  1. Can we get past the first 2 minutes?
  2. Sell Out. COYS
  3. Been the same all season, but then we still have to use a tin can and a length of string down here
  4. Gor blimey right palaver getting Saints player up and running today Far more F5's and choosing other matches than usual but anyway running now!
  5. They employ people who wish they had been important in life and let you know it They appear to magically have scales at the airport that turn your weighed on 5 machines exactly 6kg hand luggage into something weighing 8.2kg They have no sympathy ever They have made Stansted Airport marginally worse to visit than nottarf Krap home end wearing a Saints shirt They refuse the universally accepted standard "Quart Sized" back for your liquids and insist on charging you 2 QUID for a back that will not even accept an approved single 100ML Deo Spray Mind you when you fly from Europe HOME with them they are absolutely fine They get you where you want to go and if you plan carry on only you can often BUY gear when you land cheaper than to check in a suitcase. It works I just love to hate them
  6. And I thought I rambled incoherently at times
  7. I have no idea about China but certainly over here you have to be incredibly careful as the law states that IF you give first aid and are NOT certified then YOU being the last person to "touch" them are guilty of Manslaughter. No excuse for what happened in that clip, but my son & his mates were surfing & pulled 3 guys out of the sea, saved two but one didn't make it (last year made the papers etc) Anyway as soon as they hit the beach, those not knackered by the rescue had to basically carry the others in a sprint to their car as the Police had arrived and with one Dead Guy the 3 of them were looking at 5-10 year Jail terms. Stupid laws may be an excuse here and the driver had no idea he was being filmed. Hit & Run accidents happen everywhere unfortunately
  8. An hour is very tight UNLESS it is the same airline. They will have the min connection time on their web site. I fly a lot and get twitchy bum at 90 minutes Zurich is an odd layout and you may have to wait for the train then go through security depending on the gate allocations which can make it very tight. Check how many flights a day they have though as being autumn you don't want to get fog delayed out of Brum and spend a day in Zurich - that'll cost you the savings just for a cup of coffee
  9. You have as they say a PM
  10. For anyone travelling in the future I use this to compare hotels & deals before travelling, have used them for the region http://www.asiawebdirect.com/ http://www.latestays.com/ Also passed on to friends who have had nothing but good results. Latestays are great for last minute & special deals. You can also book airport transfers and the like through them if you aren't confident of the local taxi service. Trip Advisor running alongside then helps with the final choice
  11. Lol, that was quick. Clearly they were taken by surprise at clotrill's move.....................
  12. GEOGRAPHY OF A WOMAN & A MAN... Between 18 and 22, a woman is like Africa - half discovered, half wild, fertile and naturally beautiful! Between 23 and 30, a woman is like Europe - well-developed and open to trade, especially for something of real value. Between 31 and 35, a woman is like Spain - very hot, relaxed, and convinced of her own beauty. Between 36 and 40, a woman is like Greece - gently aging, but still a warm and desirable place to visit. Between 41 and 50, a woman is like Great Britain - with a glorious and all-conquering past. Between 51 and 60, a woman is like Israel - has been through war, doesn't make the same mistakes twice, and takes care of business. Between 61 and 70, a woman is like Canada - cool, self-preserving, but open to meeting new people. After 70, she becomes Tibet - wildly beautiful, with a mysterious past and the wisdom of the ages....an adventurous spirit and a thirst for spiritual knowledge. THE GEOGRAPHY OF A MAN... Between 13 and 80, a man is like Iran - ruled by a couple of nuts.
  13. Was having a pop at the article not you. Also I do not and will never defend the actions of a bunch of chancers and crooks and also a bunch of very nasty people who exploited and ripped off this city and the people. The ISSUE is that the article is bad and it is preaching from an unstable moral high ground. Seek first to understand is the mantra. People here DO work to try and stop that exploitation be they locals or expats or Foreign Embassies/Consulates. BUT the issue is much deeper than just some bimbo getting a free trip, and that is why I pointed back at some of the historical high quality work done in the past 5 or 6 years. Exploitation of the lower paid workers BEGINS in their home countries. They pay (for them) fortunes to Illegal Recruitment Companies and Agents who promise them jobs in the UAE. They ship them in and give them to the crooked employers in this country. The agencies retain their passports and most of their salaries until those loans are "repaid". They are illegal in the Asian home countries and they are illegal here. It is Human Trafficking, just they are doing labouring work not sex trade work. It is a global issue. Where Corrupt Capitalism exists so do the porr and the exploited who are desperate to have electricity in their villages and a future for their Children. Malaysia & Indonesia introduced legislation in their countries that tried to stop their poor being exploited but the people STILL find ways around it and STILL get hurt. Writing poor articles to justify Business Expenses is as crooked as what these evil traffickers do WORLD WIDE. It glosses over the problem and does nothing to help those who are trying to do something about it. Did she mention the Bootleggers who supply alcohol into these camps and bury people alive in the desert for running up debts or trying to stand up to them? What Nationality are all of those exploiters. They use illegal immigrants to do their illegal work and leave them to their own when they are caught. Did she mention that? All we can do is to establish businesses, give people a fair return for their value to the business and seek to develop them as people and in their careers. We can (and do) also refuse to do business with those companies blacklisted or even reputed to be exploiters. We could AND DID also try and tell the hordes of idiots flying in from Europe that the Property system wa corrupt, built on sand, illegal and gave no rights or prrotections. Oh no we were idiots for not getting on the gravy train we were told as the Daily Mail gave away free flights to buy your dream home in the sun and zillion percent profits. Again, NOT a dig at you but at that silly cow. I hate sloppy Journalism as much as I hate the skates & bankers. Greedy Europeans bought much of the property, and now THEY try and Preach? They fecking CAUSED much of it. FFS talk about double standards, THAT is why I get annoyed at this stuff, and why I ROFL every time I hear another sob story
  14. Sometimes Time Zones are a pain in the butt. This time it works perfectly. First half will kick off on the 18th Second half will kick off on my birthday. I know what I want for my present! 3 points please
  15. No wonder the world seems to take the p1ss out of Grauniad readers. That article is just so badly written and about 3 years too late. She doesn't even have her basic facts right. >75% of the population are foreign workers not 25%. She fails to mention that the managers exploiting the workers or mistreating the maids are in most cases ALSO foreign. What she misses AGAIN is that EVERY foreign worker in the UAE is OWNED by their employer. SOME employers are good and some are bad and some are downright criminal and corrupt. (But of course exploitation lack of human rights, employment criminality and corruption never happens in the UK Tanya? Cockle Pickers in Morecambe Bay or this lot http://articles.cnn.com/2011-09-12/world/uk.slavery.arrests_1_slavery-british-police-british-investigators?_s=PM:WORLD ) And of course, $150 a month with free food and accomodation is exploitation of someone who lives in a village in Nepal or Bangladesh and got by without any employment and any social security support) Looks like she jumped on an incoherent rambling bandwagon to justify her expenses which she used to travel down here to see an old friend. There have been hundreds of FAR better articles on the subject, some of them also in the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/global/gallery/2008/oct/08/1 but written by people with some level of intelligence and who did some basic research http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7985361.stm Is the first that came up on google. There have been major threads on this in the past. These articles were part of a bash Dubai because the Brit Blingers lost their money in the scams down here backlash. BUT they did also initiate change as they were at least articulate This is much better quality journalism on the subject out there, it should not be new news to anyone. If it is then I better point out that the world is going bust, supposedly Democratic systems have corrupt politicians and Saints are top of the nPc Oh and if this stuff worries you best just stick with employment in the Public Sector 'cos the real world ain't very nice anywhere
  16. Seems to be a race to get away from nott arf these days. First it was a trickle of fans and then a flood Then the management joined in Will the last person to leave the building please turn out the lights. Oh, they won't have to, 'cos at this rate they ain't earning enough to pay the Electric Bill (again)
  17. Nope. My sister used to collect Trolls with all that coloured hair back in the days before the Internet. I can assure you that they were all gender neutral and were referred to as an it
  18. To have a stream for the game. Big thanks to Saint Clark for finding it for us regular DM listeners. It gave us a chance to see once and for all how far we have really come on as a team. Yes we all enjoyed the first game of the season against Leeds but watching how we applied relentless pressure, and the short passing moves for a second time just showed that we weren't a flash in the pan. We do look the real deal, we aren't world beaters by any stretch but felt a huge pang of jealousy that you regulars are able to go and watch us play football like that week in and week out. Now, if only our midfielders could take the chances that our forwards are setting up for them
  19. Still think his actual decision making is what lets him down. It is starting to worry me, that he is getting run outs but is not yet coming across as having a great footballing brain for someone with so much natural ability and pace. Maybe it's because he's playing alongside smarter footballers in RL, DC & AL. Guly had similar moments in his first season and has improved, and I am sure that DR will as well, just feel that it is taking him a while. Certainly the pace adds a dimension against tiring defenders but I think there is more to come, which is why he isn't getting the starts yet
  20. Rickie, when I said pull my finger I didn't mean THAT fecking hard
  21. Nope That use of the English language was pathetic
  22. At one point I was seriously wondering whether it was actually a Saints ST Holder doing the commentary. He was so positive about us. BUT the key thing is that we deserved his praise. I've heard him doing other games over here and he calls it as he sees it. We played DAMNED good football. There was one spell of pressure in the first half where we played 15 or 20 passes lookig for the weakness. The troll doesn't get it because it only understands hoofball and even though there was a link posted it didn't bother to look at it. There IS one criticism of this style. It IS total football. We don't need "another striker" what we need is for the likes of Chaplow and Morgan to actually take the chances that THEY are being given by Lambert & Connolly and for Guly to develop composure like AL has. When THAT happens we will be unstopable in this league Lambert doesn't have the pace and the aggression, but he showed today that he has so much more to his game and brain than any CF I have seen in a Saints shirt for a long time. But from the commentary I'd agree with the choice of Fonte as MoM he was immense this afternoon. Cork was just class, and it was mentioned more than once. Damned annoyed to be missing this season now. Stupid goal to give away at the start, to relaxed or not focused, but after that? they probably had 10 or 15 minutes of football in the game and a few up and under chances. As for the troll. He should go and support the mancs. Then he'll have some company as he slits his wrists tonight
  23. 7 minutes? Time to get 4 then
  24. She was out with us last night - you chose to work
