Its because Ford used to be the market leader and their cars were ubiquitous. Buyers now often associate Ford with their dad's car or grandads car when they were growing up. The cars themselves are mostly really good - but people mostly dont buy on quality anymore, brand and image is everything.

Everyone knows Ford is in trouble and has been for years. More importantly how do you account for Jaguar Landrover, Nissan, Honda and BMW Mini moving production out of Britain? All a coincidence, nothing to do with Brexit innit?

What do people this Boris would actually do about Brexit as PM? Seems to me he would deliver Brexit on or near October 31st so he gets the credit as a man of his word and gets the right onside. But nothing much would change within the transitional period and he would use that time to pursue some kind of close alignment aka Norway plus a time extension to c2022. Who knows though really. Im not sure anybody really knows whats in his mind or if he has a plan, including him.

No Government can do much in 5 years apart from tinker with tax rates. You have to have policy discussions, then publish a green paper, a white paper and then have the legislation passed. Once passed the legislation can never be effective immediately as there needs to be an implementation period. That lot takes you beyond the next election. Its the second term in Government when things get done and Corbyn wouldnt last that long.

The sad truth for the swivels is that Farage and BP couldnt get enough support even in a strong leave constituency. Fraud or not Labour won with the lowest share of the vote at any by election in 75 years - 30%, and BP still couldnt top it.

Even if Iran did it its a relatively minor detail in much wider chain of events started by Trump repudiating the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreed by his predecessor, four nuclear powers + Germany. Trump is trying to strangle the life out of Iran in order to get regime change. If you're happy to be played so that the US can start another cluster**** in the middle east, then go ahead. Well China, Russia, UK, Germany, France and the US created an agreement with strict verification which ensured they couldnt develop nuclear weapon so no-one had to rely on words. Trump unilaterally suspended it and threatened to sanction anybody who didnt agree. I wonder why that is? Pompeo, Bolton and Mattis want regime change in Iran, pure and simple - and Trump isnt bright enough to stand up to them. If they get their way there will be thousands dead, tens of billions spent, an Iranian economy destroyed and its just as likely as not the new regime will be more unstable than the current one. We never learn, same mistakes over and over every ten years or so. The Saudis are far worse than Iran. They are directly responsible for the export of Salafism, the creation of Al Queda and IS and millions of deaths, including thousands of Westerners. Anything Iran has done pales into insignificance by comparison. Yet Saudi are treated as our buddies and Iran are the great threat.
