Did you watch both games though? I just can't see us putting ourselves about and drawing Pompey into a battle. If we try to outplay them football wise I think we're in trouble, they've still got a V. good midfield.
-
Well, it does avoid all the pubs in town, possibly hence why they're allowed to open? Stranger things have happened. The Woolston defence league will be notified forthwith ;-)
-
As VFTT says Woolston will be fine, I've got no choice but to walk from there as that's where I live! Never been any major problems when we've played the Skates before. Can't see why that would change now.
-
Thank feck for that, I was a little worried there Andy :-)
-
Anyone coming on the trains is IMO not looking for trouble. They're well policed and there'll be spotters on them anyway. Skates wanting to kick off will probably arrive in cars being dropped off in Woolston, St Denys, Bevois Valley, Bitterne etc before joining up IMHO.
-
No idea if they were skates or not, but there was a meat wagon in the driveway to St Patricks church opposite the Bridge after the game. Unusual in recent time and I never recall one being there before when we had 30k+ gates.
-
They had a wagon outside woolston last time we played, there was a bit of a kick off at Sholing though with some skates getting off there.

I don't think most people on here really thought they would be wound up at the first hearing. It was an aspirational goal ! Seriously though, they've been given 7 days to prove they're not trading insolvently as far as I can tell from the papers and reporting of the case. And you know, if they do find massive investment in the next 7 days, fair play to them. Lee Dixon on MOTD last night, "where have these investors suddenly appeared from, where were they 1 or 2 months ago".

That was one of the original requests from the PL in regards to the lifting of the transfer embargo. Unfortunately the gutless tossers dropped it. An absolute travesty that they can sign players while Bournemouth and others have had to suffer no signings for 12+ months.
-
So they can open, but not serve alcohol until after 13:30?
-
case adjourned :-(
-
From the Times Blog..... 12.56pm: Sky Sports are reporting that HM Revenue & Customs have told the High Court that Portsmouth are "insolvent" - which basically means it thinks the club have more debts than they would be able to clear even if they sold all their assets, were mortgaged or sold. Not a good state of affairs. 12.50pm: HM Revenue & Customs have asked the High Court to either execute the winding up order today or grant a "very short" adjournment in the case. The wait goes on ...
-
Matthew: HMRC have told the court that they are owed £11.5m and the club cannot pay the debt. Wednesday February 10, 2010 13:02 Matthew
-
And if that's the plan how the hell are they going to pay the staff and other vendors who supply services! They're fooked plain and simply. That is no a functioning solvent business.
-
Risdale has turned up for Cardiff, P*mpey send the ex finance director.
-
Why the feck should they get a stay of execution. It's not like these 7.5m of liabilites have just appeared over night! Annoying but no doubt the outcome of this appointment today.
-
From the P*mpey news... Matthew: A source inside the Premier League has just told The News: 'I don't see why the judge would liquidate an organisation which even if the team are heading for relegation, would still be due to get two years of parachute payments worth about £25m. Why would you liquidate a company with that kind of money due to come in? That money could be used to pay back creditors over time. I think winding up is highly unlikely on that basis alone.'
-
By making an offer of 1.8m or whatever the amount is the judge will surely give the 28 day adjournment as they've shown willing? Personally I think it's disgraceful, more than enough opportunity to pay up. If anything, the judge should be far more lenient with Cardiff and Notts County as there's far less money swilling about outside the prem.
-
Rhetorical? Doesn't really need an answer surely Torres!
-
I agree he played well, just a stupid thing to do. That said, we need that passion and drive on saturday if we're to stand a chance of winning.
-
Because it's stupidity like that which could cost us very important games.
-
Still waiting for the dons games ticket as well, "admin error", they've lost the ticket whatever that means. Going to pick it up tomorrow.
-
Don't bring that **** redknapp in to the thread ;-)

Dune, you could have chosen any home game, it didn't need to be the Walsall game.
