He would be a perfect signing. Like Fox and Cork are upgraded versions of Harding and Hammond, Cox is a superior player of a similar style to Barnard.

You do realise that Chaplow, Lallana and even Guly for most of the season count as the midfield, right? As well as Holmes and De Ridder who have both scored this season. Anyway, i've never thought of Cork as a more offensive player. I've seen him as an all round, box to box midfielder who is slightly better defensively - when he played for us on loan he mostly played at CB and we all raved about him.

2 goals, and he's rarely scored because he's always been told to play deeper.

It's not like Guly has never played up front before. His best form for us has come in that position.

Just because they're similar players doesn't make him good enough. I personally think Beattie is long since past it.
