  1. Basra is in Iraq.
  2. I struggle to see how it will deter serious violence in P'mouth - The very long 50-coach convoy will be very hard to police along it's entire length and a sitting target for Pompey's lowlife and thugs as it crawls through slum suburbs and into the town - it could all end up looking like the road to Basra! Coaches bricked and Saints pouring out of the coaches to retaliate. Utter mayhem.
  3. Saints have always been largely ignored by the media since I started following them in mid 70's, except for a periodic patronising feature about how well we are doing at the time considering we are a small club from leafy Hants etc. etc.
  4. Spot on.
  5. Forest certainly seem to be making a Miele of it all...
  6. Just hope the FA don't come calling for the England job in a couple of years!
  7. Trouble is for us exiles, the petrol + food+ booze + ticket (s) comes to getting on for £150-£200, more if the misses and daughter come. I have to pick and choose games due to the cost much more now. There are probably quite a number in a similar position. I think that the golden age of the Premier league and the filter-down effect it had on the Championship has now passed, it is cyclical and in recession like the rest of the economy. You can also sense that the transfer market is tanking, save for the very top world class elite players who command Man C/Chelski/Moan U/Barca fees.
  8. excellent write up and a hilarious reference to Rickie's girth about the waist!
  9. top top top top top of the league!
  10. shaky start
  11. Reading - for throwing razor edged discs at us at their place in 1978. Man U in the cup.
  12. I understand perfectly how things work thank you. Almost all the "overheads" you mention are fixed and pre-existent. Do you not think there might just be a teeny weeny bit of profit in that £3 for every 'free' voucher?
  13. It is sharp practice by the club, and wrong, it must be a bloody heavy big voucher to cost £3 postage. The absolute cost, however small, is irrelevant. I sympathise with the OP on this one.
  14. I am afraid that all it proves is your undeniable ability to decipher alcohol-inflected Glaswegian.
  15. An articulate and considered response, not a short brush-off. (I suspect he cut and pasted sections from his Post Incident Report to the Chief Super though)
  16. Schadenfreude.
  17. The radio 5 live reporter said it was literally like watching Brazil in the first half with our one-touch passing game and away strip...he was drooling
  18. He is bionic.
  19. no need to panic. still on course for the prem
  20. I think it is horse ****.
  21. He just ain't a Saint. Some players never could be.
  22. Not a moment too soon, judging by the infantile content of posts across forums on the net in recent weeks, not to mention the appalling spelling and lack of punctuation one has to contend with.
