Surprised this hasn't been put on here before. Good old Rickie wants to finish his career at Southampton. Now where are all those people saying we wanted to get rid of him in the summer... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/rickie-lambert-tells-southampton-he-wants-to-stay-at-st-marys-8491429.html

...the right blend of youth and experience
Saint Garrett replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Don't need any old heads, we have the perfect balance IMO. You could argue that despite a few of our players being quite young, they're not inexperienced. Players like Cork, Maya, Rodriguez, Gaston, Morgan & Clyne all have over 100 apps each. -
And how is that 17th position going for you last season? and our yoyo strategy going this year ?

Harsh for the u21s. Martin have away a pen in the 95th minute and wolves equalised. 2-2
-
Cropper is on the bench ?!
-
1-0 up btw, Sinclair.

Southampton U21s team to face Wolves tonight: Gazzaniga, Chambers, Martin, Turnbull, Targett, Stephens ©, Ward-Prowse, Curtis, Isgrove, Sinclair, Rowe. Substitutes: Cropper (GK), Gape, Young, Ariyibi, Moore.

Would be interested to see who Hooiveld has played against this season - and how many points we would realistically been looking at. He must have payed Man Utd twice, Man City twice. Arsenal, Everton twice, Villa, Chelsea and Wigan twice. Also Stoke and WHU away. No Forren in the u-21s but Gazza is playing, alongside Martin and JWP.

Don't think this is a 'must win' at all. Likelihood is they'll been us and then we'll beat QPR. I don't think either of us will go down. We're capable of getting a result, granted, but a 'massive game'? I'm going to have to disagree with that.

Or just keep him as backup for Shaw ?

Also noticed we seemed to line up at the edge of the box and make the charge into the box.

To the citeh fan in the sunglasses and gillet pre-game
Saint Garrett replied to alidiasagent's topic in The Saints
I went to the game with 2 city fans. And when we met them after the game they said they've not seen city fans so ****ed in all the games they've been to. Been going about 15 years I think. I guess that's what you get for a 5:30 game so far away...people are on the beers and some are going to act like tossers after a few too many. Majority were fine that I saw though. -

Saw 2 bald blokes walking round the away end going past the kingsland/northam corner shouting "thanks for the 3 points"....quite funny in hindsight !! -
I don't get it ? Is it meant to be funny? What is it aimed at?

Successful Tackles per Game, We top the League
Saint Garrett replied to Saint Without a Halo's topic in The Saints
Centre midfielders as a pair I can't think of many. Especially outside the top 6? Maybe Tiote and Cabaye. But Tiote hasn't been great this season. Gerrard and Lucas? Even Everton's aren't great...Cork and Morgan are such an immense partnership. -

Both so so good. Love them and more than happy for them to go under the radar for a few more years ! Would be huge to get these two tied down on long term contracts. Morgans is out in 2014 isn't it? Think Cork is 2015. -
Glad we have got that out the way nice and early...!! Bring back Hoddle FFS !!!!
