It won't be at the expense of Rooney though. The strikers should be Vardy, Kane and Defoe going by this season, with Rooney included purely because of who he is.

In comparison to every other season in our history, yes. We've just been very spoilt to come so far so quickly. Look at it this way - this season we've taken a step back. But how many steps are we ahead of where we were 4-5 years ago? I think we'll improve again next season, get some money in for the inconsistent/disinterested Mane and Wanyama and go again.

Fonte has been solid but nothing more this season. I hope we're looking to get someone in his position next season with him dropping to the bench.

Clearly taking the p*ss making him man of the match as 3 or 4 of their other players deserved it more, but yeah he's proving to be another solid Prem player.

I know he was put off by the player rushing in - but with the angle of the cross theres no reason he couldnt run towards the ball and grab it before it got anywhere near the player.

From the moment Fabregas played Costa through when they should have given the ball back, it was like a switch had been flicked with the Chelsea players and they were cheating as much as possible. First thing that happened after that was Costa went down screaming and flinging himself everywhere, with the rest of the players surrounding the ref and getting him to produce a yellow.

I've never seen anything from him to suggest his attitude is anything less than top class to be honest.

Would be an excellent signing and should be the goal scoring midfielder we've wanted. I know he doesnt score all that regularly now but as you say, in the Davis role instead of playing deeper or shunted out wide he'd be fantastic, he has a great work ethic and we have seen him score quality goals anyway. If the club really do see Juanmi as Manes ready made replacement then we can definitely afford him as well once Mane goes.

It's not one person though is it, it's every single person who was there. Erm...guessing you didn't go. Every Dutch person i encountered over there spoke excellent English. A lot of places are taught it as a second language from an early age. When we played them at St Marys, weren't they chanting "you're sh*t and you know you are" or some such...?

Absolute joke tbh, I was there and that echo article doesn't match what went on at all. Apart from being factually incorrect and completely misleading, I find it annoying that they try to make out that somehow spoiled the entire thing...it didn't in the slightest. Entire trip remains probably my favourite memory as a Saints fan.

If you check their forum one poster suggests the high agent fees is sign of wrongdoing from the board, to which others reply that other clubs are more suspicious because they're "keeping the figures off the books". No, they just haven't paid that much to agents...it's league 2, i'd imagine a lot of players represent themselves.

Spurs are perfectly capable of winning the league with the calibre of players they have/can attract. I'd be stunned if Pochettino left personally, leave for United and win the league all you're doing is restoring normalcy, win it with Spurs and it's a big, big thing.

This is a very good point actually. I wouldn't be against making the League Cup football league only...however, if you give a Champions League spot to the winners you pretty much guarantee you'll never see anyone outside the top 6 win it again.
