Exactly as it should be. I'm very Marmite in real life, believe it or not.

Dunno. I've been on this site 6 years and it's only really been in the last 2 years I've been able to attach much of a personality to anyone. Are people that arsed? Remember that us posters represent a subsection of the site's users.
-
I get ya, Bearsy. There is no feedback unless someone can be arsed to post about it. You are quite lucky. People come on here and say you are funny and whatnot. Me? All I have for my trouble is a new nickname, and I've only just accepted the one I got when I was 7.

If you were going to do this, I'd suggest that people rate posts as well. I do share Andy's concern. Think a lot of good posters would be buried by the idiotic mob, but at the same time, there REALLY can't be that many of them. They are called the vocal minority for a reason. Perhaps if your own rating affected the weight of your vote the ganging up thing could be mitigated

But did they ask Les Reed?

No, the website is dealing with a word, not a surname. Pronunciation of names can be a lot different. Hell, people even pronounce my first name completely differently ( you would be surprised how many versions of "Paul" I have heard over the years and if I say it like a Sotonian does, Americans don't know wtf I am calling myself ).
-
To be fair, Football Manager doesn't say the names out loud. He doesn't NEED to know how it is pronounced, Tokyo. He could pronounce Jose's name as Throatwobbler Mangrove, for all the difference it makes.

I might be up for that game, Bazza. If I go I will drive. Can't give you a lift there, as I will be making the most of being down South, but could bring you back.

Ok, how's about... You can shove Helvetica up your arse. ( we've got a font, we've got a font! ) Times New Roman's got no class. (We've got a font, we've got a font!) Anyone seen my coat?

I've got Arma 2 in prep for my new machine coming in. Haven't played Day Z yet. What is the simplest way to install the bugger?

I know someone who met his wife playing Hearts on the Internet.

You'd never know it, because there is never much of a marketing push, but the PC is a phenomenally good platform for games. Right now, at the end of the console cycle, PC Games are so far ahead, in terms of technical competence, quality of game and price that I've called a halt to all console game purchases save the Wii U. I suppose my love for the platform has a lot to do with my age and generation. The PC seems to have a lot more games that are cerebral in nature, relying less on the twitch gaming skills which deserted me long ago. Stuff like Steam makes the platform even more accessible, as anyone who remembers the bad old days of having to muck about with your memory just to get something to run will attest. Who here games on PC? Any particular highlights?

If Turks is even half the man Danny Dyer is, I am scared, and would suggest that some kind of Boys From Brazil scheme to populate the world with cheeky cockneys is happening.

Is the issue between MLT and NC a professional or a personal one?

Blimey. Lord D and I agree on something. I'm starting to think that those expecting a small commemorative plaque to be issued with every programme have never been near a business during a sensitive termination. -
You see it a lot in Japanese RPGs.

Er, didn't you call Cortese a "rat faced c**t?"

I had my girls younger than I planned, but it seems to have worked out alright. Was 20 when my first daughter was born, and was done on the producing babies front by 24. Life does end up pretty back to front as a result. Quite hard in the early years financially, was really difficult having that much responsibility at that age, but on the upside, had plenty of energy to deal with late nights and illness. These days seem positively easy by comparison. Long term, it's an extremely edifying experience to raise kids, very rewarding too. The relationship you have with your kids is deeper than any you'd have with long term best mates, and I gain a lot of strength, inspiration and laughs from my family. I've been told by loads of skint dads that the transfer of funds from parent to kids doesn't end at 18

This weekend, it's been all about Channel 4 output. First off, caught up with all of Misfits. Probably the most difficult year for this show; Skins-style, it has now completely shed all of its original cast members. No need to worry; this season has been very good and the cast regulars are perhaps the strongest group so far. Have to say, if you've never seen this and can put up with a bit of nooky, cannot recommend it highly enough. Though not strictly a comedy, it is laugh out loud funny, very British and pretty gory when it needs to be ( most weeks ). Four series of greatness awaits you. The next show from C4 was Utopia, which I am up to date on. I really like this show, but can see a lot of similarities with Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, such as the two henchmen and the world-within-a-world nature of the conspiracy stuff. First difficult was very difficult to watch - genuinely turned my stomach at one point. Last episode was very good - can't wait to see more of Jessica - not seen a character quite like her.

You're talking boll0cks mate, as you were when you said they had a more engaging vision. You just don't like Cortese. Fair enough. I get that. This nonsense at the end too, trying to win the argument by getting me to find somewhere you've said something highly specific. I already said that wasn't the case. Funny thing is, even if I had, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Personally, I think on the pitch performances would be implicit in any vision, but you want us to ignore that. They are better because the chairman is a local boy. We tried that. Didn't work out too well, and didn't see any homeboys rolling in with the readies before Cortese introduced us to Liebherr. Stick with the manager? While fair enough in the light of NA's sacking, that doesn't describe the situation up there. Think they've looked at clubs like Blackburn binning the likes of Allardyce, and thought "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". They are not making that decision entirely out of loyalty. 75M net on players, all geared toward playing Pulis' style. Any new manager constitutes a massive gamble for them. They don't know how to do anything else. You call that vision, I call it paralysis. Funny thing is, both Stoke and Saints have a "by any means necessary" approach to the game - it's just the sacrifices that each are prepared to make that differ. Cortese has no problem sacrificing managers. Stoke have no problem sacrificing football. More engaging vision, my arse. Keep digging though. Australia is lovely at this time of year.

Props for using the word dinlow, you ratbag Lottery winner on crack? Arf. Once again you're using the most superficial evidence to back your points up. Spurs have a lower net spend than ours. Wow. Could that be because they have the uncanny knack of signing players and selling them on for enormous fee? Arsenal are great too, except they sell their best players every year. You might not have said you want us to play like Stoke, but you definitely did say that they had a more engaging vision than Saints. What puts 'em over the top for you, CB Fry? The long ball? The long throws?
-
The boys at Football Weekly continually lance the "Stoke spend no money" myth. I wonder how CB Fry would feel if we spent north of 70M and still played like that?
-
They did a very good job of Judge Anderson. The right mix of vulnerability and grit, just like the comics.

There's no sex in it.
