  1. We can only imagine the horrors these boys went through. We have been at war with each other since forever and unfortunately I don't see any reason why this will stop.
  2. It's the same with the etymology of more benign words, their meanings change over time, it's just the way it is and really should be no big deal. Just like no one decided that cunt was going to be a high ranking swear word, it just became one. It's only an assemblage of four letters and means the same thing as it did when it was first used but because of the values loaded on to it, it's a word you can't use at work. But you wouldn't get told off calling someone a dick. As far as I can see there is no reason for Paki to be offensive, but it is deemed so by many Pakistanis, so I wouldn't use it.
  3. No one. These things are organically self-declared, that's alright isn't it?
  4. We don't know that he was forced to resign, he said it was his own choice. Anyway it wasn't just for the term coloured but for the totality of what he said. All mild stuff but together it gives the appearance of a bloke completely out of touch with 2020 and out of step with the organisation he chairs. He is paid a lot to get this stuff right, so time to move on. He will have his choice of directorships to keep the wages coming in, so nothing to worry about.
  5. He shat on the bed that Barack slept in, apparently. The Russians have video of it, apparently.
  6. Come on West Brom, Wolves, City and Villa.
  7. Yes, top for a whole day now. Take it when it comes.
  8. I'm surprised he remembered he played for us.
  9. Do you really think there are 16 year olds who are gutted because they couldn't sit their exams, apart from a handful of weirdo kids. So if the difference between last year and this year is 9%, then the vast majority of kids got what they deserved. If that is not the case then please explain. Your posts on here portray a very bitter person, am I wrong? I thought maybe being a maths failure was ground zero. Maybe it's something else, please let me know what makes you so bitter. PM if you don't want to post publically.
  10. That would make you a 16 year old weirdo, but that figures. There's a 9% grade inflation, therefore most kids achieved what they deserved. Did you fail maths, is that why you are so bitter.
  11. If fishery policy equals an interesting article in the Conservative Home then it's a rag to avoid.
  12. With regards exams, its all very simple to me but then I did get a U in A Level economics. Every year teachers predict grades and every year the actual results will be way less than the predicted grades. The is because every year a bunch of kids won't revise properly, get freaked out, have family problems etc and fall below their predicted grades. Predicted grades are what the kids are capable of, they can't predict who is going to fuck up just like the algorithm can't. The algorithm can get the result curve correct on paper for the whole national cohort but it can't get it right for all the thousands of individuals. So the choice is between the whole system or the individuals. I've done a 180 on it and now believe the algorithmic approach is wrong, but it's no surprise the government went this way as Dominic, Boris' uni chum, loves big data and doesn't give a shit about people.
  13. Nothing changes, I got my place at Bristol Poly on the Friday before the course started. Got me going in my career and Bristol was a good night out.
  14. I see Boris is continuing to surround himsrlf with useless fuckwits, Dido Harding whose list of achievements is as non-existent as Boris' is lined up to head the new public health body. Her failure at track and trace should discount her from the role but of course she has the ultimate qualification, she went to university with David Cameron. What a mess we are in, a government of useless suits led by Boris old uni chum giving contracts to companies they own and big jobs to their friends. The gammons would be spit roasting the left if it did half the stuff this bunch of entitled useless twats are up to.
  15. Isn't the point about Australia is that they are surrounded by international water and so they can behave differently, our sovereign water butts directly upto French water. So we are bound by different conventions. I see the UK government are currently in France seeking French co-operation as stated by the more rational on here.
  16. If course it's factual that they are passing through, because that's their intention and that's what they are doing. Yes it's illegal and outside the immigration system, but it's a system that they think they can't be a part of, so they don't care for the rules. The truth is we are in a moment where there is so much turmoil all this is natural. How can the government stop it happening, I woukd like to know, previously the government had some measure of sucess in collaborating with France but now we are coming out of the EU that good will is thin on the ground. Brexit might give us more control on legal migration from the EU but it's seemly eroding our control on illegal migration.
  17. A really high percentage of your post's comment on people's comprehension, are you 13? Your first paragraph is nonsense, naturally. Your second paragraph illustrates my point entirely, despite EU migrants being legally entitled to come here, you don't want them and class them the same as illegal immigrants. Classic.
  18. Not really, he was replying to the point about EU migration, the clue was the bit he put in bold. Another mess from Weston Ender. Is there a distinction, no one likes either the legal or the illegal immigrants.
  19. But they are not coming from France, they are passing through France, so your point is pointless. These aren't people just happy to be claiming asylum in the first safe place, these are people moving for economic reasons to better their lives. France doesn't want them, Britain doesn't want them, no where wants them so they might as well try to get to a place where they want to go. They have nothing to lose, they come from war torn destroyed places, economically backward places or religiously retarded places; it's stick or twist in your one life on this planet (regardless of what the religious nutters say). I know what most europeans would do and have done over the last 500 years, my grandparents came from Ireland in the 40's and in the 70's we went to New Zealand, the whole world is populated by europeans seeking a better life, they have taken over north and south america and oceania. So people trying to sanctimoniously point out that they are not refugees but economic migrants is pointless, it doesn't seek to understand and or help solve the problem. I don't know what the answer is but the world has got itself into a right mess and it needs an almighty effort to turn things around (in all reality we probably can't).
  20. Who is conforming to the herd on the mask debate, those wearing them or those not or both, I can't work it out.
  21. The women who were prescribed thalidomide in the 50's but didn't take it for fear of what it might do to there unborn babies, were they thick and deluded. I haven't read MLT posts but putting the conspiracy nonsense to one side, isn't one of the core points that there is a risk in taking a rushed vaccine, which maybe is a greater risk than covid poses to some people. I have some sympathy with that point of view, I will gather as much information as possible before I make a decision and I know that there won't be any ex-footballers on my research list.
  22. There are not French people in those dinghies are they. If they were they could economically migrate here easily. They are from the other side of the med. But you know that, so I don't really know what point you are trying to make.
  23. I think you've answered your own question.
