  1. He did a job in L1, and failed miserably in the NPC when given a chance. Appreciate that he was there and he was a step to what we are now, but he isn't very good. Would think Forest could do better tbh.
  2. Although I agree with you to a certain extent and understand your position, it's expected that the price will go up. Lets also not forget that our team will be better than last year and the wages will be bigger. Will have to pay for it somehow! Despite this I still think football is horribly overpriced but us mugs will pay for it anyway!
  3. Mackie is involved with Hoillet going to QPR. He'll be going to Blackburn,
  4. Reading not get Cat 1 then? WHU ?
  5. What other clubs have been awarded Cat 1 then so far ?
  6. We got promoted.....The A games aren't mediocre teams anymore, it's Man City and some of the best players in the world.
  7. Did't think it warranted a thread of it's own...but Chappers off ?? Or am I just jumping to conclusions Richard chaplow ‏@Rchap04 Things should never be taken for granted! Live everyday like your last!
  8. Is Steven Davis going to be fit anytime soon ?
  9. Because he struggled for us in L1, and unless the blow to his head has tripled his ability, then he won't be good enough
  10. Yer, we'll give them a footballing lesson and send them down.
  11. I'm sure the money that the company's pay for sponsorship takes into account the fact that you're a walking advertising board for them, therefore paying the club more money.
  12. My Blackburn mate, text me saying 'he's absolutely class, surprised bigger clubs arent looking at him. e's very quick, and very good going forward, but not amazing defensively but not awful either' ..so just like Clyne then. Would seem to be a decent acquisition if we were to get him.
  13. Can't see it being transfer related. Odd time to put up an interview though.
  14. Fox > Dickson > Harding. Harding has somehow stayed in contention, not sure how.
  15. Seems very highly rated by the comments on that article and they also seem to have picked up onthe fact that we are getting linked with a lot of players from the Erdivisie.
  16. Good news for Feyenoord: 'Fun' interest, but it is too early ' Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 12:45 Stefan de Vrij will evolve at Feyenoord, despite interest from Premier League club Southampton. The defender finds it too early for a change: "All well and good that Southampton are interested, but it is too early. I stay anyway," says The Free On Metro. If Ron Vlaar still leave, then the Free the new captain. "A great honor and of course it would also be good for my development. Hopefully that once, because it looks like that Ron continues. And that is not only important for me, but for the whole team." Ronald Koeman wants his defender going to take more responsibility. In that light comes aanvoerderschap therefore perhaps a bit too early. "I need more take the lead. That's different than working on your technique or application, you can be on train. But I assert is not really in me, so it is quite difficult. But it does belong in my position. "
  17. What is the allocation likely to be ? I guess about the same as City so 2800?
  18. Dutch u-21 and was included in the prelim dutch euros squad. Used to play as a CM so probably a 'passing' CB. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/de-vrij/profil/spieler_111196.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_de_Vrij
  19. I think they'll go on general sale which means that less than say 1500 will be STH. I'll be massively ****ed off if I don't get a ticket for Arsenal, but don't really want to go to City and spend god knows how much money just to guarentee my ticket for Arsenal.
  20. I have been to alot of away games in the last few years, but with it being 4pm, on SKY, 4 hours away, a ground I have already been to twice and £50 odd quid just for the ticket, It's a no from me. Just doesnt make financial sense, I'd rather go to a few new grounds this year, including Arsenal a few weeks later.
  21. Agree 100% with this. Dorkish seems to feel the need to comment on absolutely everything whether he likes it or not. You can question things yes, but there is no reason to talk down to people or just argue with people for the sake of it. It's boring, it makes reading the useful posts long winded, and stops others from posting. You don't actually often come up with anything worth reading on this forum.
  22. That Swansea kit looks like a Read Madrid shirt.
  23. http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/story-16594363-detail/story.html Matt Oakley was all set to retire from professional football following his release by Leicester City in May, but after having his appetite for the game invigorated at Exeter City, the former Premier League playmaker is considering extending his career by a further year. Oakley has been a notable performer in Exeter's last two pre-season friendlies and the offer of a contract is not far away. All the 34-year-old has to do is prove he is over a long-standing ankle tendon injury and he will almost certainly be handed the number eight shirt that manager Paul Tisdale appears to have tantalisingly kept open for his former Southampton team-mate. Matt Oakley (right) holds Exeter City manager and former Southampton team-mate Paul Tisdale (left) in high esteem PICTURE: Phil Mingo/Pinnacle ••.."He's done that on purpose to suck me in a little bit! If everything goes well, then I would love to come back," Oakley said. "I feel good. I had a bad injury, the tendon came away from the bone in my ankle, which is quite a nasty injury, so I have to make sure the muscles around it can handle dealing without that tendon. I have to do things in stages, so it's quite nice to play 45 minutes and not get to 65-70 minutes of a game. "I have to be patient, do it in my own time and not be silly. I have to be realistic, I am 35 next month and my body doesn't recover like it used to, but as long as I am taking the right steps. "Paul has been fantastic with me and is making sure that I'm not doing anything that I shouldn't be doing; he is being very cautious with me." However, it is not just Tisdale that is being cautious, but Oakley too. He was all set to retire after his release by Leicester, but when Tisdale came calling, Oakley was keen to take things further, hence the reason he has been on trial with Exeter for the past fortnight. Other clubs are sure to have shown interest, but for Oakley, it is Exeter or nothing as he reflects so fondly on a seven-game loan spell he had at the club last season. "I wasn't looking to carry on playing," Oakley said. "I have just moved back to London and my girls are going back to school there, so my mind has been on that. I had a bad injury, I had two years at Leicester that I didn't really enjoy and then a month where I really did enjoy my football down here. "I love the club, I love the way that it is progressing and the way that they play football, so it was a pretty simple conversation really between me and Paul to see where I was. It's a chance for me to see where I was fitness-wise. Paul asked me to come down and play a few games and then take it from there." During his 18-year playing career, Oakley has played under a number of different managers at the three clubs he has represented. They include the likes of Alan Ball, Graeme Souness, Glenn Hoddle, Gordon Strachan and Harry Redknapp at Southampton; Billy Davies and Paul Jewell at Derby and Nigel Pearson, Paulo Sousa and Sven-Goran Eriksson at Leicester. Some have been good and some bad, but one manager that he does hold in high esteem is Tisdale. "I have had 22 managers in my time and Paul is one of the best that I have seen," Oakley said. "I have never really looked at getting into coaching, but I will hopefully look at the best that I have been working with. "I have kept friendly with him for 15-20 years, since I played with him at Southampton, and watched him progress with his management and his style. "I have worked under some really poor managers and coaches. I have also worked with some good ones and Paul was fantastic when I came here last time, I liked his ideas and the way he was doing it, but I was only here for six weeks. This will give me more time to see what he's doing." Oakley added: "I was at a point where I just wasn't enjoying football at Leicester. It was a tough time, there was lots of changes at the club and I came down here and saw a different side to it. There was a lot of structure, a lot of progressive ideas and good young players trying to play in a nice way." One of my favourite players at Southampton, and always thought he was under appreciated here. Hope he can maximise his career and do a job for Exeter.
  24. Sure I read somewhere that it's this week.
