They clearly worked on marking Lambert though, because as soon as he came on they focused on him. I think it was a decent move to surprise the oppo by starting J-Rod. It's a tough one really, Yes Lambert is our talisman, but you can't seem to be too predictable in this league as if we do the same things every week, we'll get to the point where the goals dry up as well.

Right, Ok we've had some poor results. Yes our team is probably not good enough. Yes we should have strengthened the defence in the summer, BUT we can't affect that now. It's time to get behind the team. How did we get results the last few seasons ? How did we stay up all the way through the 90's when it looked impossible? Everyone got behind the team and made a racket. The togetherness in the last few seasons brought us up and the fans are needed. If we are going to stay up our home form will be critical. Let's get St Mary's rocking on Sunday, sell out crowd, make lots of noise and make it an intimidating place for teams to come to. Until Nigel has been dismissed, we owe him to get behind him and the philosophy and the team. It's time to come together and be the 12th man. COYS!

Boenisch is engaged to Tatjana Batinić, the 2006 Miss Austria Sign him up !!
-
Would definitely take him on a short term deal until the end of the season. He's not great, and 35, but still better than our current defenders, plus he can play LB or CB which would be a bonus.

Independent article sums it up perfectly

Wasn't really the signings that shone Saturday though was it. Diame is a cracking player, but was dreadful Saturday. Carroll didn't do anything of note. Collins isn't very good and just booted it to Carroll. The thing which has made it easier to step up, is the fact that the majority of their squad last year underperformed as they had a squad full of players who played in the prem for the majority of their career. Noble, Nolan, Cole etc. the majority of the players we have were playing for us in L1 or their highest level was the Championship before this season. It's no surprise theyre taking time to adjust but we need results now -
There was rumours of everyone wearing the LJS t-shirt as well next weekend to the game. Not sure if this is still happening. Have so much respect for Billy though, more than happy to give him a minutes applause.

There is nothing wrong with 4231, and it will work, just need to cut out the mistakes.
-
Thing is if we play 442 we'll get over run in the middle of midfield like we did Vs Wigan. I'm not sure what the answer is but I don't think it's that.
-
Jrod looked very lively yesterday, I was impressed with him, but we have a problem in that we've spent 6m on a good player, but nowhere to play him.
-
He's more valuable to us than he's probably worth financially in the last few seasons we have struggled when he isn't playing, top player.

MOTD failure to see push on Fonte - Bias??

For the millionth time on here, prem clubs cannot loan players outside of the transfer window. -
Yoshida has been impressive at CB but he's not a RB or LB. Clyne is a decent player. Fonte and Hooiveld have done a job, while LB is an issue. I still think it's more to do with how we're setting up rather than our defence in specific.

Not sure think I had the worst seat in the ground. Still think he did well. On a side note he completed every pass he attempted today but failed In all his arial duels.
-
There's always Bearsy's thread in the muppet show to make you smile!
-
Thought he played well today, great bit of play for the goal.
-
Guly, JRod or Davis for me, best of a bad bunch, honourable mentions to Fonte and Hooiveld who dealt with Carroll well.
-
Maybe this thread shouldn't be started yet with the depression of today's game, however I think we'll get a result. Bale to score but we'll beat then 2-1 keep the faith
-
Think we want to keep the ball on the floor and play through them. Might work might not, keep the faith, COYY!
-
I'm out in London with 8 of them tonight....I'm contemplating not going out if we lose heavily.

Coys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow what a bellend

Bit ****ed now, yyeeeeeeelllllllooooooowwwwwssssssssssss

Why is it his fault that the club paid 6m for him? It's not like he's particularly let us down when he's played anyway. He's been played out of position, and when e has played up front he's done a decent job, just short of confidence, I think he'll come good. He's shown enough with his intelligence and movement that he could be a very good player or us, for the moment though, get behind him FFS!!!
-
Why do people care so much how much he cost, it's the going rate, get over it. Young, English, good few seasons, bags of potential.....who cares?!

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8178999/ Although we have scored a couple this year from set pieces, I wouldn't particularly say it's a strength of ours. I'm sure they will have focused on Lamberts spin to the far post...
