This is all 100% completely true. Why is it that white people never, ever ever get the breaks in life? Or people in Western society for that matter? And disability benefits! Dont get me started! They are a complete sham. The luckiest people on earth are black and asian muslim disabled people from third world countries. They are the ones rolling in dough, getting all the luck, the women, the wine, the parties, the drugs, the rock, the roll and the highlife. This true not only now, but throughout history. You Sire are in danger of getting me off my lazy hypocritic arse to vote come May, if only you would stand in my constituency. tfic

Really? We thought it meant something else as they would call it 'hung' if that were the case. I am not disputing your answer, just surprised. By the way the pub is called The Navigation, it is at Thrupp Wharf and I just found that it is a top 10 waterside pub as voted by the Telegraph. I can't argue with that tbh. They had good ales, obviously a cellarman who knows his stuff and in spite of some people not agreeing with it, they allowed our dog to sit under the table. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM7K9F_The_Navigation_Inn_Grand_Union_Canal_Thrupp_Wharf_Cosgrove_Northamptonshire_UK http://www.navigationinn.net/pages/navigation_food.html We moored on their private mooring for the night and woke to ice, which I had to brwak with the bargepole before cracking our way along for the first couple of hours of the morning. The sound of ice cracking within the bowels of a narrowboat is a great noise, never heard anything like it before.

Every time I write a post it comes out as one long paragraph. I also have no banner and the littlke things for inserting pictures and web-links etc don;t work. I am confused and would appreciate some advice please? I seem to remember updating Firefox last week but only noticed it today!

See the other thread just now and I would like to ask the mods for a sticky please. Pretty please? Here's Saint67's request for starters (only fair imo): http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=21114 I personally have a more complicated conundrum but will consider all offers. I have 4 tickets ALL seperate from each other. I am ideally after two pairs but would consider any permetation tbh. I can offer a slight incentive in that 3 of mine are CAT3 (worth £34) in Blocks 132, 139 and 143. The other is CAT2 (worth £44) in Block 141. I don't mind taking the loss and swapping for seats in a CAT4 (£24) area, I just need to get people as near to each other as possible. Please note that this request IS NOT for me, it is primarily for a volunteer driver who has kindly offered to drive some of my Service Users in a unit mini-bus. He's doing it door-to-door as most people I work with couldn;t get there any other way (physically disabled). I just want to be able to offer him and his partner, who is also helping out on the day, the chance to enjoy the match sat together. Thanks in anticipation Mods - feel free to pass on my contact details to any serious requests.

Driving down Romsey Road last week, we noticed that The Old Thatch is shut! Not on my list of favourite beer houses, but sad all the same. Also see that the Ice House has scaffolding up but still 'open as usual'. Good old Ice House, a little gem of a boozer imo. On thr subject of favourite buildings in Southampton, Bargate excepted, mine is and always has been the RHM building, I love seeing it dominating the skyline down there.

I shall ask on this thread as I know that you foodies will know the answer. The other week at a great ppub on the GU canal I chose the '28 day AGED steak'. It was without doubt the finest steak that I have ever eaten, I always have mine rare as I believe that even the most rubbish chef has to pick the best cut to cook it rare, but there was no blood! I thought at first they'd just played safe and done it 'medium' but I was wrong, as I say it was deeeeelicious. My question is what is 'AGED' steak? Note: It wasn't that expensive either. I shall try to remember the pub's name.

That is, in my very humble opinion, brilliantly put. There was an old Hammer Horror prog that touched on this 'one man's hell is another man's heaven' slant, although they used the example of some dingy underground jazz club, with one record playing over and over and over. fwiw, I believe that (something like) a heaven and (something like) a hell are within us whilst we are 'alive' and conscious of them. At any given time we are all somewhere between the two. One inflience over that point is down to outside influeces but the primary influence comes from within us.

I think I get this B, but indulge me. Do you believe that people who would use the death penalty option based on the 'punishment' or the 'eye for an eye' logic have actually got it all arse about face (apologies for couseness)? Do you think that people's consciences and/or their guilt (be it genuine remorse or a God given thing) actually get their just desserts more by being kept alive? Makes sense to me if that is what people's motives are 9ie punishment). I also think that some (only some) don;t get the irony of that poise.

Two things: 1/ If that is all true, then how come he forgot to make them taste nice and have a nice texture, I cannot stand them. 2/ Using those same arguments, God also made BJs (thinks).

'Come on you Reds,' Car rear windscreen flag sightings.
hamster replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Maybe not further but flew the flag down the GU the other week all the way through Milton Keynes. -
Not sure that I want to know the answer to this, but here goes. Does any one know what the fate of HMS Tiger was please? My Dad served on her when in the Marines and did a world tour before i was born (pre-'64). He has some great old b/w photos of his travels plus a lovely old musly official 'Tiger World Tour' book, I love it whenever it gets dusted off.

Whatever happened to that band that had their expensive guitar thrown about as they watched helplessly from the airplane. They wrote a song iirc and the airlines share price took a whack.

Ah the ice rink. I got involved in a mass brawl with some lads from there once. They were hassling a mate of mine who was one of those types that attracts female attention without even trying, the type you hangaround with in the desperate hope that you'd get the odd cast off or the occasional Doris mate of one of his conquests. Anyway, I think it all started because these lads girlfriends kept giving him the eye but as they were with these lads he just minded his own and we just skated around. After a couple of circuits they joined in behind us and hurtled past me and my other friend and jumped him. the whole rink came to a standstill and due to my being crap on ice I bumped into one of them as i grabbed for the side, he swung round and smacked me one, knocking my glasses into the seating. He quickly apologised saying saying "sorry mate, I didn't realise you had glases on", but the red mist was already down and I had no control of my actions from that point, I punched him so cleanly on the chin that he literally went backwards over the boards. Quite possibly one of the best punches I have ever seen thrown. Now then, anyobne who knows me will confirm that i is a wimp, at the time a 8 1/2 stone wimp at that. It only took him a couple of seconds to recover though and before I knew it i was being pursued at high speed across the rink until the marshall fellas saved me. Aswell as being the cleanest punch i have ever thrown that night, I am confident in saying it was probably the fastest i have ever ran as we left and sarpered back to said mates triumph Dolomite. Happy days.
