2-0 up away at London Bees in 12 minutes.

The bar has dropped. We're used to watching average keepers week in week out at Saints. Forster's positioning is good compared to someone like Pickford, but the rest of his game is largely poor. Another standard which is low, and maybe skews people's judgement, is the lack of quality amongst English keepers in general. Most reasonable size nations have much stronger depth in quality than we do.
-
They have a friendly first because they were meant to play Russia in the World Cup play off semi. The World Cup play off final is on 29th March and will be the important game Hasenhuttl was referring to.

Stupid predictive text.
-
Well obviously not, but I have seen a couple of games and there's also this thing called the internet that has a lot of information on it. He's certainly better than any of our bang average keepers.
-
Not sure how much he'd cost but Albert Lafont from Nantes would be worth looking at as far as keepers go. He looks like an absolute perfect signing for our style of play. Fast and agile, closes out 1 on 1's superbly. Also excellent with his feet which would I'm sure make everyone happy. He's young at only 23 but has already played nearly 250 games.

None of our keepers should be starters in the league. Forster is on a silly contact, is getting old, can't kick and is poor on crosses. Makes no sense to keep him unless we really can't find anyone better. It would be an absolute joke in terms of scouting if that was the case.

Thought it was nice they announced their result on the tannoy at half time today.

Swiss Ramble will no doubt do an in depth analysis of it on twitter in the next couple of days or so. Their breakdown of club finances is unparalleled.

Good performance until Adams missed that great chance and then they scored the third shortly after. Pity we didn't take one of the other chances in the first half, although they could have easily scored another in the first 45 minutes too. Silly mistakes cost us, but as with most other mid table teams, we have players who are liable to make them. Thought Long did pretty well, as did the midfield and full backs. Salisu didn't have his best game and giving away the penalty was stupid. Stephens was poor.

I want a first choice team too, but the goalkeeper position is probably the one I wouldn't grumble about if it was changed. If we make wholesale changed then yes it's a joke. I said that before the West Ham game too. Not sure where you got the idea I made you out as a Walcott fan boy, that's you making stuff up. It was an example of a poor selection decision that could be made whereas the GK one isn't worth getting worried about because it matters not much either way.

Having a history with the club means fuck all if you are barely capable of functioning as a footballer. Olly Lancashire has a history with the club but we aren't going to throw him in at CB for this game. Picking a not very good keeper over another not very good keeper is not an absolute joke at all. Picking Walcott who is complete gash over a player we can't win a game without would be.
-
I said above the Forster is better but there's not much in it. Certainly not enough to describe picking Caballero over him as "an absolute joke". I'd reserve that kind of opinion for picking Walcott over Armstrong.
-
Agree with the top point. He could also have done better with the second goal, would have had more chance of saving it if he'd gone with his foot. It's the sort of save De Gea makes regularly. I'm no expert either, but my son is a decent keeper and is coached by an extremely knowledgeable ex-Academy coach. I've watched enough sessions and had enough conversations with him to know a fair amount about the specific techniques.
-
Caballero isn't much worse than Forster. Neither are great but there's not much in it. There's some very strange goalkeeper opinions on here, but that's not unusual because people aren't generally exposed to having to understand the technical aspects of the role.

Good excuse to post this Parquet Courts song.

Burnley and Brighton games re-arranged in April

Not sure why MLG is even bothering with this one. It's a waste of everyone's time. -
They do. If they defend solidly they have the pace up front and wide to be able to relieve the pressure on the defence. Man City missed a couple of relatively easy chances, sometimes you just need that bit of luck on your side too. Maybe we will have that on Sunday.
-
Play like Palace did, and how we did against them last time. Take them to penalties. Sub Caballero on if he's not already on the pitch. Win the shoot out. Easy.
-
Thought many players were poor. Only really Walker Peters and Redmond when he came on were above average. So many passes didn't find their target, and a lot of them weren't even difficult ones either. We desperately need a new keeper, Forster was awful on both goals, and an attacker with a bit of something about them. Someone like Djenepo but actually good and not made of biscuits.
-
He had no pass on and had to go back to Forster. Did nothing wrong, the problem was with no one showing for a pass. People booed, he probably thought they were booing him.

Free Fallin' by Tom Petty on the tannoy. Think I'd have reevaluated my half time playlist if was the tannoy dude after that first half.

Broja coming on

I think the new turnstiles have more colours now. I saw a list of them inside the ground a few weeks ago. Pretty sure it used to just have 2 different ones but there are more now.

They do have a steward stood there checking which light flashes sometimes in the family stand but it's erratic.
