represents the best of British. Unique to these islands, unless you play cribbage.
  6. I disagree with bletch. nob, to my mind, became the proper spelling after the arrival of non-racist comedians in the 1980s. "Knob" could be confused with other types of knobs, whereas nob stands proudly erect as an irredeemably rude word.
  7. Where? I'd like to weigh in but Barry Sanchez has insisted I don't interact with him. He gets upset.

    Top 5!

My top 5 things that I like to eat that knock the missus sick (scouse phrasing, natch):- 1) Onions (who the f**k doesn't like onions?) 2) Stilton or any blue cheese 3) Marmite 4) Beer (unless drenched in lime) 5) Brie
  9. Those who search for the "Media Hint" plug-in for Firefox or Chrome can watch US Netflix without a VPN, which means glorious HD. S'alright, Essruu - you're a Mac user. I wouldn't expect you to be savvy. *Meow*
  10. CB Fry will be able to provide directions. It's his second home
  11. Are you saying our first team is b0llocks?

    Stuck Window

I think you'll find that inadmissable as evidence, sir. The Hammer Act of 1991, drafted in recognition of global messiah MC Hammer, clearly stipulates that each depiction of a hammer must be preceded with the text "Stop. Hammer time". I've just been over to Screwfix's site and they are in a WORLD of trouble.

Also, on the weight loss thing, be careful of who you take your advice from. I put on a sh!tload of weight during 1995-96, kept asking the missus if I had. She said no. Despite the assurances, many of my so-called friends called me a fat c**t on returning to Southampton. Some people even asked "when it was due".

    Stuck Window

Super Michael; I am inclined to agree with Turkish on this matter. If this was something different, such as you fiddling the 'leccy meter, I could understand a reluctance to ring the landlord. However, unless you've fecked the window yourself ( a heady combination of masturbation and Araldite does the trick ) I think you are perfectly within your rights to get a man in.
  15. Ah, don't sweat it. They're just usernames.
  16. We should all practice what we preach. I'm certainly guilty of ye olde hypocrisy from time to time. Haven't been around as much lately, so haven't had time to delve into the minutiae of 110_Persaint's historical posts. I liked this one though. It was well-written and struck a chord.
  17. I don't actually know that much about football compared to a lot of people on here. This is why I constrain most of my opinions to stuff I know a bit about. I do enjoy reading others' analysis of the game though.
  18. Great post, 110_Persaint. Covers a lot of my feelings on the Saints. I have to say, find this place depressing as f**k sometimes. I have lots of Saints conversations outside of this forum. People on here are much more miserable about our long-term prospects.
  19. I finished reading this book last night. First and only CJ Sansom I have read. I've read Fatherland as well, but enjoyed the Brit-centric setting that Dominion has. Though I enjoyed it, have to say that ultimately, the actions of the main characters are largely meaningless with respect to the larger world that Sansom created. Resolution is brought not by their actions, but by something external - and even if our heroes had failed, little would have turned out differently.
  20. I finished Ender's Game a little while ago. Really enjoyed it. Apparently, there is a film out this year. The only real surprise is that it took them this long. Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley are in the big adult roles.
  21. Ohio, can you let us know what a twonk is? I find your terminology often differs from us UK residents, and I just want a bit of clarification before I agree with it or not. I think we're all keen to avoid an "El Guapo plethora" moment.
  22. Caught a couple of movies last night. First up, watched the original Omen. I've seen it before, but not for at least a decade. Fantastic film even now. Very creepy throughout; Gregory Peck puts in a masterful performance as the tormented US Ambassador. I'd forgotten how good it is. The other movie was a first for me, but has been discussed quite a bit on here. Miller's Crossing. It was a real gap in the list of Coen brothers movies I'd seen. Excellent movie. Laugh out loud funny in many places. I loved the scene where Caspar's lump is left to give Tom a good beating. Think this is one to buy. Can see it being rewatched a few times.
  23. New game time. Put a lot of faith in Shaw. He's played rubs. That is on YOU, MLG!

    The Brits

I now remember that song. feck off trousers and Turks. Dredger uppers of bad memories.

    The Brits

I don't think he typed all of those out. Probably a last.fm readout.
