You do know that drugs are still illegal in this Country? What the **** are you on about

You will never meet a man as strange as cortese. There are things that I could post that would melt this message board. Just enjoy his success.

I don't think so. I met Merrington once at a reserve match, whilst he was socuting for another team and whilst they may well have made up, it seemed clear there was friction between them (I won't repeat what he said). I think it is worth remembering that we promoted Merrington and then sacked him at the end of the season. I don't think it was Saints finest hour (He would have still had a job if we hadn't encouraged him to the top seat) .

Cortese speaking at Leaders in Football conference (10th Oct) - Live Feed
Gemmel replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think i am right in saying that "leaders in sport".....prior to administration was owned by CSI or one of the other group companies of the two ruskies -
Steven Howard; We have all done our best to dislike Southampton Chairman Nicola Cortese. At times we have been almost drowned in indignation. First when he sacked Alan Pardew. Even more so when he axed Nigel Adkins. How we then scoffed when he appointed a manager we had nver heard of and whose name we couldnt pronounce. And now Southampton stand fourth in the Premier League, reviving the good old days of Lawrie McMenemy. If Saints and Cortese go on like this, someone might have to say something nice about him.

Xavi - Le Tiss was a tremendous player, that he looked up to and loved to watch. He deserved this recognition tonight and his congraualtions came from his heart (His words) SAF - Wonderful player, highest ever scoring premiership player for his team and capped by his Country - What a career and you cant ask more than that from a player. he relived some of the goals he scored against united and mentioned the grey kit :) they then went back to SAF and asked him if he ever tried to sign him. SAF said he was discussed a number of times, against the criteria of how he could improve the team (He spoke as if it would have been a done deal if he had gone in for him - Later dismissed by MLT) but at the times they looked at him, they had Cantona, Hughes etc. so it never happened, but was always on their radar. One Utd quip, that did come out (That tickled me) was that in the 6- 3 thrashing, Schimichael was seriously ****ed off with Le Tiss for the chip and smashed up the changing room after the game. It seems that he was genuinely hacked off about it and so Paul Scholes spent the next month in training shouting "Le Tissier" as he treid to lob him and then would run off as Schimichael chased him around the training pitch.

What a great night. Always worried that these sort of things have the potential to fall flat, but the content was superb and at times insightful. Tributes from Xavi, Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Neville, Mick Channon (Plus Others) and then finished with an interview with Bally about Le Tiss. Only two brief references to Cortese, neither from Le Tiss..... who is loving watching us and wouldnt rule out a European place. A reminder of all hos great goals and feel privelaged to have seen most them of them live. Top night - Top bloke

You really do see the world as "Them" against "Us" don't you.

Not really. The Longdown estate own huge amounts of land in the County and are very supportive (from my previous experience) of projects like this. Through an association with a local junior football club, there were talks, where land was provided free of charge, if the club took responsibility of its upkeep, which provides a win win for both parties. I am not saying this is the same sort of deal, but could be along those lines and therefore it makes sense to the owners for a short lease, which can always be extended in the future.
-
I think we rent some of the land.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10727248.Council_makes_decision_on_Saints__training_ground_plans/?ref=twt I am assuming this is over and above the additional expansion plans? There was previoulsy a dome - so no real surprise.
-
I think most of us understand that all the stadium expansion talk was way off the mark. As for pricing, yes, we have probably hit out top level. Of course if that ever changes and we get regular sell outs...... (As defined by no seats left in the stadium, not a message on the OS to say the game is sold out, only to see pockets of empty seats around the ground) then the club will have the oppurtunity to increase the price again. I think the point about people watching down the pub is valid and relatively new. It will continue to have an effect and impact attendance figures.

Which time? First one (Well actually they had been in admin before) 120 odd something million and second one was 48 million (I think)

Thats simply not true

Shame Mr Webb doesn't do the same

Lallana has been far better this season, than many on here give him credit for and he obviously is on Woys's radar given his previous call up. I wouldn't fall down in surprise over a call up, but don't think it is on the cards (Injuries aside) anytime soon. He just needs to keep doing what he is doing, add a couple more goals to his tally each season and wait for Woy's boys to **** up in either the qualifiers or Brasil itself and wait for the new manager to replace the old guard.

http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=516958 It seems you are not the only one raising questions...... But the answer is of course cash flow, doh.

Ironically, the game that has put us in these heights, highlights the reason why we wont even be close. They played us of the park footballing wise...... we got lucky. Fully deserved when you think about west ham and sunderland, but today should act as a reminder of how far away we are, not how close we are.

Two teams - One lot of booze and food Both teams get dropped off at two random places and then follow different sets of clues leading to the same place.....where the booze and food is. First team back get all the booze and food, the other team get nothing. Done it twice....it certainly focuses the mind, when you have to team up with people you dont actually like, but unless you work together, you will be watching other people get drunk and eat like kings.
