The EU is not stagnating - it has lower growth than developing countries because, erm, they are developing and their lower wage costs mean investment flows to them. When they reach the same level of development as the EU or US their growth will slow too. The only way to increase growth here would be to cut wages to developing world levels, which some on the right of the Tory party and UKIP would be happy to see.
