  1. Interesting article on the role of directors of football in transfer negotiations; https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50086438
  2. The entire sport is using this kind of data, just because we're doing it badly doesn't mean it doesn't work.
  3. Agreed, but it's also not comparable in terms of it's implications for the wider population.
  4. 100 people having swine flu is an outbreak. 1 person is an isolated incident. No-ones saying that having that 1 racist person is acceptable, but when it comes to punishment you just punish that person - when it's a much larger percentage, it requires more widespread action.
  5. Jesus, I thought he looked half decent for them against us and was relatively impressed, didn't realise they paid twice as much as we did for Sir Rickie. What an atrocious waste of money for that level - entire promotion winning teams have been built with much less.
  6. I thought the same, but i'm not sure whether it was a case of not wanting to give up the score line (would an abandoned game result in a replay or an automatic 3-0 win to England?), or if they decided at halftime that with the way the game was going they wanted to play on and destroy Bulgaria to humiliate the people in the stadium.
  7. This is the trouble, it's all punishments that don't actually affect the fans. They won't qualify for the finals anyway so even a points deduction wouldn't do it. And until their society moves on and the government condemns it, things won't change anyway...
  8. Even funnier from his wikipedia;
  9. Their "ultras" dressed all in black with faces covered disappeared from the ground at halftime as well, no doubt to set up on the England fans route away from the stadium. For a nice friendly chat, you understand.
  10. If there's someone at Bournemouth in a head of player recruitment role we should look at them, their business from the lower leagues has been outstanding - it can't all be Howe!

    Ross Wilson

Bertrand-Van Dijk-Aldeweireld-Trippier. Blimey. Would that have been the season Leicester won the league as well? Could have finished in the top 4 as all the usual top teams were abysmal that year.
  12. He's probably got some soundbites ready for when the clips get replayed over and over if they do. I hate how commentators all try to emulate the "AGUEROOOOO" moment nowadays.
  13. In Eastern Europe. Where racism actually IS a problem. Racism is not an issue in this country bar one or two idiots a season. People who claim racism is "rife" in British football need to take a look at nights like tonight and realise that actually this country is way ahead of the curve.
  14. Calm down dear, no I didn't. Just went back and it is encouraged, but still doesn't change the fact that countries in Asia and Africa are still polluting at a much higher rate. Worth pointing out your article referred to specifically India and China planting trees - I was talking about Asia in general and certain African countries, Nigeria being one of the worst, and their levels of pollution.
  15. To be fair, you do get the opportunity to pay for food if you pay to get in.
  16. Being one of the top 12, 14 clubs isn't achieving anything mate.
  17. Just read up on that...mental. Seems like a really easy way to commit murder and get away with it.
  18. That sounds right. We had some cracking routines in that time, very inventive and scored some great goals - and that at a time when you'd expect every freekick within 30 yards of goal to be a shot from Lambert!
  19. Fair enough, he did it against Villa as well (although apparently he didn't come off injured as there's no mention of it - must have been another keeper/incident where they got injured as well). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30077226
  20. Fair enough, not sure who Adkins was referring to then but I definitely remember him saying that. Guessing whoever it was is long gone by now.
  21. With Van Dijk first half of the season and a huge dip in performances after his injury ruled him out for the season...
  22. No, the most likely scenario is he's trying to get out of his obligation to buy the remaining 20% as agreed and she's taking legal action to force him to pay up. Possibly he thought he'd have some mates buzzing to put money in by this point, but none of them do as we look like the team that's playing the worst/slowest football in the Premier League.
  23. It was away to Villa, got injured doing it as well and never looked as good after that.
  24. What happened to Change UK, I thought they were the revolution.
  25. Personally I know that humanity can make a difference to the climate, but until people start lobbying Asia and certain African countries, there is really no point. I'm sick and tired of being told repeatedly how we need to make changes in this country when we're a drop in the ocean compared to countries out in the east.
