  1. Accompanied to this music? Seem to recall Hightower never minding that crowd.
  2. See, they all wade in here with their three posts a day and play the big man around town. Well let me ask you something steeleye? How the hell to you propose to enforce the last one? Very much a verbal thing, largely confined to when you're spelling a letter out loud, and no-one really does that because you don't have to. I hate to tell you this, but internally, EVERYONE could be saying "haitch" inside their heads the WHOLE TIME, and you'd never even know. I might start doing that, just to mess with you.
  3. The Undertaker is a good shout. I remember his brilliantly named manager, Paul Bearer. I think my favourite ever Wrestlemania was the one where Macho Man won the vacant title. Ooooooh yeeeeeahhhh, etc.
  4. They all go out in fancy dress on boxing night.
  5. I'm gate crashing the cash turnstile. Have also convinced the missus to get the train and have a few beers.

    They get everywhere.
  7. I know/knew. I thought I was joining in with the fun, but now I'm having my astuteness impugned :'( What is wrong with you?

The temporal wars were a feature of Enterprise's first season. They binned that idea fairly swiftly. Have to say, season 3 of Enterprise, the whole Xindi expanse / war, is one of the best seasons of Trek ever.

More BSG spinoff viewing for me. Working my way through Caprica, the prequel series which explores the origins of the Cylon race. It's hard going, largely because the most of the main characters are bereaved parents. That said, I completely buy it as a prequel, and although cancelled after a season, I've seen enough in nine episodes to know that the rest of the series will continue to weave cool stuff into the BSG universe. Virtual reality plays a big part of life in Caprica, so although large space battles are out, some impressive looking VR vistas The drama is pretty dark. Broken people, broken relationships, religious zealots seeking immortality, etc. Good show; not sure how it would work if you haven't seen BSG.
  11. Whoosh. You only read the first part of that crazy Adkins story then?
  12. What is wrong with you?
  13. Of Monsters And Men. Great tune, got that whole male/female vocal thing at the heart of the band.
  14. It creates the circumstances for bad decisions to be made in a very short timeframe. The most prominent of these surely has to be the 2011 January window and the whole Torres/Carroll fiasco. Mind you, given where Liverpool were at the time, I think they were mental to buy Carroll. The sensible thing there would have been to sit on the 50M until the close season - so while the transfer window itself does lead to these scenarios, you still need people in positions of power to really feck a team up.
  15. All the Stoke fans I know are from Stoke, yet wisely don't live there. I feel really sorry for Butland. It's like a Sleeping Beauty situation playing out in football. Yes, you can have your swansong in the magical kingdom of Birmingham, but then you will be forever exiled to the dark realm of Stoke.
  16. Well, guess we're serious about bringing players through the youth team! Kept our best players. Still think we need a bit of magic upfront, but maybe MP feels there is a lot more to come from our current playing staff.
  17. A lot of people had their mortgages and/or debt wiped out instantly.
  18. Interesting interview here with the President of Iceland. [video=youtube;51-Jfh6ADH0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=51-Jfh6ADH0#! You may remember their banks going to the wall a while ago. Iceland took the unorthodox step of letting that happen. Four years on, doesn't seem to have hurt them.
  19. I am hoping that NC is following the example of Daniel "Happy Shopper" Levy at Spurs, with a flurry of last minute cheeky deals.
  20. Very encouraged by what I've seen so far.
  21. Rommel was up against it in Africa, and managed to kick a lot of arse until the Allies got the Med sown up.
  22. Defo, if Shaw is ill.
  23. Well he spent so much time geeing himself up, shouting things like "oh brother!" And "whatcha going to do when the Hulk thumb pins you?!" that I managed to get a quick pin in. I also switched refs, using the ref's evil twin ( believe it or not, they did the evil twin ref thing back in the day. Was awesome ).
  24. Even longer list mate. I tend to balance the downers with hyperbolic self-assessments backed up by unlikely stories, such as the time I beat Hulk Hogan at thumb wars.
  25. Try it. I might just fox you by sending you a list of all the things that are wrong with me.
