Watch the all angles highlights on Saintsplayer, it's definitely not a penalty. Lambert heads it past the bloke, the ref only gave it because the blokes hand was up, it kinda looked like he touched it and the Northam (myself included) went mental about it. Who says fans don't directly influence the game

We do. I thought the same until I heard it on some highlights last season, and every now and then after a goal I do catch bits of the music.

All he said was that he thought it was time we left it behind - which we then did. It's entirely possible that he had young kids that were confused or even upset by that chance - jumping to conclusions, I know, but no more so than your theory about him being "protected".
