If we are discussing TA then agreed he is an Arsenal legend, read his book and you will realise what an incredible journey this man has been on and considering how so many young footballers crash and burn his most remarkable achievement is not measured by the trophys and medals but in the way he has ressurected his life in such a positive way. I wouldn't want him as are our manager because i found his post match interviews and press comments cringe worthy last season and if that persona is transfered into a no nonsense league 1 dressing room with a sprinkling of seasoned professional then i do not think he would be good for this club. I believe that could be reason why he was so respected as a number 2 but unable to transfer that respect as a manager either at Wycombe following Theo Foley and down the road following the unmentionable person.

Well said, that has to be the best posts i have seen here in a long time. To many people live there support for this club through this message board and yeah its great if you cant visit SMS regulary and its a great way of staying in touch but it stopped being an enjoyable debating / banter forum a long time ago. These people have just rescued us from extintion or a bunch of developer type chancers who would of made Lowe Crouch Wilde look like the three wise men and here we are criticising at the first opportunity. I for one dont think TA will be the next manager of this club but i for one couldnt believe we employed WGS so damaged was his reputation at Coventry and he turned into one of the best managers we've ever had.

We have been at times 24 hours away from non league football and we choose today of all days to gloat at other bad news when it could so easily have been SFC. Let enjoy are unbelievable news and hope the old enemy down the road find themselves a worthy owner so one day soon we can lock horns on the field of football and not gloat on message boards. There has been some rare genuine good will with our predicament from our Skate friends. Lets show some class and enjoy are day.

Nigel Worthington anyone?
-
He didnt do to bad bringing Swindon through the division as my memory serves me, Dont label me a Lowe luver but if he had stuck to his guns and not listened to back page campaigns and fan forums and re-appointted Hoddle theres a good chance we wouldnt have ended up were we are now.

forgive me for asking a stupid question, but everyone is knocking Fry and in fairness he hasnt covered himself in glory on the face of it. But who put up the 500k for exclusivity? Was it Crouch or was it Pinnacle, theyre are tyre kickers on here talking about 500k like we are still in the Premiership!! 500k is a xxit load of money just to massage someones ego on the back of the Echo. Who would waste that sort of money?

People, say you dont want Ince, say you dont like Ince but dont knock his achievements in the lower leagues. We cry out for English managers and then knock there success. I'd have him because he understands this league, he's been in a worse position than the one which we are starting, my only negative is that if a bigger club comes calling. Forget Blackburn, unless you hit the ground running in the Premiership its doesnt matter who you are, his methods were to radical for the pampered premiership elite.

Will what happened to us happen to that lot down the road?
IN MY DAY replied to PaulSaint's topic in The Saints
You know what! when the news broke ref admin we had all our Pompey clients / customers ringing up taking the ****. It was like another cup final for them. I've decided even through gritted teeth, when it happens, not if it happens i'm gonna show a bit more class. -
Are we talking about Wayne Thomas or the NEW Darren Powell!! Confused l.o.l.
-
Everything he touches truely does turn to xxit!! After Barclays pulled the plug W.H.Ireland produced a future shareprice forecast for Barclays Shares of around 46p for the year when they were around the £1.30. . They finished on Friday at £2.36. Tried not to read to much into it at the time but Lowe being Lowe you wouldn't put it past him.
-
Nice thought and will live in hope!! But i was told that he doesnt want to move and that he could commute to Leicester.
-
I heard that it was a done deal that Kelvin would be playing for the League 1 champions next season. I swear there was not a taxi driver in sight!!
-
Why? If we cant blame anyone what else are we going to do? I suppose we could support our team that would be good idea!!
-
Rupes just cant leave it can he!!, he wants us all to know he's struggling too!!
-
I for one was sad to see Jones, but the others were not appreciated by a large portion on this forum, surprising what a good manager and touch of confidence has done to all these player. All regular steady premiership performers but not good enough for us. !!!

How many fresh starts and new beginning can this club take, this club is punch drunk and fatigued with bad news poor performance and infighting and thats OFF the pitch. On the pitch they are possibly putting in the worst, most gutless performances in this clubs glorious history, perhaps with one eye on picking up a serious injury with the strong posibility of contracts being ripped up. Im not ashamed i had a lump in my throat at sight of 28k urging on the team at the beginning of the Charlton game and wondered were the fight they displayed against Cardiff had disappeared to. On all these fresh starts and storming League 1 i remember the same rallying call when we entered the Championship, it will be a dogfight down there and with yet another new team. Sad days but i applaud the contenders who are brave enough to put there hard earned money into this shambles.

It should be an interesting chat, Alan Brazil has always made mileage out of his Burley contact and the inside track on the boardroom upheavals at St Marys, it will be interesting to see if Mr Brazil gives him a cousy ride or really gets stuck into him.

Man woman and child and even zimmer frame, turned up to show there solidarity today. I was sat in the area were most of the fans got up and left when we went 3-1 down, some solidarity!! Why come to a game for 70 min, this wasnt about losing a game 3-1 with 20 minutes to go this was about LOSING OUR CLUB. Im sorry if the abuse was over the top, but if you did leave early why?. Are you the first in the lifeboat, last one out the bunkers, or let someone else go first?. Did you stand there and applaud Leons 'great speech' about all pulling together? and then leave after 70 mins. And if a few are playing children card as a father of 4 how do explain why you left early. Good example of what do when your back against the wall. So its clear, i dont go week in week out, i go when i want to and when my son wants to come with me, but i will be there for the rest of the season and if we lose, we lose it'll just be another miserable saturday night but the club must survive.
-
Very impressed with Simon Gillett today seemed to run out of legs after about 70min but very impressed. I thought he was a match day mascot when i first saw him in a Saints shirt but he's turned into a very promising player.
-
Never seen supporters rise up and applaud a save like that before, love to see it again but from were i was sat it was very worthy.
-
Someones done the number crunching, with tonights attendance 10-12k, possibly re-schedule 15-17k if the cost to cancel is greater than the difference on the two gates then its a no-brainer for Mr Lowes calculater. In all honesty the ground staff can probably get the pitch ready, its the people travelling which is the problem. I'm working in Bursledon / Park Gate and the roads are clear, i've just travelled to Bitterne West End and its a complete nightmare.
-
Good post but i wonder what the Donny fans would have made of our support at SMS! After the team went behind.
-
I haven't been able to bring myself to look at this forum till now after yesterdays result, but a very interesting thread, i spoke to an ex-saint at a match today who is enjoying some success coaching at another club but whose heart is obviously with Saints, while discussing his success elsewhere he dropped into the conversation that word is Wilde is seriously talking to someone at present to dump his entire stake, he crossed his fingers and said ''let hope eh''. Lets all hope !!

It will be interesting to see if Sir Alex comes into rescue him, was H.R. quoted last week saying he was a better coach than Sir Alex!! I think Gareth Bale blows that out the water.
