  1. he'll screw it up of course. BUT he does have the chance to win two golds in one day. That's would make SPOTY less of a walkover for Wiggo
  2. What an astonishing day of TV to watch. I've been here 19 years & this is the first time a Sat channel that I have (or a time zone) have let me watch the Olympics. Somewhere deep down I'm convinced I've seen more Gold medals in one day than in my entire life before landing here. Wow, just wow Rowers Cyclists & FFS the athletes. Oh and you know what - with all our oversized women these days around the pubs & clubs, cannot be long before we find some Olympic women Shot Putters or Discus throwers
  3. The golden era was when I was just a lurker. I started to post and...............
  4. Dude you are SO right. My bad - was in the pub earlier and we have a weird mix of taters & was surrounded by Yanks Lebanese and worst of all - Jocks - it was a Yank tater for the girls and he was - yeah well you know (Although, TBF we did have the bloke who isn't Ron Pickering but is also on the Beeb for the Athletics)
  5. How many ST's have we sold to that part of the world?
  6. As long as you have a CLEAN club I'd agree with you. Still not sure that will be possible though
  7. Golf - the lads SHOULD be able to take part in the Olympics - having spoken to many of them they REALLY want to be a part of the "global community" rather than hacking round some look-alike course in America. Personally I would be VERY disappointed if they have normal tournament Medal play, they really should try for a Match Play format - ie the lads play for the team not themselves.... Rugby 7's - well I like to think I played like a 1/1,000.000.000th of a part in helping get that into the Olympics. My best mate here is the front of house/Entertainments MC/Director for the Dubai 7's We had the normal Dubai 7's and they arranged petitions etc. Then Jacques Rogge himself came down & did an inspection for the World Cup and all of us in the crowd put on a helluva show for him - my mate was in the thick of it pulling a couple of stunts & gags (mainly to do with the Player procession & Camels we'd dreamt up in the pub the week before. Whatever - it worked and the 7's in Rio will be a great couple of days to be at. Back to reality though, what another great day for Team GB, shame about the girls soccer, thought they had a chance of a medal. And well, who'd have thought it eh? A Brit through to a final at Wimbledon for the first time since??? Well, since a couple of weeks ago. Like London buses - you wait 60 odd years and two come along at once. Good luck to the lad. He may have a chance after Fed's epic. But happy to see Gentleman Roger win (He's another in the long & boring list of sports stars who have bought D_P a beer and asked for Life coaching advice)
  8. Watched in Pub awesome performance Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  9. We'd be no good at that, we can't sit down to do it
  10. Huge improvement on the old mess that passed as a web site. Looked fine on Firefox BUT, the site can be improved and let's hope it wasn't a one off project and that they keep working on minor tweaks all season
  11. = an interesting angle for the FL. FL did give them a get out clause in their offer of a Golden Share "unless come to a separate arrangement" The FL's problem will thn be that they have driven a hole in their own FC rule for others to bend and exploit in the future. Might be interesting to search the REALLY small print of the FL offer - did they keep a "reserve the right" in there somewhere? IF they didn't then their lawyers are idiots and the FC dam will have developed a crack that could become a torrent. Fair play to PST if they get a deal done, it won't be their problem going forwards (they'll have enough of their own)
  12. Still cannot believe for one minute that CHinny will agree to the deal as it stands. In fact it gives him the perfect response from a PR perspective... "The trust are limited in their funding so it is better for them to retain the 2.75mil to help secure the future of the club and I will rent them the stadium at a cost of 1mil a year fixed for 3 years (while the trust take responsibility for maintenance)" His 18mil stays loaded on the club (by dint of never ending rent due) he retains an asset that he can leverage or sell on. Nothing else would make any sense. PST won't like it but as it gets closer to the 10th CHinny is the more experienced poker player

  14. It can then be leveraged, chopped into little pieces sld to Americans and used as collateral for the PTS bid to take over pcfc and make sure they are closed down
  15. Why is it eerie? We've been for almost 11 hours. They're much closer to the action, they probably need medical attention
  16. well, seems that things are moving forwards down on the Island of Dr Moreau. In fact looks like they are a step ahead and technology is speeding ahead of the rest of the UK. In fact, our Dubai based spy ring can report that the PST are so serious about their Public Image they are going to no expense to boost their image. In fact we can report that they have even commissioned a special photo shoot at Nottarf tomorrow. Yep, the Mobility Scooted is getting an appropriate local upgrade Dubai Saints are proud to bring our fellow nutjobs yet another PTS scoop of the PST arriving for their Press Conference
  17. Oh welcome back Doc. Give me a Dalek any day........
  18. S1 yes S2 not on here yet and not available on dodgy DVD in Bangkok. Started wobbly but got better & better
  19. Reading this thread and the comments I have this image stuck in my mind of the PST "Board Meetings" You older posters will know exactly what I mean when I say... PST - just think of Citizen Smith & the Tooting Liberation Front. Power to the People. I bet one of the geniuses that came up with this plan wears a cardigan, smokes a Pipe, has a beard and wears Brown Suede Hush Puppies as well

  22. Twitter James Pearce [h=1]James Pearce[/h] [h=2]@Pearcesport[/h] BBC Olympics Correspondent. Been covering London 2012 every step of the way for more than a decade. This is an official @bbcsport account. Journo who keeps an eye open. He tweeted everyday about where to find tickets in the build up & continues to let people know The official site are releasing several thousand tickets for the next day every evening. I guess you may need to be registered on the Locog site (locals can advise)

  24. Possibly because no Londoners are there at the moment - either on vacation or working from home!
