We had no such problem under Adkins last time. He even tried being a bit TOO ruthless and dropped Lambert for Rodriguez first game of the season.
-
Our crossing is improving. Brees ball in for Bednarek was brilliant, it's the main reason i'd stick with him next season in the Championship.
-
The key is being more ruthless when we DO go up. The likes of Armstrong and BBD we KNOW can't do it in the Prem, so when they bang in 20 each next season, sell them on for £15million each to a promotion chasing championship side and put that £30million towards a proper striker in the Prem for £40million.
-
Would make sense. We've accepted relegation now, get some money in for him, possibly consider selling Dibling if he's not going to extend his contract and we can get a bit more now than in the summer, hold all the money back for summer transfer budget.

Just watching the 3rd season of Sunderland till I die, Stewart features heavily. Any updates on him? Is he 2 weeks away? Do we reckon he might actually be useful for us next season?
-
Yeah he was out the team a long time but I think he came back in later and actually made himself quite vital to an upturn in form.
-
Yeah fair enough, I did type out a different response but changed it so maybe I should have removed the quote.
-
Exactly. It's why I'd keep Bree as well, a right back solid defensively in the championship and with a good cross on him. Very much in the Danny Butterfield mould.
-
Don't know why you expected that of Armstrong, he's never scored more than 2 Prem goals in a season. Archer probably would have 5 if he'd started every game. Inexplicably dropped after he scored earlier in the season.
-
We won't be overhauling the entire squad and it would be silly to try and do so.

I noticed that. Thought I was going to get lynched when I brought it up.
-
Armstrong and Fraser? 😂
-
Would start Onuachu here as even though I don't think he'll have much success against Burns and Botman, I'd rather a quicker forward like Sully or Archer coming off the bench fresh when those two are tiring/complacent. Onuachu also does deserve the benefit of a start after getting his first goal.
-
We lose the midfield a lot because our only proper centre midfielder is Flynn Downes who is an above average championship player at best.
-
Send him back to Pompey to properly condemn them.
-
Is there even such a thing as an illegal approach for a manager? I know you technically need the clubs permission to speak to players (where did that rule go the last 10 years?) but I don't think such a rule exists for managers.
-
Looks decent. Hopefully we give him a decent chance and don't just give him 15 minutes here and there, then write him off when he isn't instantly a world beater in a much harder league.
-
What? Shaw didn't play a single game for us in the Championship.
-
Utter nonsense.
-
Dan Fox was a great fullback in the Championship. Sugawara will be brilliant and will be a stronger player when we come back up. We have been spoilt with the likes of KWP and Bertrand in fullbacks that are good at both ends of the pitch. Those are rare, especially in our budget range.
-
I'm convinced the reason long range shots and goals from corners are dying out is because this new breed of uber possession managers want teams to ONLY train playing the short pass. If someone shoots from distance in training I can imagine them getting called out on it and told to look for other options instead of giving the ball away.
-
Genuinely think he'd be an Ade Akinbiyi and bang in 30 goals.
-
Am I misremembering or was it a corner goal as well?
-
TP with a great knock down to the edge of the box but we're so alien to that kind of play that nobody gets on the end of it.
