On a plane back to Dubai this morning watched a BBC Film called Frequently Asked Questions about Time Travel. Absolutely barking, and certainly helped pass a good 90 minutes or so of the flight 6/10 just for the whole concept that Time Travel can get you so fecked up and can happen in the Gents of your local Pub

Think it will become a different game if that happens though. Clearly a second admin in a year will lead to sanctions, the 10 point penalty may be more (think there is precedent for that somewhere in these 714 pages) It then clearly shows promotion won't happen and any fast gamble has failed Sale of players won't happen as it is outside the transfer window, they could be dumped but they won't get sold as that could give other buying clubs an unfair advantage picking up players outside the window And then the real questions have to start to be asked by the proper people. Why did AA think he could pull it off? and a whole can of legal worms could open up in front of Hacker Young. So yes, plenty to keep us from our own ups and downs on the pitch by the sound of it. Not good for the very few decent few (again)

I got my ex missus one of those fish fiddling things last year. Was REALLY hacked off they wouldn't put the Piranha's in that I gave to them at the time of booking

Typical of the Aussies All they can think about is beer as a solution to everything. Dudes, sorry beer ain't gonna be strong enough you need a few Bullfrogs & JaegerBombs

OK, this is starting to get freaky, it is still another 15 days until Peace Joy Love and Harmony is really needed (hug) But what the heck Happy Christmas one and all. Because after the last couple of days of interviews and reports from our ST stars. It really IS going to be a Happy time to be a Saints fan. Until the next dodgy result

BBC annoyed with Daily Echo over Saints coverage
dubai_phil replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
The Echo is a wonderful publication. It published my letter about Portaloo without cutting a word and put a nice big box around it. I truly believe they are wise and intelligent mega beings. After all, they must have READ my letter before they published it. Which makes them STILL the only people to have ever read anything I have typed. (And it also did work as JP was resigned the next day which remains my other footballing claim to fame) -
One final thought on this snippet. Think someone should have pointed out that actually NC has finally noticed the fundamental central point of the British Psyche, not just us Saints fans. The Whingeing Poms syndrome as the LOSERS down under used to call us. It does often come as a shock to Johnny Foreigners. Turning the club around is feasible, making us challenge for honours in the PL will take a helluva lot of work, but changing us into Optimists? Jeez, if he does that we'll lose him PDQ as he goes off to the UN to solve World Hunger, turn Al Qaeda into a Capitalist Hedge Fund and turn Portsmouth into the European Capital of Culture in 2014. OK maybe he can do all of that except the last one

Let's face it, ain't that many (of us older chaps) on here who wouldn't want to be linked to Berlusconi - if it got us invites to his parties.... This doesn't mean I condone his actions, just it would be a far easier way of being surrounded by fit young fillies than running around a Golf Course Stalking oops sorry, Marshalling the Dubai Ladies Golf all week...

Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?

Isnt it time to name-and-shame "the group behind the scenes" ?
dubai_phil replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Alps, without documentary PROOF or a source who is prepared to go public and put their name to the allegations then nobody can post their names nor even speculate. NC IMHO has no choice, he has moaned about it and moved on, we should too. As fans the only thing it does it keep us on the alert for attempts to do real harm to the club as opposed to people rightly holding "non-happy clappy opinions". The internet and it's security these days is such that there simply is no way that anyone could or SHOULD put themselves at risk by putting forward speculation or even logic as to who it could be. -
OK, not quite up to the critical reporting standards of John & Greg but good enough, thankyou The Coffee & Cheese issue is still a worrying gap, and leaves room for the conspiracy theories to continue. Did they omit Cheese on purpose? were they economising to raise funds to bring in two Owens from Manure in January? NC not making European Coffee Machines mandatory throughout the club at every level, is this part of the aspiration stakes? Will ST holders have to aspire to become Uber ST Holders to qualify for real coffee? Great times with only these (albeit important) issues to worry about. Cheers SG

bringing through the talent - and keeping it

We need an exciting, new and innovative approach to ensuring that Academy players continue to develop into first teamers. Maybe there is a template we could use? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2005/nov/01/sport.comment  -
It's all about the Cheese.

Spudgun, this was a DINNER PARTY. Appalling report, you should be ashamed of yourself. Have you NEVER even accidentally seen an episode of Come Dine With Me, The Restaurant or MasterChef? How many courses were served? What were they? How did you rate each course and the quality of the food overal? Did you have to use Salt & Pepper on the table or were the dishes "Perfectly seasoned" How attentive was the service? Did they know the orgins and details of the Ingredients used? What was the choice of Wines? Did they offer a choice of Beer? Was Magners Available? Was it American Style Filter Coffee or has NC's influence extended to the provision of Espresso, Latte etc? All critically important, after all we once had the finest cuisine in the world at our stadium, and these reports are vital in monitoring our resurrection back to our rightful place in the Champions Leagues of both Football and Catering. And also critically important in understanding how far the Swiss/Italian influence has spread. The Cheese Board Contents could have told us so much.

+1 Leadership is a strange science. Too woolly and things drift along, too dictatorial and you get Rupert. Single minded pursuit of an objective with good people around you giving their expertise into the plan? Could work. Seeing the interview, and also Spudgun's (ALMOST) excellent post dinner report (he forgot to tell us what they actually ate!) convinces me that we are heading in the right direction. If we needed one thing cleared up that spoke a thousand words it was the Rickie performance issue. Pre-Season was wrong. (I put my hand up here as being one who felt we didn't do enough in pre-season post WGS, I have been shown to be wrong, we did more and it had damaged one of our key players) For those who worry about disgruntled employees, go read some articles on "Implementing Change Management within an Organisation". NC has implemented MANY changes. Human beings in the main don't like change, especially in their work areas. But the critical thing is that the OLD ways had taken us to League One. So one helluva lot of things HAD to change. Now the ONLY question I see that hasn't been asked is ... What do we need to do to Rickie to get him back to his proper level of fitness instead of being broken?

They are people who have their own personal ego and money at the front of their motivation. I've bored people to death about it, nice to see NC confirming it. No, it is not us lot on here and no it isn't former legends, it (IMHO) is just some people who to me seem to have a stroke of malice inside them. One day the proof will come out, until then, I'll wait, because when it DOES happen they'll deserve everything that comes their way.

Think I may have posted once or twice a line in a Chris Ryan Book about the rules of Engagement in Iraq... "Never Trust an Arab" Tourism Minister - Yes the water is safe, go for swim now. Ho hum. But clearly, Mossad captured an Oceanic White-Tip, scrambed it's brain with electrodes, and then told the Aussie Ship Captains to dump the dead animals over the side... Well, historically I CAN confirm that at Eid each year this region devours a zillion fresh Sheep in their ritual slaughters. The Sheep are transported in conditions that make a Baby Seal Clubber seem like a tree hugger and they chuck the dead ones overboard to reduce the stink. That attracts the sharks. It happened down here and although we avoided any attacks the local waters got a bit feisty for a while. Mossad only did it as a test for the CIA's specially trained Goldfish that are going to swim up the vents of Iran's nuclear reacweaponsfactorytor water cooling systems and blow it up. Cunning fiends these Mossad boys.

Well. it ain't me. I'm too busy stalking Lady Golfers again this week, so that leaves Eric. No wonder he didn't have any OSH left in stock when his kids csame over, he's cut back to 4 crates a month so he can buy us. OK I joke. It's the Qataris. They read the forum avidly and saw how keen we were to become a WC stadium for England's failed bid. They then saw NC wants to move to a new stadium, they need some for 2022 and bingo, there it is, simples

Sweet. Think that is called a crushing Victory. Shame about losing Broad, but the way the Aussies are right now I reckon even I would be too much for them in the next test with my 25kph occassionally on the wicket Donkey Drops From Boycotts' email via Torygraph from someone on Twitter "Rolf Harris, Dame Edna, Kylie Minogue, Shane Warne, Crocodile Dundee, your boys took a hell of a beating!!"

OK which bit? The date bit? I think they were looking earlier than that, that was the point I was making. Apologies for not being clear, yes it was a heavy weekend and a 5am start today to catch up work. Logic dictates that NC could not have "held a close relationship with ML" (according to Leftback's posts) if he was a totally useless Investment Banker who didn't deliver. So it makes sense he had a deal with Markus. Reaching the PL would potentially value a debt free SFC at around 150mil against a buy price of around 15mil. NC was on a DEAL to make a profit. IMHO I firmly believe that in the early days when they saved the club, they would have looked to turn a fast profit IF it had been possible. I would guess that around May of 2009 such rumours could have been doing the rounds. The FACT that they did not sell is (IMHO) down to the fact that ML started to enjoy his investment more than someone not paying top price for FF's Mansions. The "Someobody with a grudge" leaked it to cause damage bit? I've maintained for some time that "Dark Forces" exist who still seek personal gain from getting into the club (NO, not LM MLT, others from our non Rupert past). I did LB a disservice by accusing him of being a part of that, but I was wrong he was much closer to the club and IMHO had our interests at heart. The Sun got hold of a rumour. SO that means it was NC or the Liebherr family, a "Source close to the club" such as someone with standing or a past relationship with the club OR an (ex) employee who The Sun would give credibility to. NC has dropped two senior members of his team that came in with him and a bunch of AP staff, makes more sense it was one of them rather than D_P's conspiracy theory
-
Your dates are out FF (IMHO of course). Why is this coming out now? First - it is and always has been obvious that NC was on a deal or bonus or otherwise to get us back to the PL (he sold that dream to Markus). The reason will be that he would be due a substantial bonus. He did not exit the world of Bankers and big bonuses just for fun and frinedship, there will have been further motivation. So, SFC have been up for sale from the day they both arrived at the club. The issue was simply as FF so eloquently says - The Price Speculation as to why this is now "leaked" when it has been (thanks to the basic principles of Capitalism) fairly clear from word go AND other TSF posters HAVE commented... Disgruntled Ex Employees. Leftback talks of Training Ground ex employees. But there have been others - Whatever happened to Mr Oldknow for example, or the back office ticket office or finance staff. Someone is doing this and most likely to hurt someone IMHO

Been a busy weekend so only just got back on here to read through some absolute Gems, especially the UHY report stuff. Having been a very beery weekend at the rugby 7's a couple of magic moments Friday night was at Karaoke with the waifs and strays (and my house guests) there were 3 or 4 Skates giving it large and noisy in RB's. D_P guzzles an improbable number of Bullfrogs afater a day on the Green Tins and gets dragged up to sing the last song of the night - DayDream Believer. The DJ being a mate suddenly realized I had changed the words in the last chorus and switched the mike off to get the crowd to sing along just as I launched into cheer up Poopey Few, oh what can it mean to you Fishy Fiddlin......... Saturday Zimbabwe were playings someone and the tater (Damien Hopley) keeps referring to them as Zimbabwe Cheetahs. The DJ crew are all mates and one is a Skate so off goes a text saying he can't use that name anymore as a Football Club has trademarked it. In their next game, dear old Damien mumbles out in front of 30,000 people, blah blah blah for Zimbabwe, can't call them the Cheetahs anyomre apparently it's too close to the registered name of a football club. Cost me a couple of pints but DAMN it was worth it......

No idea, but it damned well worked. Huge surprise that we won it. We left before the Fiji game yesterday 'cos we thought no way we can come back from that and beat Fiji who'd looked really good. Arrived this morning to find about 20 Aussie fans in front of us and so opened up with Georgeweahscousin's joke about the phone call to Ponting in the dressing room... got a whole bunch of cold stares back.. We then were losing to the Aussies in the QF with 6 seconds left and cross the line for a winning try with 0 seconds left which brings out a chorus of Can we play you every week..... Then of course the taters kept updating the score and the Aussies got grumpier... Then astonishingly we beat the Kiwis - Aussies came out for the Plate final or whatever to a chorus of "Is this the consolation prize for LOSERS... Then Samoa who'd been great no hope in the final we thought. Mental!

Surely if this were to happen then just one affected creditor should be able to bring the whole can of Sardines crashing down by asking why AA did not achieve the figures he proposed. Everyone on here knows the answer Players wages
