  1. I had a very nice Manicure & Pedicure on Monday thankyou very much. It cost me 3 pounds 80 pence all included. I then had a very nice Oil Massage and it cost me 18 quid with a smiley middle
  2. Just for the record, I wasn't advocating getting either Stock or Antonio in. I was responding to a point about Antonio having been an AP target. HTH I think we should now be looking for better, and also for a replacement for AoC when everntually he makes the step up to the PL with or without us
  3. However, considering the many hours of arguments and debates on here about the structure of the club, the Manager's role, and the whole backroom staff/Les Reed stuff, perhaps it may be fair to say that the same crew helped to bring in (and recommend) Chaplow, may also still feel Antonio (and possibly Stock) would fit the bill?
  4. Ah, so you allegedly know Fonte's missus, allegedly
  5. Big lol at another No Ball wicket, then we get into a strong position then KP plays a stupid shot with just under 5 overs to go. Big difference if we'd gone into day 3 only 2 down and 110 or so behind, but now we need a knock from Colly. Delicately poised is the cliche I think, 350 plus is needed after letting the last couple of Aussie wickets get away from us, and it's a long way to go if the ball keeps swinging for Siddle et al.
  6. Which is Hussey & Smith.... I'd be more worried about Hussey & Haddin. Thing is the Aussies built a lot of their planning into stopping Swann & Pietersen, and completely wrote off Jimmy Anderson & the rest of our pace attack. They panicked into picking no hoper left arm spinners to stop KP and produced English Green tops. And wonder why we retained the Ashes. In many ways, it's been a series about "The ones they didn't give any thought to" Trott & Cook. Hope they can both finish the job off when we bat would be awesome if one or other could beat Hammonds record runs aggregate in a series. Not for any disrespect to the great man himself, just to make their tactics, selection policy and planning and coaching look even more stupid And of course we still have time for Swanny's big match
  7. Back in the mid 80's the BEST club in England was the Tuxedo Princess under the Tyne Bridge in Geordie land. Used to get up there about 4 times year. was an awesome place (a converted North Sea Ferry) They also had an onshore club called Tuxedo junction which was good fun as well. before that back in the day, then the whole Glenfern Road experience in Bournemouth - 3 clubs in a row, jeez what were their names. Since those days, thought I'd become way too old for clubbing until I came here and can truly say we still have one of the best clubs around Chi at The Lodge, I haven't been for a year or so (it became damned expensive) but my lad still goes and loves it. We also had The Peppermint Lounge which was awesome for a few years. Went on a cracking & completely random bender there with Gordon Ramsey, saw Pete Tong & Amren Van Buren there and got stabbed in the leg (by accident) one evening when some fat cow fell on me and I demolished a table full of Champagne glasses. Took me 2 or 3 minutes to work out that the squishy feeling in my shoe was blood (LOTS of it) from the hole in my leg caused by the stem of a Champers glass sticking out and not booze. Still pulled that night as well, not bad for an old fart. All of those were a far cry from the delights of "Bentley's/Raffles" and "The Grange" in Salisbury back and whenever - arrggghh On the subject of Salisbury was at The Chapel a few weeks ago, not changed much either although the music had improved with The Zucchini's playing
  8. So you don't rate Bart then Ron?
  9. I've always been a huge fan of the FA Cup. Next Saturday is made for a Giant Killing. And yet with the cancelled games to be replayed just for once I'm starting to wonder whether giving a few of the fringe players such as Gobern, Martin and having some of the promising youngsters o the bench may not be a bad idea. Putting a weak team out and getting a tonking may harm the feel good factor in the squad, putting out a decent side and winning (or getting a draw and another game) may not be in our best interests, even with the depth of squad we now have. Tough call. Do we give AoC a rest or do we give him a big stage to see what he really has? is just one of many sub-plots. Will Guly get it all together, tear them apart and get nicked by Chelsea?
  10. Well, I said in the build up thread that I did agree with Alpine - this was a traditional banana skin, and a game last year we would have likely lost. I said we needed to battle for the right to play our football and from the commentary I heard it sounded like we picked a side and played in a way to do just that. Sure we managed to get a squeaky bum moment or 3 and yes I was damned annoyed that the forum decided to shut down again - obviously it is all my fault as I've not been able to get on match threads for a month and I posted a picture. But surely, with "small away grounds and many fans wanting to be on here to keep up to date" shouldn't they be on the match text commentary thread? The match thread is an important part of the soul of this forum, it gives us a laugh whether we play well or badly. Where else can we have a good smirk at the postings of our ANTS sufferers without getting told off or infracted for having a pop at other posters? If the bandwith really is about the picture posting then SURELY the Mods/Admin could get their act together and pre-set each match day thread so that images cannot be quoted and reposted (just the hyperlinks). After all this is a Saints forum and we do have advance notice of when matches are taking place (although sometimes we have to start our own) Great run of results over the Christmas period. Very good use of his squad resources by NA and picking teams for conditions. Only things left to moan about are the forum melt down and the as usual drop outs of Solent when the Daggers were working fine all game. And, from the commentary, well played Guly. Thought I saw something in him when I saw him play and seems he is settling in, not that many Brazilians make it in English Football, I hope we might have found one
  11. Liverpool - ah yes the team that will have a new manager in a couple of weeks with Woy on Gardening Leave. More likely Comoli is scouting NA than AoC at the moment unless Dalglish is being given 3 years to build a new team to challenge
  12. Had 2 trips into Asia in last 3 weeks - 1 for work 1 for hols so have stocked up on about 40 dodgy DVD's at a quid each (never buy the newest mobvies with the hand held in cinema stuff) Boxing Day watched The Expendables - was well worth the money I paid for it, daft enjoyable nonsense in a good old fashioned sort of way. This evening watched Unstoppable. Now that IS a great Action Movie and really well filmed in that gritty rainy hand heldish camera sort of way. Denzil must have some thing about trains. The padding was predictable and slushy, the plot was limited - train running away idiot corporate VP type making dumb decisions and a couple of losers, but I tell ya, it's a cracking movie that even manages some old fashioned edge of the seat moments even though you know what's coming. Cracking Yarn 7/10
  13. Hehe. To Junction 9 - feel real bad about my 2 tkts as well. Did the whole registration but couldn't get online the day of sale as was flying. Mate in Uk who was coming with us said he'd sort it. he queued for 4 hours, got through entered the details on his Credit Card (they don't accept Debit Cards for overseas customers. Went to pay for his ticket - would not accept a credit card on his registration and it kicked him off the system... He re-queued for 3 hours and - biff sold out. He'll join you in the re-sale queue. Mind you 2 years ago I got one the resale way - kept hitting redial and F5 and to my surprise got through, although there was a bit of an anti-JayZee thing that year and even HMV sold tickets in the last few weeks before the event. Didn't work in 2010 though
  14. hehehe http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...ruin-life.html
  15. Close call on post of the day between this and the AL yellow card for upsetting Alpine...
  16. It's sooo important now that we keep looking for that second goal, we don't want to sit back and let them back into the game Thanks Dave, nearly worked as another bit of AL magic makes a chance Meanwhile the goal made me rush my steak and my onion rings are soggy. NA out how dare you score so quickly at the start of a half
  17. Oh FFS, does this mean I now have to go downstairs, cook a Brazilian Rib Eye Steak with Chips, Onion Rings Peas & Mushrooms and open a bottle of Chotes Du Rhone every time we need a goal in 2011. Oh and football matches last 90 minutes, FFS some people on here take such a short term view. Leave it out, we now have 40 minutes to feck it up
  18. What we mustn't do is to switch off and lose our concentration and get hit by a sloppy goal on the break, Thanks Dave, you got a direct line through to Alps?
  19. All the play is in the Daggers half, the ball is only going one way, Daggers aren't getting support to their forward We are passing and moving and shooting at goal at will. No, it isn't business as usual, we are playing football away from home in a cowshed. it is score line as usual though.
  20. Poor effort, you could have at least posted the version where they f@rt Jingle Bells
  21. Aren't you a bit old to have got an X-Box for Xmas, even a Red One?
  22. Enuff of these nasty Cheerleaders, time for a proper one
  23. A lot of endeavour and a bit of pin-ball in their box.
  24. Ah a new year but the same old Saints Player fade outs then Over to the Daggers it is
