  1. Well, clearly Peter Mandelson reads this forum.... Didn't I suggest this only a few hours ago? Good ole Gord, anything for a few more votes eh! :-) http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20100418/tts-uk-europe-air-britain-ca02f96.html
  2. What was written on his T-Shirt at the JPT?
  3. Thanks for answering. At least you always put reasoned suggestions to go with the criticisms or analysis. IMHO Don't think the new guys would have gone anywhere near a "good up and coming" manager at the time they bought the club. They had no experience of football and were always going to choose experience as I'm pretty sure they had no idea what they were doing from day one other than working to a plan. (Not done a bad job of it either TBH) Next time around may be a different set of circumstances. Lambert was recommended to me by a Jock mate as one we should have gone for back in the NP days and would agree with that
  4. :prayer: :prayer: :prayer:
  5. Question. You state your opinion that you don't think AP is the man, which is fair and valid. But who in your opinion is?
  6. Turkish & Greek Airports open. So fly to Istanbul & take Orient Express? But everyone else is trying to do that. There aren't any rental cars left at most airports let alone taxis or seats on trains. As with the school party, the airlines aren't obliged to help. The problem is that flights to the UK this last weekend were all oversold (normal practice) because of the returning Easter Holidays. 26th for a confirmed flight is better than the BA guys stranded here are getting. Gold card members are getting 26th anyone else is getting 1st May onwards. When you then add those stranded passengers to the normal daily traffic there simply aren't enough empty seats to get everyone back. The EU/Gov could demand that extra flights are laid on to bring back the refugees, but then where are the spare planes? there aren't any, they'll all be in normal daily use. As for kicking off other passengers who had booked for these days - what about their rights? Very tough call. Maybe time to mobilize those old RAF VC-10's and some C-17's... Time for a Branson publicity stunt methinks. Charter some of those big Antonovs and give out blankets and sandwiches, Dunkirk spirit.... IF they are allowed to fly.
  7. Jeez. That Nurse's uniform would look fecking great thrown onto my headboard. The Scousers idea works, just that it doesn't quite look like Rickie....
  8. Thngs not to say to Polish people in your lounge this afternoon.... What's this? I want to watch the football..... Ouch
  9. Seeing those (weird) people at Yeovil means it must be getting near the end of season. As us nasty part-time foreigners won't be going, what's the consensus on the theme this year?
  10. It's bad enough coping with all the nutters in Fancy Dress at Cricket or at the Rugby 7's, but it is well out of order at Football... Apart from the last away game of the season.... Which raises the subject of the NEXT critical question.... And the theme for Gillingham is what??? Ooh a new thread idea!
  11. Lambert in CM is not a daft idea. He "technically" dropped into that position yesterday. Would give us Barnard up front and enables AP to keep to the same basic formation and style that did so well in recent games (his words). Would prefer that to Lallana or Puncheon, we're playing against lower table sides with more "down to earth" footballers and think the idea of either of those two makes us too light-weight in a scrap. If not then it is Wotton's moment. We may not like it, BUT he didn't let us down at Wembley
  12. Nice value add comment there from our new resident Parking Attendant
  13. Oh well, good news I suppose.... Thanks to the Volcano, won't be any overseas buyers flying in to save them for a while..... As if :-)
  14. That's really a question for Eric:-) Technically I think the engines are desiged to cope with that, it is the nature of Ash that is the problem IIRC. But in my time here have been grounded for fog (quite common) But also in the middle of July in 42C been grounded by ICE on the wings of the plane... It landed with too much fuel in the tanks, hit high humidity and froze, of course no de-icing kit here and they had to pump the old fuel out and then refuel - took about 2 hours. Mate from UK is moving in today, he's been re-booked for 30th April. BA have SUCH a backlog And no, travel insurance isn't covering it, and no as he was not in transit, BA ain't paying any compensation. He's self employed and fuming, bit like the Volcano. I'm just charging him Food & Drink
  15. Well yes if it keeps up, but no from a commercial perspective... Mate was quoted 400 quid a night for a hotel and asked if he could crash here in return for paying for our food & drink... It would have been cheaper staying in the hotel:-) hic. Would actually be gut wrenching if we go through all this drama, reach the playoffs and we can't get back, talk about just our luck. (won't happen of course), and yep it was our own fault choosing to be here, but there are quite a few proper local Saints fans stuck here who wouldn't deserve that nightmare. Low cost airline to Istanbul and then the Orient Express baggage car I guess
  16. Quality thx for pointing them out. I assume that is one of these so called uberfans in the nice hat in the last picture?
  17. How sweet... http://www.7days.ae/storydetails.php?id=93126&title=Web wedding for stranded couple
  18. 18,000 flights a day. They only need ONE problem in a week and how much would the ambulance chasers sue them for?
  19. Yes, it's bloody annoying, we've been infested with Uberfans from all over the UK trying to claim they are refugees. Now considering herding them into Camps at former Air Force bases out in the Desert. Sitting here eating our diminishing stock of fresh Dutch Tomatoes. Lazy Bstds, it's not THAT far to walk home
  20. Ah no, that's keeping an eye on the Trains home in the new reality
  21. Oh great could go on for ages
  22. What a marvellous last 15 minutes or so, the old adrenalin kicking in like it hasn't done for years, hell that was just us lot, what must the players have felt? All or nothing, playing it by emotion. Rip-roaring Boy's Own stuff. The crazy emotions of this season just keep on running, haven't enjoyed being a Saints fan so much since, hell must have been the Keegan days.
  23. Unbefeckingleevable Well done AP and the boysh
  24. Can we play Waigo at full back every week? Except when we try and hang on for a last minute win arrgh
  25. Oh you just SO knew that was coming NOW FECKING HANG ON
