  1. ⬆️ feed that into an anti-woke wizard and save for furure events.
  2. Of course it hasn't passed me by, but they could do more than nothing if they really wanted to. We sign stuff and agree things but nothing changes. We interact with dodgy regimes, religious nutters and dictators all whilst preaching good from the lectern. But hey just knock wokies for having a different opinion to you.
  3. No surprise you've jumped to conclusions based on fuck all, where have I said I've signed any petition. My point simply is, it's easy to stick it on wokies, when our government continually sign up for stuff and then just carry on as normal. Of course the government are virtue signalling, they are the worse type. I totally agree there are alarming problems with supply chains and it's depressing that it's virtually impossible to buy an electronic product that hasn't had a Chinese input.
  4. Or governments like ours could join anti-slavery treaties and bring in modern slavery acts, bang on about the importance of it all and then just ignore them. The government the biggest virtual signalers of them all.
  5. So you're not outraged by Qatar or the US, but you hope that someone else is equally outraged by the US as people are outraged by Qatar to make the outrage against Qatar appear fair. OK great point.
  6. It's ok, if you need some help to muster up some empathy just think of the 6500 people as toppled British statues.
  7. Start one if you want to.
  8. Automatic promotion gone for a Burton
  9. He was a great man to man marker, never let them get out of his sight.
  10. Were alcohol sponsors banned or did they just drift away because if all the criticism. Maybe this will happen again, however I reckon gambling sites won't be as bothered by the PR as global drinks brands are. I did some planning work for a landlord who wanted to change some of his shops to flats including a couple of highstreet bookies. I had to map all the bookies in the area for the planners and it was amazing how many there are in close proximity, in some cases the same brand opposite each other. All because they could have fixed odds betting machines. These companies rinse people for very little local benefit and lobbied hard to keep the amount that could be bet as high as possible. I'm against banning things and would rather things are seen for what they are, bricks or clicks these are scum bag companies looking for more ways to take more money off people. I have an occasional bet but this isn't the gambling industry of the 80's, it's now on steroids and I'm increasingly reluctant to be the mug punter making some people very rich.
  11. No Arsenal fan I know is impressed with Cedric.
  12. My dad's wife had banned him from phoning it. He would get enticed by a ceefax headline and would phone me up and get me to phone it, make notes and phone him back. After a while I wouldn't bother listening to much of it and just make up stuff.
  13. I can't watch a Grobbelaar game and not wonder if he has let any of the goals in.
  14. Talking of weapons, did you struggle to come up with a different combination of words to those used in the tweet.
  15. Goals conceded with Sam is pretty much the same as before, although this is probably down to a number of heavy defeats for the first half of his period in charge. They have been more stingy recently but at the expense of scoring goals, before the Chelsea game they had scored once in 5 games. The Chelsea game is a real outlier and has improved Fat Sam stats no end, they are still not doing enough to stay up and we should really not lose to them. It remains to be seen if the Chelsea game is the beginning of a higher scoring run or they revert to form, my monies on the latter.
  16. Coming back from behind isn't that straight forward a stat, Man City have the second worse record for winning points from losing positions, obviously because they don't often get into losing positions. So it got me thinking how often do we go 2-nil down. I had a quick flick through our results and over the last three seasons and we've gone done 2-nil 22 times, lost 20 drawn 1 and won 1. We don't go down 2-nil down that often against our peer teams*, it's happened 8 times over the last three seasons (won 1 lost 7). So out of 62 games we've had just 8 opportunities to comeback from 2-nil down to beat a beatable team. So yeah it doesn't happen much because we don't often go down 2-nil against our beatable teams, this has to be a good thing. * not Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester, Everton
  17. It is a contact sport, players fight for the ball and for space, it is part of the game.
  18. Is it really unrealistic that the 4 worst away team might not hold on to an early lead. Despite the popular view Burnley do give away points from a winning position. We are slightly better away than them and I guarantee if we went 2 nil up early at Burnley people wouldn't be sitting back and counting the points. People think Burnley and Fulham are brilliant and we are shit.
  19. And your head and your body when battling for the ball and your hands when your in goal, otherwise the name is spot on.
  20. But I'm not talking with hindsight if I'm saying wait and see what happens and I'm not talking about not reacting to bad moments in football. I'm also not trying to point score, I am just surprised how people react, because as football fans surley we should all have learnt by now that things can easily change in a game or that strange results can even happen. Who would have predicted that Chelsea would lose 2-5 at home to West Brom the other day or that Liverpool would go on such a bad run, or Leicester winning the league. How many games do you see a team be in full control for twenty minutes and then the games totally swings. Even from the experience of our own team we have seen us boss first halfs and you think we will cruise to the end of a game and then we come out and we are shit, let one goal in and crumble. We have no exclusivity on bad stuff, it happens to other clubs and sometimes we will be the beneficiary. When it's going to happen know one knows, but what we do know is that it will happen one day.
  21. But surley we have all watched football for long enough to know anything can happen, that a game or season can turn with out warning. So with an hour to go against a team with the same points the game could easily have turned. People seem to think that there is some prize or skill in calling something early where as the sensible thing is to just sit back and see what happens.
  22. It is if it's not bad enough to be a foul.
  23. You talk about gaining an advantage as though it's wrong, sport is all about one team/player trying to gain a legal advantage over their opponent.
  24. The first time we have done the double over Burnley since 1971. For me it was a must win game, so it was real good to pull it around. Win the next two games and the season is saved.
