So what is his level? Since PSG sacked him Dortmund, Benfica, Ajax, Brugge, Marseilles, Shaktar Donetsk, Leizpig and Chelsea are all Champions League clubs plus Man Utd and PSV who don't seem to think he's their level. Or is he turning them all down for something bigger? I think he's a 7/10 manager who can improve a club at our level (which he proved) but is not capable of taking a "big club" (Spurs, PSG) to the next level. If you feel differently we'll beg to differ. But I'm still not suggesting we would or should get him back

I don't need to get used to it, I've never thought he would for one minute. But your post implied he wouldn't come here because bigger clubs will be after him. I was just pointing out that several bigger clubs could have signed him this year but none did, nor from memory were even seriously linked with him. The point I was making was maybe the likes of us, or Espanyol, are his level. Maybe want he wants and what he'll end up accepting aren't necessarily the same thing.

How many of the "biggest clubs" have appointed new managers since he left PSG? He's still available.

Spend money on a striker in January, keep same manager and still he'll still get us relegated. No can’t see it as that’s throwing money away!

And now, if/when we do run out of puff we can use 5 subs. It's like that rule change was made for our tactics. Yet we seem to do the opposite, play it slow and steady and suddenly decide to go for it when there's too little time left.

Echo reporting all 3 villa keepers missed training, 2 with injury, 1st choice Martinez through illness. Time to play 5 up front? 🤣

Ah, so that's what Klopp must have been referring to when I caught the end of an after match press conference whilst channel hopping last night. The totaly bemused look on his face said all we need to know about what he thought of the idea. Even with the best marketing in the world, I can't imagine any game the average fan would be less interested in. And that's in a year when we have a #WankyWorldCup in Qatar.

I'll stake a claim for silly mid-off.

Hints that Sky won't have enough personnel nor outside broadcast vans to televise it. Presumably, if that turns out to be the case, that would not be a reason to call it off. ?

How many "big name" bosses have lost their job after losing to us? Hopefully another one next week.

If they were anything like most of my transfers in, you should be grateful the games are called off.

Without wishing to go all MLG on your intended witicism, it was Barclays that put us into administration. Hope to god we're not still banking with them.
-
Exactly. Never understand why fans think we should be told what's going on. Yes, we'd all like to know, but it ain't going to happen. It's like regularly shopping at Tesco and expecting them to announce where they plan their next branch, and which brand of beans they hope to start stocking instead of one of their current lines

I can picture Redmond in one now, sprinting across Centre Court to retrieve a loose ball, only to hold onto it for too long before mistakenly rolling it to a line judge.
-
Looks good on his feet. Can HE play left back?
-
Probably just being too optimistic but I can only think if -IF- Delap chose Stoke over us it's because we weren't going to use him as a first choice striker, which would indicate we have someone better already lined up.

Did it coincide with the new owners being announced? I can't imagine any self respecting Albanian wanting to be "owned" (even tenuously) by a Serbian

To be fair that's nothing to do with sexism. Someone copyrighted or trademarked "Man of the Match" thinking they could make a fortune charging Sports channels/ organisations to use it. It backfired, they all just changed to something else.

<sarcasm>Great inspirational change of personnel and formation by RH once we were 0-2 down. Such a pity the PL never passed that 5 subs rule that would have allowed him to confidently make those changes at the first drinks break when it was already apparent they were needed. </sarcasm>

About to? As in hasn't yet? FFS why aren't we going for him? Forget wages. Forget re-sale value. He's just the sort of player the team has lacked for years. Can't see Djnepo strolling when he should be sprinting back, or Redmond laughing after his "shot" goes closer to the corner than the goal with Costa likely to bite their heads off in the tunnel. Can't imagine Mings puts up with much shit either, we'll have him as well.

Combine our current run, the fact it is Adams, and the paltry fee makes that one of the most depressing reports I've seen in ages as a Saints fan. Unless there is a definite sh!t hot striker coming in that decision is just ridiculous. Would that be an SR decision or a RH decision? If it's the latter then whatever little respect I did have left for the jobs he's doing has completely gone.
