  1. #5 says two ladies view the race card. I didn't see any ladies.

  3. The Alps
  4. HP Sauce not so sure it MUST be HP. Daddies Sauce hits the spot (We get HP here but have to "import" DS Ketchup - only when you leave you realise Heinz is NOT the best. Kimball Ketchup rocks, my Kids take suitcase amounts home after their stop overs. http://www.alibaba.com/product/kw106056020-234922393-0/Kimball_Ketchup.html Seems they are owned by Campbells Condensed Soups & is Malaysian and these guys import it here Bacon... Hmm Over here we can buy cheap Kenyan "Family Choice" Bacon at about 2.20 for 200g. Occassionally we can find Iceland Bacon ( a zillion times better) and 6 quid for a 1.50 pack. But one type I do like is Oscar Myers Hickory Smoked Bacon - It is American Streaky but they do a thick (Hearty) cut version. Yummmm if cooked right but like all over foreign Streaky if not. As for the other sauces. Maggi or Kimball Chilli Sauce, end of. Not only on Bangers etc but use 1/3rd a small bottle poured onto fried mushrooms about 2 minutes before you serve them and you have Chilli Mushrooms par excellence with the Bacon Butty or (better) a Good Steak. Oh if overseas don't EVER buy A1 Steak Sauce thinking it would be a substitute for HP
  5. Meanwhile So the Skates are at the Cup Final. They are all over the media. And yet, total silence from rentaquote. Mr UberConsultant. Not a word about how this will put them in the global public eye and make it easier for him in his consulting role to sell the club, or how happy he is for the Worlds Greatest fans..... Not a sign of Storrieteller claiming credit Odd
  6. Why bother? they asked for input on the local Goals on Monday TV programme - why bother? It is usueless us sending these in to the FA. It is (as Corp Ho rightly points out) easy to dismiss as bitterness from beaten local rivals. What it really needs are some of our wiser more other forum savvy members starting to explain things in detail on the forums of other fans such as Hull, Burnley, West Ham especially, but also well managed (financially) teams like Bolton, Wigan, Birmingham etc. Get the Geordie hordes onside - they saw what "living in their means" did to their club last season at the expense of the cheats. The anger needs to come from OTHER clubs. The basic details of this story need to be told. Journalists should be given a precis of the salient points and our thought processes from this thread. Becoming a whingeing Pom again is not something I am interested in. I gave up when I gave up being an Uberfan
  7. What was fair and square? Playing players they should never have been allowed to sign even back in August when they were patently insolvent but hoping for Al Fahim's non-money to appear?
  8. That's what I'd been struggling with. Unless, it's something like-AA, here's a loan to pay the running costs... 3mil Cheers matey, Here's the TV payment 5mil AA old buddy, Here's a loan to pay the running costs to the end of the season 10 mil Thanks dude, Here's the parachute payment 15mil Obviously he has costs and needs to charge interest.... He's a secured creditor, nobody buys the club his debt is still secured so he can take it out of cash flow or on interest charged on new guaranteed loans. We assume he wants to bother with paying debt off or HMRC's new bills or footballing debt. But if we stop assuming that (let's face it we all find the idea of someone actually BUYING them to be unlikely) then what are you left with? I think it is now about Chanrai getting his money out. He WAS stitched up, he won't care about anything except the way to get it back. Just for one minute ignore the "It's a great club" type spin, HOW can he get his money out legally during Admin? Starts to add up is all i'm saying, it's an idea, may be miles off or may have the start of the answer in it
  9. Don't let the digs into history stop your mates from digging at the now. There's probably worse to come. Have things been legal or nearly so, not necessarily the issue, my thought process is more along the lines of working out the AA & Chanrai game. What I see so far is making me start to think points deductions will be the least of your worries. If you like something along the lines of "If somebody has already got their money back and more and they don't have any future liability at a fixed point in time would they worry about selling their shares or would they get out at the first possible moment.
  10. Which then brings a question for our Learned Consels on here. At what point in an Admin process could an "owner" say that the business is no longer viable and wind it up with no possible recourse to himself or the administrator?
  11. Ah ha Here's an interesting question string. When is AA saying he wants to try and organise the CVA meeting? What date do PFC's next PAYE & VAT payments fall due? Ah ha
  12. I was very careful to comment on vague allegations I have heard, not read If there were links then the volcano would have erupted already. Let's keep it to an analysis from afar and the occassional research that has been fair to medium so far. But would expect your last line has happened paperwork wise if not actually. Away from where I heard it, interpret these facts Chanrai puts in 5mil for admin costs = the due Sky payment?? It costs 3/4mil a month to run the club during admin = the parachute money??? Add the rumours of looking for a business process that allows PFC to draw down the money = a loan?? How much = 15mil?? = parachute payment?? Then it's about how much interest you can charge on the secured loan and who made it Other question (tee hee) How long does a Kit Sponsorship contract last for? Anyone EVER seen a contract change in mid season? And if you were contracted as the sponsor, just what would you feel like on a Monday morning IF the team you had paid SHED loads of money to waltzed out on global TV wearing another company's product?... More legal fees possibly
  13. That was the plan but that has been derailed. The cash is discounted at 30% and has been loaned/secured against already.... The rest is easy to work out as to who got their hands on it allegedly
  14. Got a beer cooler filled up and placed by the sofa. Got a major stock of munchies. Even got some Red Bull and a bottle of Stoli if needed. Finally coverage here starts already so we can see all 18 holes with the leaders. If you ain't seen it yet Adam Scott on 8th (I think) has to be probably THE most ridiculous golf shot in history and will be played again and again. I was lucky enough to work with the media and walked the course with Lee when he won DWC Race to Dubai in November. He has had the same metronomic quality about him so far this week. Couple of scares yesterday but that look is in his eyes and he has Billy Foster who REALLY is a fantastic bloke (total nutter) to keep him focused. Can he do it? Will Tiger roar again? Of will it be that meh lefty? 3am before it finishes with more twists and turns than the poopey saga bring it on
  15. They (as a club) have as much chance of ever seeing that parachute money as we have of a direct promotion to the Premier League for being a nice club.
  16. Phew, that's good news then. Helps them get to the end of the season so they can have even more money stripped out of them.
  17. State of Fear Michael Crichton And as for Swine Flu, who was allegedly one of the shareholders of the company making vaccines? good ol Duby'a mate **** Cheney
  18. Now here's a scary thought after the results yesterday.... We play on 27th L1 Playoff final is on 29th..... Hmmmmmmmm Looks like that screws the chance of the Kish Island trip idea then nobody will want to be over there during that weekend IF Oh well back to the drawing board
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1263987/How-Dubais-14-billion-dream-build-The-World-falling-apart.html
  20. What an amazing 35 minutes of golf that was with Eagles going in all over the place. Well done Lee for hanging in there. Let's hope Lefty has used up all his magic & the Metronome is back tomorrow.
  21. In continued and increasingly desperate efforts to raise funds for the After Party, moves are afoot to see if it would be possible to have more spectator involvement in the Big Day. So, the good news is that we are able to announce the "Uberfan Cross Bar challenge" for half-time. Fans will be selected at random from the sell out crowd and will be given a quiz by our half time entertainer Saint Stevo before having a pop at goal. The Winner will win a no expenses paid 10 day vacation to Kish Island courtesy of our sponsors Kish Airways (Motto - we sometimes get you home as well) Kish is the Tourist Hotspot of Iran offering lots to do in lots of places in the dormitory at the airport. Of course, during the game, players who manage to shoot OVER the cross bar from inside the box will also win big. They will win a 3 month camping vacation in Kish Island during July, August & September (tent supplied). As part of the deal, players will need to bring their passports to the match and their limo transport will take them directly to their aclimatisation base in Khandahar. Unless you have a better idea?
  22. Found this http://business.maktoob.com/20090000456746/More_arrests_in_Turkey_match-fixing_probe/Article.htm?utm_campaign=Day-Newsletter&utm_medium=LatestSports-news5&utm_source=Day-Newsletter&utm_content= A match fixing scam in Turkey that was found from a bigger investigation in Europe. When added to the stories of the Essex Cricketers it makes one woder how on earth people can be so thick as to keep trying to do this after the Hansie Cronje affair. Anyone else pick up any more details or stories/rumours?
  23. Ex EMEA VP of my ex multi-national tells the tale of his trip in a Babyflot plane. It landed on the runway and the emergency exit door fell into his lap. Apparently it was quite common. The excuse on CNN was they wanted to upgrade to an Airbus or a Boeing but the cost was too high. Always accountants that cause the pain and never carry the blame
  24. Designed for a different world though. And one minor point - the pilots would have been Polish
