  1. To the tune of "you've lost that loving feeling" We're trying hard not to show it, Dejan. But Dejan, Dejan We know it... We've got that lovren feeling, Whoa, that lovren feeling, We've got that lovren feeling, Now he's ours...ours...ours...wooooooh
  2. Utter tosh - Sorry mate, dont like to slate a fellow Saint, but this is a loan - Nothing to do with maximising income and certainly nothing to do with the FFP.
  3. For those that are interested in our finances, the Club have taken out a new fixed and floating charge against all assets. The previous charge has been satisfied and the same company Vibrac Corporation has been used for the new one. Whilst the charge in itself is nothing earth shattering, it does raise a few questions and perhaps suggests we are now self funding. Having downloaded (From Companies House) the charge from last year (Which I cant find at the moment) and this new one, from memory this new one seems way more detailed in regards to the terms and conditions . A couple of examples- which I am assuming is based on defaulting, appears (I am no Lawyer, so will be happy to be corrected for those that understand these things in more depth) to give the lendor control of all bank accounts. Additionally Saints had to notify the Premier league and again based on what I assume to be if we defaulted, forces the Premier League to pass outstanding Premiership money to them (Vibrac). The amount of the loan is blacked out, so we don't know how much it is for (It is quite a long field to be blacked out). The Swiss rambler believed the last charge to be 3 million, so a relatively small amount but if I am right about the two different contracts for the different charge, this loan might be a more significant amount. I have long been of the opinion that we are no longer being funded by the family or any sort of trust from Markus - Which I have no problem with at all, but it does seem that these loans are at odds with Corteses interview on clubs spending next years tv money. I am sure everything is under control and manageable, but worth keeping an eye on.
  4. Is Tom Ince a realistic target
  5. First off, I don't think many will be surprised if we lose Gaston in January, which I am personally disappointed about, but that's football. Ironically, I would guess, that it's that type of player who is top of our shopping list, but without knowing the finances, it is difficult to guess the level of player we can go after...... Although it will be considerably easier to attract the better players if we can maintain our form and league position. Over and above that, I can't see us making many more changes, unless we suffer injuries, but I doubt if Cortese will have a quiet New Year. The footballing world seems to have woken up regarding Morgan and the reported bid from Arsenal at the end of the last window, suggests they might come knocking again. MP's interview said that Lambert will start other matches from the bench, which might encourage the likes of fat sam to have a punt. Anyone that has followed Lovern will be banging down their chairmans door and then of course Luke Shaw will be linked with all of the big four. I would assume that Clyne has picked up his fair share of admirers as well. So I think we might see one in and one out and hope that the players who do attract interest from bigger clubs, don't have their heads turned.
  6. Cheers..... Actually I believed you (FWIIW) but fair play for doing something for the club (It doesn't change the fact that you subsequently called it one of rupes / the clubs top five mistakes ;) ) As I said previously we all owe you a few beers if that had a bearing on bringing him here.
  7. WTF?? Why do you think I would I bitter or jealous? If your email had any bearing on MS coming to Saints, then seriously full credit to you and we all owe you a few beers.... and some. I met Rupes on a train a couple of years back, had him pinned in a corner and the next stop was 20 mins away, so had his full attention ... He couldn't go anywhere, The bloke he was with dismissed every question I asked Mr lowe (In what I hope was received in the spirit in which they were asked) and only wanted to talk about MS- What did we think of him, how was he playing, how was his injury etc etc,...... Turns out he was MS agent. I told him he was doing alright and nothing more... that is when we were in league one, so shows how much I know
  8. Sorry mate, you can't have it all ways. You post some decent stuff on here (With the exception of the "how very dare they" journalist posts). You are the first to quote what other people have said in the past, so you need to take this one on the chin. You posted something that turned out to be utter ******** and makes you look a bit of a ***t. But we have all done it....... its when you start digging.........
  9. This is pap we are talking about. This is the guy, that just after the Lee Rigby disaster assured us that he would "Prove as fact" that the images and footage we had seen were fake..... he got my attention. He subsequently went onto to post a video that, had it been submitted by a ten year old in a multi media class, would have been ridiculed by their peers and a huge great "fail" stamped across their work by the teacher. Is he a troll, is he just a weirdo or is he someone who has taken too many drugs, that he lives his life if a paranoid state, or is he just an ordinary bloke who actually believes these things? - I have no idea, but I wish him no ill and hope he is ok, but as for taking his posts seriously, I think most of us have worked out the appropriate course of action.

    Osvaldo

And that's what make thing so exciting for me. We are where we are on merit and we know there is still more to come. For those fans at the match yesterday that were giving him some stick, they must have forgotten which player broke up and cleared utd's first three attacks. The irony for me is that the type of player we seem to be missing is Gaston and we would all be drooling if we hadn't already signed him, but were linked to him in January. I thought GR would have a massive season for us, but it doesn't look like that chance will come. Given where we are in the league, how we are playing and the tactics that MP has used to achieve that, it is with regret, that we have to respect that decision and accept he isn't long for this world in a Saints shirt. Osvaldo on the other hand will be here as long as he wants to stay and if the doubters want to carry on squinnying, fine, but they are the ones missing out
  11. Great Day Out. Not really sure where to start and certainly couldn't pick a man of the match, which was far too closely run between, Lallana, Clyne and Morgan, with an honorable mention to Davis (Who has earnt and kept a starting place on merit). Listened to Moyes interview on the way back and felt a bit hard done by. Of course it is not his job to praise Saints, but having had his shorts pulled down and his thighs slapped in his own back yard, I was expecting a bit more than "Utd should have won comfortably". I always hated Fergie, but if you tested or challenged his team, he was always gracious enough to acknowledge it. In the last three matches against them we have come away with one point. I don't think it is an exaggeration, to say the footballing gods owe us six points, but that's another story. First impressions of the game were based of the officials decisions, which were at times, quite unbelievable and didn't get any better throughout the game. Whilst largely that was decisions against us,, it also includes some bizarre decisions in our favour. Are people seriously telling me that these are the best of the best? The booking criteria was dependent on what colour shirt you were wearing and I hope Mike Jones superiors batter him with a brick for that alone. Anyway one thing that I do agree with Moyes is that the game had pockets of different possession- in a game that was fairly open, without quite being end to end. Ultimately utds opener was very lucky - A fantastic one on one save from Boruc that bounced out, wasn't cleared properly and with the line covered, the defender slid too soon, to see the ball go behind him into the net. That said I think Utd just about deserved the lead going into half time, but we were playing ok and holding our own, so the hope was there. Second half was a case of "Cometh the hour, Cometh the man", but in this case "Men". Totally totally deserved the point and with the aid of a little red wine, would argue we should have got all three (Thought we were there when Lallana was through). This is where it gets a little scary- and on two levels; 1) We out thought, out passed, out played and out battled the Premier league champions and one of the top European sides, quite convincingly 2) We are not firing on all cylinders Quite what this team could achieve if point two was addressed, takes us into territory that I have consistently mocked and dismissed on here, since the first tittle tattle of Champions league and European places have been mentioned. Without wanting to make this about two specific players, I actually think it will ultimately come down to them and that is Wanyama and Osvaldo. Both were absolutely brilliant in the first half, but the second half saw Osvaldo tire, and Wanyama start giving the ball away again too cheaply. I hope fans remember that whilst Wanayma gave the ball away 5 times (Needlessly) he probably won it over 20 times and over the 90 minutes came out top over utd's midfield. Osvaldo was getting some stick from Saints fans but in reality if he is the sole striker, has three men on him and still gets the ball on target (Albeit with a very weak shot) I am not sure what else he can do- Although I hope he doesn't turn down any extra heading training. Ultimately this is a day for Saints to savior. Forget the highlights you have seen on match of the day, forget Moyes interview and forget what you will read in the paper tomorrow. Go and look at the stats and understand that we bossed this match against a team that squad wise, should be killing us. I am not quite sure what is happening with Saints at the moment, but I do know I like it and will enjoy it for however long it lasts. One final note to the Saints fans who were absolutely brilliant. We have learnt to celebrate a "Big" goal and to have my kids with me when Saints get a last minute equalizer at old Trafford, will be locked in the memory banks for many many years.
  12. There's a bit more too it than just playing for them..... when he signed for Stoke, they had to pay Spurs a million quid..... I miss those sort of pompey transfers
  13. Have just heard the same news. A top guy that dedicated so much of his time to Youth football in Southampton. A lovely bloke and Tyro was very lucky to have him. If you played for a Tyro team, then spare a thought for Brian and his family today, as in some capacity or another, it would have been down to him that you did. RIP old feller - and thank you
  14. I think Mr Hodgson might have read that. Did anyone else think that England played a very Saints style last night
  15. Sorry but that misses the point. Just watch the atmosphere change, once a copper gets a camcorder out. Sometimes it is hard not to believe that it isnt deliberate.
  16. It scares me reading some of the responses on here................ does anyone really think the mcanns murdered thier daughter??????????? I can excuse pap, as he is a nutter, but really
  17. I am happy to be proved wrong, but never seen enough to be convinced.....seems like Moyes feels the same
  18. Please dont tell me there are fans out there that actually belive that ****e
  19. The season pompey first got promoted to the premier league we drew them in the cup at St Marys. Amazingly () 50 plus pompey fans made it off the train through the city centre and upto St Marys street, without an escort or alerting the police to their presence () It was all pre arranged and it kicked off at the Joiners. But as luck would have it, the police filmed the whole thing (Would love to see the flying bike again)....... A cynic might suggest they wanted it to kick off so they could film everything. Anyway (According to this guy), they did their bit, filmed the whole thing and sent the recordings to the usual place, which were entrusted into a die hard, no nonsense Saints fan........ who by complete accident, managed to lose / ruin every bit of footage that was taken
  20. Thats the way Zaha zaha she likes it zaha zaha Thats the way Zaha zaha she likes it zaha zaha 3'000 Saints fans on Saturday please

  23. I have huge amounts of respect for the police. They do a very difficult job, often in incredibly difficult circumstances, with their hands tied behind their backs. But I have seen too many times, when the police (For their own reasons) have deliberately created hot spots or caused ension, to effect a reaction. The transport police seem to be the worst, but I simply don't trust old bill when it comes to football. If any coppers reads this forum and want to discuss further, contact the mods and I am happy for my details to be passed on.
