As the other thread was locked at the request of it's original poster, this one can be reopened. Another thing that's worth remembering about Adkins is that he's still a relatively young manager, and whatever his achievements to date he still has a lot of time to improve. So any faults he may have had - perhaps waiting too long to make a sub, or changing things around when it wasn't needed - can easily be eliminated.

This is confusing to me, considering when he signed Adkins told us he was "a fast winger with a great cross on him".

I think we'll stick with him, but I said today that he'd messed up the biggest chance of his career so far. He could have made the number 1 spot his own in a team as close to the Prem as you can get without actually being in it.
