    Green shoots?

Sorry mate, but this is just a news story that cost 30M of UK taxpayer cash. Average business loan will be about 2.5K. That to me says "one person company".
  2. Of course, when you say "we", you actually mean "large corporations that we have no control over". Yeah, yeah - I know it's supposed to trickle down.
  3. A victim of its own success and past incompetence. From a hacker's perspective, it was a dream come true in the old days. Opened up and used by nearly everyone.
  4. Mac OS X and above are based on a Unix-like system called BSD. User management and privilege was a thing on Unix long before it was standard in Windows. Prior to NT, pretty much every Windows box gave people Administrator level access. Even after that, user education meant that despite multi-user support, most people were STILL running with admin rights. This issue was mostly sorted with UAC ( the on-demand admin mode that pops up when you want to install something ). Windows' massive popularity over its rival has made the OS unsafe in the past. Microsoft will tell you that things are better, and they are, but anyone checking their Windows updates log might be slightly alarmed at the number of critical security updates that get sent to your PC.
  5. Just remember to get the Transformed version.

Anyone know many people have actually been charged so far?
  7. The Dell Inspiron 17r Special Edition is a good machine for the price. Will set you back around 700 notes. Excellent performance. Full HD screen. Nice graphics card. Downsides? No Blu Ray drive. Battery life is not superb. However, if you're going to be near a mains socket and can watch Blu Ray on something else, it's a good shout.

btw, I think it's well worth pointing out that no charges have yet been brought and that we don't know the exact reasons behind the arrests.
  9. Boys. We got us a Sega fan! Burn him! Just joshing, me old mucker. The jewel game you refer to is Columns. It was alright at the time, but has been postively superceded by the bells and whistles of more modern puzzle games. Your point about social and mobile games is a good 'un. I hope you'll allow me to chuck downloadable games into the hat. I'm always amazed when I see how few of my console owning mates have got download-only titles on their machines. Frankly, some of the best stuff has been download only, and I love how we've essentially got modern versions of our older games. I really cannot recommend Sonic Racing Transformed highly enough to you, or anyone reading this. It is an excellent racer and a total love letter to Sega. I played the first game and it was alright; competent enough but nothing special. The sequel is special. Planes, boats and karts - your vehicle shifts forms as it goes through certain checkpoints. Most of the stages really change up over the laps too (Mario Kart has been doing this for a while). Cheap, too.

I'll outline my process. I looked at Jim Davidson's CV. I looked at people who worked with him on his various TV shows, immediately discounting anyone who was too young, too old or too dead. From there a simple case of narrowing a few people down. Found someone who is 53, from Hampshire and worked with Davidson.

Like others, I do not understand why the 53 year old from Hampshire was not named when Davidson was. Are there any legal types on here who can offer a view?

Inspector pap has sussed it out. Bit o' googling. Not hard.

trousers is the least convincing right winger on here. My personal view is that he'll be running a weaving commune as soon as his financial responsibilities allow it.
  14. I'd advise all fishermen to visit Turkish's Tackle Shop. Supplier of top quality bait since 2006. Whether you're looking to land a lurker, skim-reader or that prize Johnny come lately - Turkish bait is the stuff to use.
  15. Yup, I agree. Even so, I find it a very interesting distinction. Take the Iraq War as an example. The US had an invasion strategy of "if it moves, shoot it". That is the state essentially giving licence for its troops to kill civilians. Or to put it another way; Stalin is probably responsible for more deaths than any other figure in history. Officially, he's no murderer.
  16. I do love how it isn't murder if the state says it's ok.
  17. Bold words, Turkish.
  18. You should go on Twitter.
  19. Am I on the wrong thread? I thought this was about whether we're a better side with Ads out.
  20. Not really Turkish's job is it? However, my preference would be to play Lallana BUT to have a decent understanding of how to play optimally with him in the side.
  21. Nothing wrong with the question. I like Ads a lot, but he can be just as frustrating as anyone else on his day. Funny thing is, if you'd have asked this a year ago, you'd have been shouted down in a cacophony. I certainly remember feeling a due sense of dread whenever Lallana or Lambert were out. I don't feel like that anymore. So yep, of course we miss him. Most teams would. If we come through this patch with better team performances without Ads, we'd be mental not to try and work out why that is.
  22. The law reckons self-defence is a good enough reason.
  23. He certainly won the style battle. I'm no fashion guru, but I don't see Wenger's Eskimo look taking off.
  24. Genuinely thought we were going to get mullered today, so I sat down to watch proceedings with a due sense of dread, especially after witnessing the horrors of the reverse fixture earlier in the season. I was rewarded with an excellent performance. While it is a shame not to get all three points, this is a team that beat us 6-1 at their place and scored 7 goals in their last game. Excellent to be out of the bottom three, but perhaps more satisfying is the development of the team over the season. It's Roy of the Rovers exciting to see Luke Shaw and Ward-Prowse making appearances in the first team. Thought Guly was excellent today, own goal and all. He put in exactly the sort of performance that people say he is incapable of. Puncheon is really starting to impress now. Looks good on the ball and seems to relish beating his man. Better than Lallana for me this season. This will give the boys a lot of confidence. We really had to work hard for that point, but we managed to hold our own against a team that spanked us last time we played them.

    ps4

Similar rumblings about licensing were announced back when the PS3 was up for release. In the end, Sony never took that option. Any company releasing a disc based console would be mental to put that sort of restriction in place. A lot of people depend on pre-owned for their gaming. A console that you can't get pre-owned games on. Games that have no resale value. The only place this concept works is a download only service like Steam, and it only works there because of some heavy discounting.
