Its not what I have heard - It's all that there in the public domain. It appears that Cortese is no longer a Director of the group company (That is how I read it- But I could be wrong) and the company then issued a "Solvency statement" followed by a reduction in share capital. This all happened after the showdown meeting between Cortese and Katrina. I could of course be adding 2 + 2 and making 5. But I don't think it is a huge leap of faith to think something might be happening.

No mate I wasn't inferring any connection between Barclays and a potential leveraged buyout, simply that the timing of withdrawing of our overdraft and the subsequent career path of one of the main players, raises an eyebrow or two. I do think that something is going on ownership wise, with the reduction of share capital and solvency statements, but I could be way off track. Any leveraged buy out is dependent on what the Liebherrs are prepared to walk away with. A double your money (That's a 35 million profit in less than 5 years) exit leaves us vulnerable to that in my opinion, but they could equally value it at 100 million and stay around forever or until they get what they want. It's all guess work, but very interested to see whether last years charge has been settled and whether any additional loans / charges were taken out to fund this seasons spending.

Your favourite Saints players that weren't popular?
Gemmel replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Off the original posters question, but I agree. He actually ended up playing for Liverpool (And doing very well, if my memory serves me right) but I would say Jones and Cockerill both stayed a season too long and both were very good for Saints. -

That's why I stick with this place. Had no idea about that and don't for one minute doubt it's true and the actual finish is actually WORLD CLASS,....I 'll get some stick for that but seriously think it was............ and now we know, it was on the back on of a lean spell....... He was saving it up :) -
Have you got the one about kidnapping >>>>>now that would be worth the main board

No mate -You were a shareholder and not a creditor. ......SUCK ON THAT WISEMAN

I think so, but it will be in the public domain if we don't. And assuming we do, there is still a fixed and floating charge on assets of the Club.

Markus paid 13 something million . Whether that was the end figure or the less the Surman fee is not known. All creditors paid in FULL with the exception of Aviva and Barclays. Aviva received an additional 4 million on us getting promoted to the Premier League. Fag packet math's suggests they may have been paid their original outlay( Certainly not the interest that the original loan would have seen) and Barclays, Well I hope they took a hit. They deserved to. As Dubai phil will tell you there is more than meets the eye on the part they played. I am absolutely not in the know, but not impressed with what I have subsequently heard (And assuming it is true). That said, we would not be where we are now without all the above taking place. How much are we worth - Great question: 1) Golden Share 2) TV Revenue's 3) Players value amortized over the duration of their contracts 4) Youth players 5) Property 6) Stadium 7) Training Ground That funny little farm that nearby land has been released from green belt and Oil companies are sniffing around. 9) Size of the fan base 10) Sponsorship It's a tidy sum alright, but we might just find out very shortly. Something is happening and we would all do well to keep an eye out. Question; How much would the Liebherr's want to walk away? - Of course we have no idea, but a double your money deal could easily be supported through a leveraged by out. This is season may well be more about the off field Saints, than the On field Saints

I think this stems back to the opening day of last season, when we took the full allocation and didn't come close to selling out. The club have to pay for unused tickets that they take an option on. The fact it was on a Sunday, was over 50 quid a ticket and live on Sky, were the mitigating factors, but it feels like the club have been burnt and are not taking any chances

Interesting thread and regardless who you would or wouldn't have in your team, it is clear we now have very different options that can line up in a number of different formations. Amazed at the number of people that have dropped SRL. I'm not saying the are wrong, just genuinely surprised.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-23935317 Wow - Do we have a higher percentage of toe rags or just enforce policy in a stricter fashion? It seems a very high number. In my day, a suspension of exclusion was a really big deal and very rare.

It's a must do Jackanory - Did it back in the Eighties so cant really help you with best way to buy tickets etc.....But enjoy - loud as **** when they get going.

25% of his appearances from the bench - I stand by my statement - He couldn't hold down a first team place. 10 goals in 39 matches, is not the return from a championship player looking to break into a Premiership team, who are looking for a top half finish. That said I liked him as a player and thought he probably should have had a chance. It didn't happen and now if someone wants to buy him, it will be on our terms. -

Happy to be proved wrong if that is the case, but seem to remember a run of games when he was on the bench. I thought it was for a while, if it wasn't, then - as I say, happy to be wrong. -

I'm certainly no "clappie" alpine, but I can't see what the club have done wrong. I would even add that I thought Sharp deserved a chance, but it seems MP doesn't. Nothing wrong with that and he is the manager after all. Couple that with the fact he couldn't hold down a place at Forest, it suggests MP might be right. As for offloading him, this is everything the Club said it would be. The deals will be done when it and they are right for Southampton and to date, they quite obviously haven't been. It could be down to the fact that Sharp wont put it a formal transfer request to forego his signing on fee and settlement. It might be that he simply won't drop his wages and that he is the problem in all of this. -
Henry Winter @henrywinter 3m No Defoe, Caulker, Wilshere, Sturridge at #eng training Looks like Lambert might be carrying the hopes of the Nation in the next few days.

I must be missing something. This preverbal "Selling" club, have just come out of a transfer window, having signed three international and renowned players, for club record fees , signed the brightest prospect English left back on contract and kept the vultures away from our top talent. This is Southampton, not frecking man utd, so for me we have done incredibly well. I read Nabil Hussain tweeting that clubs were finding it difficult to deal with Southampton over Billy Sharp - That roughly translates as we are not doing it on the terms the buying club wants..........Boo ****ing hoo and long may it continue. I think that most of us can see we missed out on one target - The number 11 shirt. But for his hamstring injury I think this would have been Piatti, but the same rules apply for when we are buying as well as selling. It has to be on the right terms and in the best interests of the Club, or its no deal. I lose faith in this board and some Saints fans everyday, but would just encourage to doom merchants to cast their minds back to where we have come from. We are not a big club and are punching well above our weight to bring in the players we have done.....AND to keep hold of the top talent. Fantastic window and congratulations to all at SFC. -

Indeed it was. The only small consolation is that other clubs seem to have bigger numpties than us. -

Gemmel replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
That's the only to look at it. And for the record, it wouldn't have been anywhere near 25%. Typically somewhere between 10 and 15% of the difference, so more like 7 million..... Which is obviously a lot, but not quite as soul destroying as the OP's 21 million. -

Half my family are Brasilian and it its a wonderful country, but not without risk. The advice about being polite and not flash is spot on. You will be fine, but limit the amount of cash and jewelry you carry.
