Re the Good Friday agreement, can I just say that whever we are today and I fully accept that we are but a fairy step along the road to genuine reconciliation, we should, to a man, be grateful. My Dad served many tours of NI back in the 70's and we (Mum, 5 kids, 2 cats and Patch tha dog) hated every minute of it; every 'news flash', every florally codeworded bomb scare, every overdubbed silhouetted actors interview of faceless people who wanted my Dad dead, hated it, hated it, hated it. My old man is a peaceful and pensive man, but I have no idea how he and the many thousands of others coped over there. Much harder too for the locals, north and south. The culture and tension must have been unbearable at times, I have a relative who hung himself in barracks because it ****ed his head up, another victim? I have no issue with people on either side of the divide I really don't, if someone feels so strongly about something that they would rather take to arms rather than just kick back and enjoy the craic that is this life then I think that I 'get it', it's not exactly a life-choice is it, it's thrust upon people and I'm not 100% sure that it is a simple as laying down your arms or putting the past behind you. I thought for many years after Dad had left the army that I myself had put those sleepless nights behind me until one day when I was on the IOW ferry doing my wekly run to the pubs and Co-Op's of the island. Sat there with a steaming cup of tea and two slices of ho buttered toast, transistor radio in ear, I heard those two words that somewhere along the way I had stopped noticing...'NEWS FLASH'; the IRA had bombed The Royal Marines School of Music at Deal! That is the town where I was born and those were the very rooms that my Dad used to call home, those were my friends and my neighbours, how could they have done this? I wanted my Mum. I was quite shaken tbh and looked around me for someone to tell, someone to hold me, someone to tell me it would be alright. I looked around for my Mum, Mum would always protect us from the bad news all those years ago, how she fitted five kids under her wing is a mystery to me still today, but she did it. No-one around me fitted my requirements and I sat there with a tear in my eye and became pensive, I had become my Dad. People died and people killed each other, they probably still will but hopefully (God permitting) many more people whose lives were disrupted will now be able to be a little more acquiescent about the events which they cannot do a single thing to alter, it is in the past and the future is where we all have to live. I said this a couple of weeks ago to someone 'the tears of a soldier are the tears of a nation, and the tears of a soldier's sons and daughters are the tears of hope, hope that Daddy is coming home'. Many more kids can now sleep at night. As a famous comedian once said, 'may your God go with you'.

** oh yes, apart from it being our 20th anniversary not her b/day. baron de Rothschild on special £10 a bottle plus 'vesper' martinis saw to that, oh yeah plus good company. 20 years is apparently china and for that reason she got a cup of tea in bed. -------------- dead = walking

Tried a couple of the other formulas but I'm guessing that 2003 is a bit more convoluted, especially as the test file I created that worked with a few of them was done at home on 2007 Pro. I shall persevere though.

Allegedly enough evidence was seized to make a water-tight case against said person. Pure luck on his part apparently that he was not home and due to his mrs getting upset at the methods of entry used the whole lot was in-admissable. I'd guess that a lot of that info was subsequently delved into further but they obviously can't act unless the trail is totally independant from the original leads/ What with tracks quickly covered most investigations were fruitless. Not all though. The police bods must seethe every time a certain person's voice is heard as they nearly had him bang to rights. All hearsay and speculation I should stress.

Last 16 I am confident, quarters more confident in USA tbh but not yet sure we won't find top gear and brush everyone aside until a showdown bruising yellow and red card fest final. I detected a look in the players eyes at the end tonight that tells me that for once they want it as much as the fans. COME ON ENGLAND.

No, not joking, not joking at all BOYS. Think about it, were you lads absent from school the day they taught the virtues of vinegar (acetic acid). It is a miracle product with many many uses. the romans knew of it's powers my favourite being that it a cure for both dhiarhoea AND constipation. Beat that!

Mine started life for the JPT campaign, hence still have it. I am hoping that it will not require removal until we start defending it at the very least. Re the soreness, try a sprinkling of vinegar, all your poncey lotions contain alcohol, that is whay they dry so quickly leaving the skin exposed. Vinegar is alkaline and thus will actually leave the skin feeling smoother and enable the skin to self moisturise. hth

Sorted 'TODAY's date now, in our version I had to type "=TODAY ()"

Our Version is: Windows Office Profession Edition 2003. Yep it's probably way overdue an upgrade but then again, it works and it saves the taxpayer millions in new licences so can't complain really. I shal be for thenext half hour trying to get a couple of them formulae in to my test document (found it thankfully) and update my progress. Cheers again in advance. hamster

Did Dalglish come on and play a blinder? i rememeber the coins quite clearly though but re the date I thought it started in response to us singing about them getting us 9English clubs) banned from Europe and we'd have qualified? Cant' have been '87 surely? I certainly don't remember any horses in any pubs though! Then again I always stuck to alcohol for my high's. I would have been with a nipper called Ian Carpenter, owns a printers now, just like his Dad used to/does.

Major BUMP. It's been a while and tbh I had forgotten all about this little project that I was 'volunteered' for. Alas a manager at work reminded me about it on Monday and I ahve agreed to 'teach' conditional formatting to a couple of our admin ladies next Wednesday. Pride and stupidity prevented me from admitting that i had forgotten how to do it and worse still lost the file that I had practised on! Sorry all as I know you gave a lot of time to my plight. On a plus, when we opened the file, the girls had been using various formats for the DOB's. That bought me a bit of time as I needed to "go away and have a think". Gave them both the shakey-head, treatment and told them that they had wasted quite a few hours of my valuable time. can i ask again for someone to explain how I do this please? Requirements altered slightly too: I shall use the column headings for ease, and I will highlight them in GREEN if I have completed the task and RED if I am still clueless. TODAYS DATE - this is a single cell 'A2'. CLIENT REF No. - done. KEY WORKER - done LAST NAME - done. FIRST NAME - done. ADDRESS - done. DOB - is in 'dd-mm-yyyy' format. AGE - needs to automatically show the service users age 'today'. LAST REVIEW - shows the date of the service user's last annual review (updated manually by admin team in dd-mm-yyyy format). NEXT REVIEW - needs to be 1 year from 'LAST REVIEW' date. also NEXT REVIEW - the cell border, shading or teaxt needs to be amber if the date is less than 28 days away. also. NEXT REVIEW - the cell border or shading needs to be red if the date has passed. NOTE. I have explained (tried to) that if this was done in Outlook, then I could help them to set reminders and send e-mails to relevant parties etc as and when but they want to persevere with the spreadsheet method. This would need a little time to set up but imho would suit our purposes perfectly, although admittedly we wouldn't be able to print off summaries for our beloved auditors. Thanks in advance. PS i shall confirm which version of MS we have sometime tomorrow.
