Wouldn't want him to go, but £8m at 32....sure Cortese would consider it especially if rumours of us wanting to sell him for £4m last season.... However I think he's far too valuable to us than £8m, and he is a Saints legend. Personally think he would be a huge miss should be accept it.

He's more than capable of putting in decent balls though from set pieces, he just had a few games towards the end of the season when they were poor, hopefully he's been working on his consistency levels, and maybe he can channel all that talent to be a special player for us.

When has he ever looked like he's lacked enthusiasm or effort? He's a very hard working player if you actually watch him, it's just taken him a bit longer than we wanted for him to get settled. FWIW I thought Puncheon had a fantastic season last season. I didn't think I'd be saying that this time last year !

I'm not sure about 'great'. He had some solid games and keeps things ticking over, plus hes quite good at keeping the ball, but I wouldn't say he had one 'great' game for us all year.

I love Lallana, but Gaston is considerably better than him. Has much more end product, and more about him. Plus he's got much more potential IMO.
