Thank god for Troy Parrott. Azaz came back from that international break a completely different player.

Would we have won the league with Ramsdale and Onuachu?
Saint_clark replied to SaintsRoyalty's topic in The Saints
I'd give up mate, people on here are blinkered when it comes to Onuachu. Was he poor at Prem level, yes. Are we playing at Prem level, no. In the handful of games he played in one of the worst prem teams ever last season he managed to equal the amount of premier league goals Armstrong has scored in two full seasons, yet nobody questions that Armstrong is a very good player at this level. -
More than two ok dates and one good date.
-
Sounds like that's on the players then, as I was saying.
-
The players were getting to the point that Toussaint outlined in his post. The five at the back is exactly the same, last two games we played worse and today we played better. Still was sacked early because fans changed against Sports Republic and they couldn't have that. If he'd been given time we'd have seen the same progression. Today - 31 shots on goal Swansea home - 28 shots on goal. The difference? Not the formation or the style of play, simply the composure of the players on the pitch.
-
Funny that we're playing the same formation and system as under still, creating the same amount of chances but players are actually putting them away now. Ekhart will end up getting it now.
-
Downes, Downs, deeper and down...
-
Of course. Cheers Baz.
-
That'll do pig.
-
Stephens trying his best to spoil the performance.
-
You may be right, but we don't need him to be a prodigy for him to be able to do a job for us.
-
Harsh, hasn't he only made one sub appearance for us? Bit early to write him off.
-
Guess it wasn't the players missing buckets of chances or making individual mistakes to give away stupid goals then.
-
I'm not at all. As much as he showed flashes of brilliance he struggled to properly make an impact at Prem level. If his advisors actually cared about his development at all and not the fastest way to make money, they'd have told him that a season or two in the championship would have been ideal at this point in his career. He could even have run down his contract and then got himself a nice fat signing bonus on a free.
-
If they really had no idea who they were going to go for, surely the sensible thing to do would be to keep Still in place while they quietly begin searching, simultaneously giving him the chance to turn it around but also knowing they have the new man ready for when they pull the trigger.
-
Former Saint Aaron Martin has stepped into management with Havant and Waterlooville. Shame about the choice of club but good luck to him otherwise.
-
Its amazing isn't it. If we'd kept Still and had those two performances/results how different would the discourse on here be.
-
Whoever the new manager is, can the Northam please stop encouraging them to do the embarrassing fist pump celebration after every single win.
-
Bunch of pricks kicking up a fuss because they were being asked to play a style they didn't like.
-
I can't, we have Jander, Charles, Romeu and Downes in CM. Unless Downes is leaving which i'd be fully behind but even then, Jander and Charles have so far cemented their first choice status for me, I wouldn't want JWP coming in and almost certainly being chucked straight in the team over one of them.

I suppose the one benefit of Eckert winning games (as long as it continues) is it means Saints could hold out and see who else becomes available as the season goes on.
-
If he isn't unsighted then he's facing world class shots that no keeper in the world would stop. Apparently he doesn't let in easy chances.
-
Yeah, I'm not sure I'd count the likes of Salisu, Onuachu or Bella Kotchap as part of our worst ever team as they had all performed at one time or another, whether here or elsewhere.
-
McCarthy is shit, but Baz is worse. Put the best keeper in goal and sign a better on asap. This is also the reason btw that McCarthy doesn't get the same type of reaction when he makes a mistake as Bazunu does - because there are no better options.
