I dropped out of my Health and Social Care NVQ if that's of any relevance. Once 'the penny dropped' re what my job was all about, i struggled to maintain interest and couldn't get down to doing the work. it was so focussed on cross referencing and one's ability to tick lots of boxes plus a few personal problems that I decided that I was wasting mine and the other scholars time and effort. Very comfortable with the decision and compiling my CV recently made me realise that I can put into words what I want prospective employers to know about me and my motivation a much more appropriate 'statement' than a mere qualification. Maybe you should ask yourself what the difference might be between two jobs; one requiring degree and one not, if it's the higher salary that attracts you then good luck but it certainly does not follow that you'll be happier with a higher income. Especially if, as I understand it, you are a true anthropologist. My tupenceworth.

I'm after a local electrician recommendation please? Testing and certificate required for electrical installation including all sockets, lighting, wiring, switching, consumer unit, earth bonding, etc. We are expecting a bit of remedial work to surface as some circuits tend to trip out more than we'd like. There's a name for it which escapes me atm but the right person will know what I need for a property let. A few of the light fittings will be replaced by standard ceiling roses too. Also, it's a big house, we want the old hard-wired fire alarm isolated so that I can remove the control box and break-glass points. Receipts required for accounts. Cheers in advance. mr and mrs hamster.

Block 18. Can't PM you. What would a full service and gas safety cert cost please? Needs to be done early December, perhaps sooner. If the budget allows and my estimations aren't too far out would like a price to fit about 10 TVR's whilst the system's drained? Didn't receive your PM btw, you can e-mail me at freewebtv@hotmail.co.uk

I have read your PM. I have replied to your PM. Have you received my PM?

Anyone recommend a decent carpet fitter in the Southampton area please? 3 bedrooms and maybe hall/stairs landing, dependent on budget/price. We need a few (approx 7) thresholds replaced downstairs too, including laminate to tile and sanded boards to laminate. We have found the carpet we like so could have it delivered but if the fitter can get a trade deal then obviously we'd consider supply and fit. I shall be prepping the floors myself. PM, reply on here or e-mail freewebtv@hotmail.co.uk Cheers muchly in anticipation. NB. Receipts required.

Vinegar eases both diarrhoeah (sp) AND constipstion and it doesn't taste as bad dd you'd think. Half a mugful should suffice.

Good luck to all those going, especially my mate Liquidshok. It's very comforting to see the club doing good work like this and spreading the good word in a way that is not profit focused. We're never gonna get global exposure from these ventures and it appears to be a truly altruistic programme. I accept that not everyone wishes to support non UK based projects when it comes to charitable use of monies but the Foundation appears to have something to suit everyone's wishes. At the end of the day it's a relatively expensive method of getting help to the beneficiaries but we must also remember that it raises awareness of the plight of those less fortunate than us in far-off lands, we can't rely on governments to do this for the greater good of the human race. When our group return they will be full of heart-rending tales that can humble the hearts of many and maybe the realisation that WE can help people that we may never ever meet in person, we can enrich their lives and therefore our own. Ironic (or should that poignant?) that they fly out on the day when this countries minds are focused on and remembers those who risked and gave their lives in far off lands so that we might be able to help communities in far off lands. I find this very touching, very touching indeed. IIRC the town has decent internet facilities compared to many regions, I'd like to see a few pics if any of you get the chance to upload them to this thread please? The weather forecast isn't good this week btw, only 31 degrees most of the week but Thursday rises to 32 so that might take the chill off: http://www.holiday-weather.com/mombasa/seven-day-forecast.html

Anyone wary can take the easy route and pray for cataracts. Better results and (currently) foc on the NHS.Mrs.h us an expert, seriously. Worked with some of the worlds top eye surgeons.Useless info: they used to punch cataracts into the eyeball with a blunt wooden dowel, it is called.'couching', Google it.

I want one to go with my new saints tattoo.

Not even close dune. None of (my) The Hexagon Saints wants to go. They're all a bit scared tbh. I have previously been involved in setting up a minibus loan scheme to enable more wheelchair using and disabled Saints fans can get to away games, but the club has reduced their capacity to 2 and I have not been contacted by the club asking to use our minibus for this match. I expected them to at least take up my offer of a FREE minibus, as a gesture of our gratitude for all the help they have given us. It's been a real slog and bloody hard work by all involved to get this bunch of fans to their almost self sufficient point. My proudest achievement professional-wise. Anyway, we don't need any of our season ticket entitlement so we are offering them to a worthy fan who otherwise would not ever get to experience the electrifying atmosphere of a derby match at Fratton. Every fan should have the oportunity to experience that. Sadly, I am neither available to push you in a wheelchair nor empty your catheter bag. I'll be watching it from the comfort of my favourite pub, supping ale and nipping out every now and then for a crafty smoke. Don't tell mrs hamster, it's a secret.

Who is Sammy Saint. I would love to be Sammy Saint for the Blackpool match. Who do I contact?
