  1. Agree about Gove. He's very able and deserves to be a minister, I'm just not sure I trust him though.
  2. Alistair Campbell has been expelled from Labour for voting LD. Doesn't bode well for Labour if they're still denying the illness.
  3. Hunt has a toxic record in the NHS and Javid will just say whatever he needs to say to be popular. I'm a swing voter and there is no prospect of me supporting either of them. Tobias Ellwood was really impressive on the BBC on election night. He might persuade me to consider voting Tory again.
  4. That would be true if anyone ever believed that Britain really would pull the suicide trigger. They didn't so it isn't.
  5. I'm amazed there are still people suffering under this delusion after three years. There is no unicorn pick and mix option. Member, associate via EFTA / EEA or Free trade agreement. Thems the choices.
  6. Raab's constituency voted clearly remain last night.
  7. I say that interview live last night. She's definitely on that slope that leads to hoarding your used incontinence pads.
  8. Not really related to last night - but in general if you analyse what people believe in and what parties stand for, around 40% of people vote for the wrong party.
  9. Hm. I wonder who will be most keen to avoid a no confidence vote. The MPs voting down a policy they despise led by a PM they disagree with, or a new PM who has only just climbed the greasy pole and got the job they always dreamed of.
  10. The full interview is here (just under an hour)
  11. I looked at the raw data of the Survation voting intention poll published on Thursday. We've got used to the age and education divide on Brexit but that poll was even more stark. Out of 2,000 people canvassed no-one at all, zero, people in the 18-24 age group intended to vote for the Brexit party, whilst 52% of the over 75s were.
  12. Agree. He's too honest though. Amber Rudd has played her hand better, positioning herself to be kingmaker and secure the second top job as Chancellor.
  13. Cant wait. You'll elect a fruitcake who will bomb at the next election and we'll get a Labour / SNP / liberal coalition.
  14. Really?? Thats hard to see unless you're Marlon Brando.
  15. Don't want to ruin good brogues if they hit an artery.
  16. I've just reread the Tory 2017 manifesto (yeah its a slow day). There is actually quite a lot of admirable social policy and warm words in it. Only fly in the ointment is, they didn't implement any of it, or even try.
  17. Exactly. You can change the PM but it wont change the facts or Parliamentary numbers
  18. Bit brutal but hard to disagree. She should have looked for cross party compromise from the outset. Her red lines just allowed unrealistic expectations to become "real Brexit". The next PM will be crucified by them too.
  19. Thats the point though. Culturally much of Australia reminds me of the southern states in the US but politically their Governments aren't generally Trump like
  20. Australia has mandatory voting. It would be really interesting to see some projections on how that would affect voting patterns in the UK - given the old tend to vote in larger numbers than the young and the young tends to be more liberal leaning.
  21. Opposite for me. Don’t normally bother with the euro or local elections but will tonight
  22. There was commentator on tv last night saying any new PM will need some kind of mandate for such a constitutional change - either a general election or a referendum. Since a new PM wouldn't want to risk their position in the top job by having a GE then a referendum becomes more likely when May goes. .
  23. Get a thermostatic shower tightwad! Its only about £50 more and will transform your days
